  1. Hi, I am 4 days post op and the gas pains were horrible, a thought came to me to eat more food so the pain would go away. However, I have not given in and will follow the orders of my Doctor. I would follow only what the doctor says; yes the thought will come to break the rules , but remember you have a goal you have to reach. Gas pains are easing up day by day.
  2. How is the sleeve working for you?
  3. Hi, everyone thank you for your prayers, they were answered by God. I am doing fine, except for gas pains. Surgery went very well, to God be the Glory.
  4. :rolleyes2: Hi, I am 3 days post op and I am still dealing with gas after I drink liquids of any kind. I am not throwing up and it is staying down, but I think I am not taking in enough liquids. My throat is sore, they did put a pipe down during surgery, anyone else experience this? The back of both calves seem like they are trying to cramp up. I can get a little bit more liquid in today without extreme gas pains. Any support would help. I hope this is going away soon.
  5. Congrats! I was banded Monday, the gas pains are a pain in the neck, but I will survive.
  6. I am not in complication Lap Band denial. I am sure there are complications to any type of WLS surgery. To some it may be minor and others extreme complications. Who are we to say that this man is lying or have a motive? If he is lying , oh well, life goes on. I admit if I would have read this I probably would have had seconds thoughts about being banded on Monday. If not, we need to support him like we do everyone else. I will not accuse this person without facts.
  7. Hi, I am sorry you are having so many complications with the Lap Band. I am praying for you that all things work out well. Be blessed and know that God is with you.
  8. Hi, first I want to thank God who is # 1 in my life and I thank him for the people on this forum, you helped me to decide to have this surgery. I have learned so much from all of you. Thanks so much.
  9. Hi, I was banded yesterday, having a lot of gas pain, but other than that, I am fine. I am on a clear liquids for a week, then next week I am on regular liquids. Then week three soft mushy foods and week four 3 meals a day and a two snacks, of course staying away from certain foods. I am not going through this pain for nothing,I will eat right. I was on a liquid diet prior to surgery so I am used to it now, just worried about not getting enough vitamins and a little apprehensive about taking pills because of the gas pains. Any suggestions?
  10. It could be the coedine, i can not take it, it makes my gas pain worse.
  11. Hi, I had to pay 75.00 for a nutrition eval, but if you live near an MTF it should be done without any charge, you would think.
  12. Hi, I had surgery today, the pain from the surgery is fine, but I am trhrowing up air, the pain is horrible from the gas. I am pretty much pain tolerant, however, this gas pain is something else. I think that walking and the incline helps, this is my first day. I notice when I take the pain medicine it worsens as mommakatx2 said in another post. Hands over the head is working. The incision pain does not really hurt, I am thinking of not taking it until I am in really in pain.

I am pretty much pain tolerant, however, this gas pain is something else. I think that walking and the incline helps, this is my first day. The incision pain does not really hurt, I am thinking of not taking it until I am in really in pain.
  14. Hi, I was instructed by my surgeon at pre-op to do this.
  15. Hi, my surgery is Monday too, I am drinking some stuff called Phososoda to clean me out.
  16. Hi, Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Virginia does it.
  17. Hi, anyone used Dr. Titus Duncan for their lap-band surgery? If so, how did he do?
  18. Congrats, mommakatx2!
  19. Hi, I am asking for the prayers of the saints. I have surgery on Monday, and I am a little apprehensive because I have never had surgery of any kind. I have lost weight many times with God's help; however, God knows me better than I know myself. I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me. I have taken care of a lot of other people, but it is now time to take care of me. Pray for me.
  20. Hi, are you a 100lbs overweight? Do you have a co-morbidity? If not, those could me reasons why. Let us know what the doc says.
  21. irideagh, you have lost 22lbs in several weeks? You are doing great. Are you still sore or in any pain? I getting ready to go in this month to have the procedure done. Thanks.
  22. H8thew, congratulations. Tricare really does not require a whole lot; you either meet the criteria of being 100lbs overweight with co-morb (for short) or 200% of you weight with no co- morb. My bariatric surgeon required clearances from cardiology, PCM, pulmonology, psych eval, and nutrition eval. Tricare requires none of this, but your surgeon may. I did all this before ever seeing the surgeon, then they submitted my referral after all my clearances and I was approved quickly. I am glad they requested clearances because I have never had any surgery of any kind so I wanted to be cleared too. I was approved before my intial consult with the surgeon. Tricare is the easiest to me to get approved after reading about the other insurances. .
  23. Gina, did you say you did not meet the wieght requirement? You seem like you meet the weight requirement according to what you posted above. Just trying to get an understanding. If you are not a 100lbs overweight they probably will not approve it. Even if you have one comorbidity and you do not meet the weight requirement, there is a great possibility you will not be approved.
  24. Hi, I was just approved. Tricare does not go by BMI. You must be at least 100lbs overweight (acccording to the metropolitan life charts) with 2 co-mordbidities or you must be 200% overweight. If you are 200% of your weight you do not have to have any co-mordbities.
  25. Congrats! Hi, I am right behind you, in April as well.
