  1. I ate some 6 weeks out, no issues. My Dr cleared me for all foods excluding fried and sweet foods, and carbonated beverages.

    2+ weeks post op

I stopped losing for 7 or 8 days around 3 weeks. The infamous 3 week stall..Google it. It will last for a week or two the the weight comes off again. No worries!

    2+ weeks post op

my 3rd week was a plateau, weight stayed unchanged for 8 days. Now losing again, down a good 30 pounds since surgery. (Start weight 265 lbs and BMI 38). Good luck!
  4. Today am one month out, down 14 KGS (around 30 lbs). Start weight was 121 KG (266 lbs). Am very happy with circa 12% loss of body weight in 1 month, but rate is now slowing down to 1 KG (2-2.5 lbs) per week.

    2+ weeks post op

New beginnings, we are about the same age (I am Jan 66) and I think we were both sleeved on the 29th. All the best! I lost around 18 pounds since surgery. Not much pain either and started working (albeit shorter days) from day 5 post op. How are you doing?

    2+ weeks post op

Am on day 9 as well. Was on water, diluted juice and clear broth till today. Today I was cleared for Yogurt and milk, low fat. In 5 more days I could have puddings. My doc told me no protein shakes till 3 weeks post op. Every doctor has a system..

    Unexpected feeling

I am one week out as well (sleeved July 29th) and am still on clear liquid diet. Seeing surgeon on Saturday (in 2 days) to hopefully move me to all liquid. Too early for baby food I think (each doctor have their own protocol, mine is ultra careful ₩

    Type 2 diabetes

Sleeved 29 July. 15 years type 2 Diabetic. Stopped all meds since surgery and blood sugar levels are reasonable (I check several times daily). Am still on liquid diet so I hope I still don't need the meds when I hopefully move on to next nutritional stage. Happy to be off my meds.

Pre op vs post op diet

For me post op was just fine till day 8 (I. E. Today) .. then the hunger struck seeing doc in 2 days for follow up so will behave till then. Am still on clear liquids..

Welcome on board. You picked a great place
  16. Had my sleeve surgery 29 July, down 6 Kilos (13 pounds?) in 6 days. No pre- op diet. So far am happy with results.
  17. Thanks Jim and everyone who encouraged me. I drove to work today (4 days post op) and it was just fine (I worked shorter hours, not fully there yet).
  18. Hello fellow sleevers. I just got mine 4 days ago, recovering well, discharged yesterday. I drove a short distance this morning to nearest clinic to get my daily "anti clot" shot, felt very weak and not focused (but made it safely). Any idea when I can drive with confidence again?

I thought you don't take any vitamins yet? @@treed

I didn't get a plan yet. He asked me to take 1.5 liters (around 5 oz) of water, clear broth and unsweetened juices for 8 days then go meet him for a checkup. I assume that's when I'll get my nutrition plan. Will wait. Thanks for advice, always great to compare notes.

Santiago, have you been prescribed a liquid Vitamin yet? I haven't, but wondering if my doctor forgot. I also got my surgery last Wednesday.
  22. Thanks Treed for advice. July 29th too? I was discharged July 31st (extra conservative doctor, didn't let me drink a sip of water till 2 days post op). Good luck with your recovery. In all fairness I'm drinking well, keeping fluids down, and pain at this stage is negligible. Thank you Shustar!

    Gas

My surgery was 4 days ago.. when I woke up it was like someone had punched me in the tummy. Painful but not too bad. I started walking very lightly like 3 hours after surgery (to the bathroom, around the room) and I felt it getting better every few steps. Day 2 is better, day 3 it's just a minor occasional nuisance. Good luck.

    Sleep

Am 3 days post op and am ok sleeping on my right side. Left side uncomfortable and sleeping on tummy a bit painful. Was able to sleep on right side the same night as operation, but was being given some tough painkillers. Now I'm on liquid paracetamol which is very weak. Good luck.
  25. My surgery took 1:30 hours but my doctor does his leak test during the operation. I was placed for another circa 2 hours in recovery, so I woke up in an area near operating theater and stayed there a bit before being carted back to my room.
