  1. Thanks for the replies, guess I should make the most of the extra time ????
  2. I'm 11 days out too, generally feeling pretty good but am not planning to go back to work until Friday as I don't really want to drive too much this week, but I feel well enough although not sure if I'll get more tired once I'm back.
  3. Good luck, not that you'll need it
  4. Did anyone else have a sort of insomnia post surgery? I'm not in pain or terribly tired I just don't seem to need to sleep at the moment, I've tried to be disciplined and go to bed at a sensible time, staying busy and not napping during the day but it doesn't seem to make any difference. It's not a huge problem to me and seems trivial compared to others troubles but I guess I'm curious if this is common.
  5. B12 deficiency is known to cause the sorts of symptoms you describe definitely worth getting it checked out.
  6. Thanks I've been pretty lucky compared to others who have had long waits, nausea, pain and other complications. I'm here for the long haul, tomorrow's adventure is the first meeting at a new gym with the intention of joining - only slightly daunting but I'll be brave Thanks I've been pretty lucky compared to others who have had long waits, nausea, pain and other complications. 7. I hope nobody minds me sharing, I'm still very early in my journey - my first appointment was two months and two days ago, my surgery was five days ago and since the start of this process as of today I am 50lbs down, 10lbs since surgery. I still have a long way to go but felt I wanted to share this small victory as I have found reading all of your posts inspiring and hope this may help another embarking on this brave journey.
  8. Congratulations and take care, looking forward to seeing your posts soon after
  9. I have to agree the wait is the worst, I'm another self pay but have been waiting since August - only three more days to go
  10. I can't wait for it to be over now, I've prepared myself in my mind although I am a little nervous as I've never had surgery before but I have confidence in the surgeon I've chosen and done everything I can to prepare so I am confident there is nothing I can change at this point.
  11. I'm in the UK too and I'm scheduled for October 1st ☺️
  12. I am still pre-op but I do recognise that this process is possibly more about mental preparation than physical, if you haven't been able to so far take the time to speak to someone impartial a counsellor or your surgeon they are best placed to advise you regarding your fears, family and friends do not always provide the best advice. I hope that your path becomes clearer and whatever you decide those around you support your decision.
  13. Congratulations, it's not far away either
  14. Congratulations - hope your continuing journey is trouble free
  15. Brilliant thanks Kate I'll add them to my shopping
  16. Hi All, I'm based in the UK and very early on my journey, I am self funding and have a surgery date of October 1st and I am trying to get myself prepared and I was wondering if there are any particular vitamins available in the UK that anyone would like to recommend. Any suggestions would be gratefully received - thanks ????
  17. Another advocate of the Fitbit, I've got the charge HR too, I'm still quite early on my journey but using it and the app really focus me on what I'm doing. The sleep function is quite interesting too
  18. Mine is October 1st - counting the days now
