  1. Normal to not lose for a month now? I haven't lost in about a month. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. I was in a stall for almost 4 weeks. Mind you I had my VSG on 8/2/16 so not even three months ago. I was -30 pounds for everrrrrrrr. I finally broke free and I'm -40 pounds as of today. It happens. Dont stress or obsess. I did both. And self sabotaged at times. But I worked through the emotions and got a stomach bug (ha, lost two pounds bc of that). Some days I don't feel like I look different. That may take a while. But I feel different. And I genuinely feel like if I never lost a pound ever again (god I hope not) but I wouldn't regret this surgery. Because of this surgery I have lost 40 pounds. Wow. 4. I'm almost 3 months post op and I have stomach flu. This is TERRIBLE. I haven't had the stomach flu in 10 or so years. The vomiting and diarrhea is just awful. I went to dr. They have me some meds. Does anyone have any "go to" beverages? I cannot handle Water. I don't want to do tea bc of the caffeine. I have been drinking Powerade zero as much as possible and had some diet ginger ale. I went from nauseated to now cramping--- probably bc of all the meds and this is so rough on my tummy. Is there anything that helped you guys ever? I'm desperate and miserable. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. I went about 4 weeks without losing and just lost about 3.5 pounds this week. I was sleeved 8/2 Day of surgery I was 264.5 Today I am 228 Total loss of 36.5 pounds in three months. That seems so low. I know, everyone is different but it makes me nervous how I didn't lose anything for almost 4 weeks and the pounds yo yo. Trying not to weigh everyday. My scale stays in the same spot and i weigh the same time of day when I do weigh myself. And I exercise for at least 30 min a day. I went from size 22/24 to 18/20 so haven't lost a crazy amount of inches. I am staying low carb, high Protein. I do have a sleeve of steel. Literally. Which is a blessing and a curse. Thoughts? Also... I cannot catch a break with getting sick. In the last three months I've been sick every few weeks. I have a really bad case of bronchitis right now. Been to the doctor 3 times. Is this normal post op? Getting sick slows down everything, too. Did anyone else get so sick all of the time. Hmph. Some days, I think... "is this it? Is this all I'm going to lose?" Because I had been so stuck for a month. But just staying on track. If anything, this is 36.5 pounds I wouldn't have lost without vsg and I'm grateful. Also, what are your fav go to lean protein Snacks? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. We eat very similar things! I enjoy almonds and love the blue diamond almonds and get different flavors. I avoid the sugar ones. But love the habanero BBQ & salt and vinegar almonds. Love Colby jack cheese sticks. Beef jerky is good. But I have very specific ones that are low carb low sugar. I love making mini turkey burgers. I also LOVE roasted chicken wings. Especially from taco Mac. I love one specific be kind bar- it's the one with 5G of sugar and 8 net carbs. It's the cinnamon pecan flavor. I do enjoy Atkins trail Protein Bars. I also love salmon for a meal. And occasionally a slim Jim. Haha. Water is really heavy on my tummy. I drink unsweet tea a lot. Water usually has to be infused. 7. Thanks for being so encouraging. I think we all expect better of ourselves. And I've made little oopsies here and there. But thank you so much for your words of encouragement and HOPE. I've been tracking food and liquid intake yes. Doing well. What are you some of your fav lean Protein Snacks? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Straws

Apparently it can put unwanted air in your stomach which may cause discomfort. Drinking through a straw is the only way sometimes I can get my fluids in. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. One day post op. It's not "hard" to swallow. It's just every single Fluid burns my tummy and going down. Ugh! Is this normal!? Y'all gas pain are no freaking joke. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Stalling[emoji19]

I'm on my 4 th week. In 4 weeks I've lost 3 pounds. I'm 10 weeks post op. I understand your frustration. It's really discouraging. My input is: do what you're supposed to be doing and measure inches versus pounds. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. I'm 9 almost 10 weeks out. I've been -31 lbs for 3 almost 4 weeks. Super discouraged. Getting all my Protein, liquids, Vitamins, and working out. I'm able to eat larger amounts which scares me. I can eat about two small turkey burgers at a time. I can eat one full burger and some veggies. I can eat a small salad. Etc. I can eat good amounts. I'm nervous. Stall. I know, eye roll

I don't know. What is your protein target? 60 grams seems low. Mine is 100 grams. Surgeon and NUT say 60-80 grams. But, usually I eat more protein than today. I aim for 70. I see my surgeon again in NOV and he said he may up my protein intake. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Stall. I know, eye roll

I put everything in my fitness pal today. I am done eating and ate 653 calories and 60 grams of Protein. My dinner involved Beans so my carb intake was higher. Does that seem about right? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Restriction

What to do when you don't feel restriction... am I freaking myself out? Why can I fit so much more than what you've all been able to? I've called surgeon. He reassured me that nothing's wrong. I'm changing things up tomorrow as far as no carb. I am very low carb but going no carb. Back to shakes if possible. Just bummed. And stalling, as posted earlier. Sure I can't fit the same amount of food as prior to surgery and I never force anything. But I'm never uncomfortable, never feel restricted, and have never ever had a weird or adverse reaction to anything I've tried. Ever. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Stall. I know, eye roll

@@Clarevoyant no, not really. I eat till I'm satisfied and stop. I don't feel much restriction at all. I stay under 1000 calories. Though my surgeon didn't give me a caloric intake restriction. High Protein. But not much restriction at all. I have other cues. But, that's it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. Coming here for support. I have made some not so great food choices. I'm 7 almost 8 weeks post op and allowed foods as tolerated. I've tolerated everything. Including not so great stuff. Breads, sugar, etc. I noticed over this past week and weekend I've just made stupid decisions when it came to food. I've been seeing my therapist still so there is that support and help. But, I don't want to have the mind set "I'll just fail this time too" or "its too late now" anymore. I just feel like that's my mindset when I mess up or make a bad food choice. Any words of help or support? Anyone relate? Really bummed. I'm down 33 lbs since surgery. That's encouraging but I'm stalling. Partially BC of my choices, I'm sure. 6 weeks

Tell me your 6/7 week stats and what you're eating/ate! Would love to know. I'm in a stall right now. I've been in a stall for a while. I'm doing okay though! SW: 264.4 CW: 231 I'm tolerating everything fine. Can really feel restriction now to an extent. I wasn't the first 4 weeks which scared me. I'm tolerating all foods and trying all allowed foods. Which is everything right now. Minus the obvious. Today I went to taco Mac. Got three roasted wings down. Was stuffed as a goose. Crazy I used to eat 10! 24. Hi! Doing well. I'm down 30 pounds. And a size in clothing. I'm meeting my Protein and Fluid goals. I feel like I'm able to eat a lot. Like more than I thought?? I am tolerating everything I'm allowed to eat. meats, veggies, etc. I am eating homemade turkey burgers, beef, chicken, etc and doing great. No feelings of "stuck" no nausea etc. I sneeze or burp or hiccup and I'm done. No tightness. I eat till i receive my "ques" or satisfied. Eating about every 2-3 hours (surgeon calls for 5-6 Smalls meals VS 3 meals a day) For dinner I had one turkey burger (2.5 ounces) and a side of cheese. Ate it all. Yesterday, I had one "treat" that was allowed. Whole grain Cereal & unsweetened milk and had about 1/2 a cup. Tummy did great. I'm just overthinking maybe. Idk. Anyway, I guess I need reassurance that you guys were doing well too one month out and can tolerate more food, too. I ate 750 calories today. Which seems like a lot. Maybe not. No caloric restriction from surgeon. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
