I'm looking for anyone else whose saving for their sleeve. My insurance went cover it, I don't have a hiatal hernia, I can't take on anymore debt, and I'm not sure if I want to travel once I have enough saved to have it done cheaper in Mexico. I've met with and chosen my surgeon, completed and passed psyc eval, scheduled sleep study, and built my support system. I just need to keep saving to get my sleeve. If you are in a similar situation, maybe we can keep each other accountable and encouraged until we reach our goals.

Have you considered saving and going to another state? I'll have to travel to South Louisiana and pay about $11K or to Dallas, TX and pay $12K. Both of these beat paying $15K-$20K where I live in North Louisiana.

I'm in the same boat. I'm saving for the next few months. Mexico is an option, but I'll have to save for it, too.

@martitarobbins is my ig. It's general motivation for now. No vsg posts are there until I get my date and start pre-op diet.

Mine was with my therapist. She wanted to know what I'd done before to lose weight, why I chose surgery, what support system I have in place, how does my family feel about my surgery, what changes I'm willing to make long-term, how I will deal with changes/people as they occur post-op, what I've been doing to deal with emotional eating and food addiction (which I've been working with her on for a few months) and basically how invested I am to following through and following up. Not sure if that's the standard eval, but that's my experience. Took a little less than an hour. see above
