4 weeks post-op, almost 1/2 way to goal
So far my tastebuds haven't changed like everyone else says they do. I hope you are right about feeling full on real food. Can't wait.

Sleep aids
Melatonin gives me horrible, freaky nightmares. Have you ever taken that before? If you take it, let me know if you had weird dreams/nightmares.

Dannngggg!!!! That's a great pic of you leaning up against the car. I would change the pic in your profile. LOL You are making a face that just doesn't look normal. LOL Don't go to 200. You look terrific at 220!!!

Sleep aids
I take 3-4 Benadryl tablets a night. I have for the past 20 years and still do.

Oh okay. I was thinking, wow, your doctor said you can eat regular food only 1 week after surgery. Lucky!! My doctor told me that I could eat whatever up until my surgery. If I weighed alot more, I would have had to lose weight before the surgery. From the time I first met the doctor and the time I went in for surgery, I gained 7 pounds. Like ExcitedNana said, I ate everything I loved knowing I would never have it again or woudn't have it for a long time. I like her wording, food funerals. LOL Very clever. What is your height and weight now and what is your goal?

Is 8oz too much?
I have been able to drink alot more than 4 oz. per meal. I remember the 2nd day in the hospital when they brought me 4 oz. of broth, jello, 2 4 oz. drinks. I drank them all one after the other. The nurse came in and asked where all the food (liquids) were. I told her that I drank them all. She said I was suppose to have only 1 every hour or so. Oops. Didn't hear the nurse or doctor say that. Didn't bother my stomach at all.

@@LMolina1987 When was your surgery? How many weeks were you on liquids (post-up) before the doc said you could eat normal foods? What state do you live in?

@@LMolina1987 What foods were you eating? I'm feeling the same way. The doctor said I can start eating more dense foods but I fear of gaining weight and may have to go on the liquid diet again. Let me know how that goes for you.

Haven't had a felling of fullness
I sure hope everyone is right on here about feeling full once you start on more dense (solid) foods. I am always hungry. I am almost one month post-op. Can't wait to eat normal foods again. This liquid diet is terrible and finally feel a tiny bit of satisfaction with yogurt. Ready for the real stuff.

4 weeks post-op, almost 1/2 way to goal
@@Margie122 I too was readmitted to the hospital after vomiting and dry heaving, etc. My problem was a bowel obstruction. Why were you readmitted? I'm happy to say that I am alive and well. This only happens to 2% of patients. I just happen to be one of them. I had my original surgery on 8-19-15 and was readmitted for emergency surgery on 8-24-15 and stayed 3 days in the hospital. I haven't had any problems with eating or drinking. I have been hungry all the time and am ready for some REAL food.

Embarrassing question for Isopure protein drink users......
@@javiles I'm glad I'm not the only one. Do you have diarreah with it? It is like a dark dark green. What flavor are you on? I have the Banana Creme. I am waiting for the Strawberry Creme to ccome in. Wonder if it is going to come "out" the same yucky color.

Overeating
@@confusedgirl18 I feel the same way, I never seem to feel full. I read all these posts that people get full on 2pieces of sushi, 2-3 bites of this or that. Im jealous. I am 3 weeks post-op and still on liquids. I find when I drink the broth from ramon noodles, I will eat a few ramen noodles hoping to feel full and I never do. Wondering if the doctor cut enough of my stomach out. Im always hungry!!!! Will it ever change?

Sushi?
What about the sushi with brown rice?

Phentermine - Thoughts?
I was on that years ago on and off. I almost wasnt able to have the surgery because of the lasting effects it has left on my heart, my health. Maybe try the herbal brand. It is less expensive and safer. Just go online. The name of it is almost the same. It is worth a try. I cannot believe your dr. suggested you take that. I now have a heart condition that will never go away. It is not worth the 20 lbs.

Premier Protein Shakes
I haven't had any problems with them. I love the strawberry and Cream and chocolate one. My doc didn't want me to start on the shakes until 2 weeks after surgery. I have now switched to Isopure Zero Carbs. You will need to get more Protein in you. The Isopure has 50 grams of protein.

I'm scared
I heard no more than 100 carbs a day

Protein Bars
When can we eat protein bars?

Recommended level of carbs in the diet - research
OMG, my Protein drinks have more carbs than what you take in a day. I don't know how you do it. EVERYTHING has carbs. I don't know if I could live without carbs. It's bad enough that I may never have pizza, Pasta, BREAD again. This is getting more and more depressing.

Not loosing weight! Help!
I had surgery on Aug. 19th but then had complications and was sent back to the hospital for emergency surgery again on Aug. 24th. I came home with more weight on me than before I was admitted to the hospital. Like svasquez said, your body is catching up to the trauma. I'm the kind of person to get on the scale at least twice a day. I get discouraged everytime I don't see a pound being lost. It will come, don't worry. I got depressed and everyone that had surgery that I have become friends with on here is going through the same thing. I'm sick of broth, broth, broth.
