  1. i would like to follow this as well. Great question.
  2. My whole first week was entirely liquid, @@pink22 and they weren't concerned. Just told me to focus even more on liquids to prevent dehydration.
  3. It only gets better from here. In a few days you'll be really amazed at how quickly your pain decreases. Try to get in some short, slow walks, and just keep sipping, sipping, sipping, and you'll be just fine very soon.
  4. @@winklie that is exactly where I am right now. My ever-faithful smooth move tea was no match for the hardcore antibiotic and pain pills I've been on for the past week since getting my impacted wisdom tooth out. I had to break out the big guns today because I couldn't stand the infrequent pebbles and intestinal cramps. Thanks for coming through for me, MoM.
  5. that always annoyed me too. My bari office's scale was 7 pounds more than my home scale, which is calibrated daily and accurate to .1 of a pound.
  6. Ugh, what a nightmare! This guy doesn't even deserve the title of doctor. Not only did he screw up monumentally but now he's trying to cover his ass from all angles instead of fixing his botched work. not only is he an awful doctor but he's an awful person. I hope you have much better luck and professionalism with your next surgeon!
  7. My highest weight is very similar to your starting weight. I can only hope to be as successful as you have been by next August. congrats, and thanks for sharing!
  8. @@Djmohr I'm drinking the raspberry hot chocolate from BP right now!
  9. Hey, I'm 23 too! I'm Abby, from Rochester NY. I had my RNY on August 17th, so I'm only 4 months post op. I started at a higher BMI as well. Can't wait to be 170 pounds down from surgery. It's nice to meet you.
  10. Always so entertaining. XD The only thing I would add, for people who don't want to go straight to Miralax or MoM, is perhaps Smooth Move tea... worked wonders for me. In fact, based on the bitchiness of my own ass this evening, i think it's time to brew up another mug or two.
  11. Congratulations! You look incredible. 100 pounds is no small feat! Thank you for sharing.
  12. it's possible that you are eating a bit too quickly. I actually get a burpy kind of feeling when I'm full, and that's my signal to either slow waayyyy down or stop eating for now.
  13. it's true that your stomach can only hold a certain amount. But if you're drinking slowly, some of the Fluid will have passed through your stomach before you finish the whole 6 oz. Everything moves through much faster now. Just follow the plan, and keep taking care of yourself, and the weight will fall off. I think a lot of people have that anxiety that something will go wrong, or the surgery won't work, etc. But the scariest part is over, now it's all about focusing on your health and healing. You'll do just fine.
  14. Welcome Good to hear you are doing well.
  15. Yes, I understand. I feel the same way sometimes. Like I'm just separated from other people. This is a huge life change, as big as getting married or having children. It would be crazy if we didn't have some strong, conflicting emotions about it and during it. People here care. Feel free to PM me if you'd like.
  16. We didn't exactly go all out but the kitties seem to approve anyway http://imgur.com/9b7hO2S http://imgur.com/Moqsac3
  17. Oh, I'm really glad it's working for you. I missed which forum this was in... I don't use mobile often, haha.
  18. It's completely normal to be all over the place emotionally. This is a huge change you're going through and there are even bigger changes coming soon. I'd be worried if you didn't care. But you can do it, and you won't regret it when all is said and done. Good luck!
  19. December 22nd is my birthday! Obviously you're going to have good luck that day. And I know this pre op diet stinks and feels really hard, but it gets easier. You can do it! All your hard work will pay off in a fantastic way in the end. Keep your chin up and your determination strong.
  20. Premier Protein is really yummy, and it doesn't have any sugar alcohols and only 1 gram of sugar. I like the chocolate best.
  21. I would recommend getting the Protein bouillon and hot chocolate from the bariatric pal store. They come in packets, usually 7 to a box, and they only need 8 ounces of hot Water to dissolve in. Plus, they are healthy and have at least 15g of protein per pack. I always have a couple packets with me just in case. the beef is the best bouillon flavor and the raspberry hot chocolate is sooo good.
  22. Vyvanse was always the most effective (really the only) medicine for me to treat my ADHD. I've been off of it for a year but I'm contemplating going back on it. No weird side effects? Doesn't it make you just hate food and have trouble getting all your calories in? I've worried about this.
  23. Hello and welcome! I had my RNY in August and I'm down about 70 pounds since then. I started thinking about it last year, and the program took about 7 months once I got going. Feel free to friend/message me if there's anything I can do to help you. It's a great site full of awesome people here.
  24. My boyfriend has actually mentioned something like this, though I haven't noticed, which is odd because my sense of smell has been near superhuman levels since surgery. I smell Water when I turn the sink on. But he says that I don't smell better or worse, just different. It would make sense, because our bodies go through HUUUUUGE metabolic and hormonal changes.
