  1. I am 5 days post op and still having 1 oz every 15 minutes. I sip it as slow as I possibly can but I'm done within the first 3 minutes. Should it take me 15 minutes to sip the one oz or should I sip slowly and start sipping again in 15 minutes? Depending on the beverage sometimes my stomach gets really upset. Help please!
  2. My neurologist said something to me that really struck a nerve. I was diagnosed with pseudotumor cerebri. He told me I needed to lose weight quickly or i would go blind. I told him I'm in the bariatric program and I would be having surgery soon. He said "well that's nice but that surgery only works for awhile! You will gain the weight back!" I was so in shock! The hospital staff was amazing! It was just the one dr who really needs to learn some bedside manner. Sorry you had to go thru that, I would definitely report that mess tho!
  3. I'm so happy for you! And great job on progress so far!
  4. I would talk to your surgeon. I was supposed to go on a 4 hour trip from home 2 weeks post-op. My dr said "no way" he doesn't like his patients to travel within the first 6 weeks but after 6 weeks he would be ok with it but he feels the longer you wait the better.
  5. Premier shakes are milk based that could be causing the diarrhea. I'm 5 days post op and the premier kills me everytime. It's all I drank before surgery. My surgeon warned me this could happen.
  6. Congrats! You look great!
  7. I am only four days post op so I'm not sure if my sex drive will increase but I already have a high sex drive so we shall see. As far as getting pregnant, GOD I hope not, I got my tubes tied 6 years ago. I do not want or need any more babies!
  8. I only got about 30 grams today! I'm so worried I'm screwing up already. I got about 46 oz of water. I have no desire to eat, I forced down 3 oz of Greek yogurt with extra protein mixed in. I've been having diarrhea nonstop since I tried drinking some protein shake. I just feel like I should be doing better than I am.
  9. How much protein were you getting on day 3?
  10. I had surgery on Wednesday (10-21) my period started today, 6 days early. It's been pretty normal. My dr told me to expect a really heavy one.
  11. It's got a funky flavor but it's so much more tolerable than the chocolate flavored shakes!
  12. Would it be a substitute for a protein shake?
  13. Has anyone tried mixing unflavored protein powder with crystal light?
  14. It's 630 now and I've been able to get 40 oz of water in so far. And I've had an entire Popsicle split into 3 different meals. I feel like I'm doing pretty good now. I still get slightly nauseated here and there but I'm feeling much better than this morning
  15. I'm going on my second day post op. All I've been able to get down is water and half of a Popsicle. Even those things make me feel super nauseated. Is that normal?
  16. Thanks y'all! I'm getting discharged woot!
  17. Yesterday I joined the sleeved crowd. I am still in hospital, not feeling fantastic but I've felt worse. Waking up in recovery yesterday all i could think was "what had done!" As the pain is slightly better I'm no longer thinking that. I've only been able to drink water everything else makes my tummy hurt. And I'm starting to have some gas pains but overall everything is good
  18. Thanks y'all! I leave for the hospital in 30 minutes!
  19. Your surgeon is gonna do the surgery with you having a head cold?
  20. Yes. I have Southern California Kaiser. I had to take 3 months of classes, as well as multiple tests and dr visits, along with a psych evaluation. I thought it would never get here.
  21. I've been on the journey since March, tomorrow is finally the big day!!! I figured I'd be nervous by now but I'm not. I'm excited to start this new adventure. I'm sure when I get to the hospital tomorrow the nerves will set in. But I know I'm doing the right thing. Anyone else make it this far without being nervous?
  22. I agree! I haven't had surgery yet (3 days away) but I've already canceled my one week post op plans bc my dr said for the first 3 weeks my only job is to get outta bed, sip, sip, sip, and heal! I think that's wise. Plus you'll still have sutures that are healing. The last thing you want is unnecessary exposure to germs and folks with colds, flu, pneumonia, etc. There will be tons of time in the future you'll want to go out. Your energy level and desire to have fun is going to grow and grow. Good luck with your surgery next week. Thanks Dub

  24. Being able to shop in the normal clothing sections. It's so hard to find cute, reasonable price plus sizes clothes! I'm also really looking forward to not being in pain all The time.
