Coffee
That's what I am trying to say. Caffeine or Decaf are both acidic so it doesn't matter if you are drinking decaf... it's the acid that is the culprit

Coffee
I do not drink soda, hot decaf tea yes (which I understand decaf is never completely caffeine free) I have never had an ulcer or think I am prone to one. 27 yrs old 210lbs. 5.5" Just thinking about how much smaller our stomachs are would make me think (to much) caffinated or even decaf may cause some issues down the road

Coffee
Exactly my point. It's not like someone has had the sleeve for such a long period of time seeing it is still considered "new". Maybe the effects don't happen until 5-10 years down the road... Thanks for the response

Coffee
I would be interested in long term effects as well. Too much acid for our small stomachs? Just questions I wonder about...

Coffee
I have seen a lot of people talking about drinking coffee. Some even say they drink caffinated coffee. I have always been fine with drinking decaf since I had my kids so close and felt like I was nursing for 2 years straight... As per my doctor, his plan calls for NO COFFEE, even DECAF EVER AGAIN!!! Something about the acidity and ulcers I believe. What were some other people rules with coffee? Thanks

Please share your 1-3 month losses
Hello! I saw that we started at the same weight 215 lbs day of surgery. I will be one week out tomorrow and am currently about 210lbs. How has your weight loss been since starting at a smaller weight then most? Just curious... I know everyone is different! I am also a lapband to sleeve revision, so I have been told my weight loss may be much slower. THANKS

Stages
Hello Everyone! I was sleeved on 1/25, so I will be one week out tomorrow! My food stages look like this (as per doctor and NUT) STAGE ONE- Clear liquids *Day of and Day after Surgery STAGE TWO- Full Liquids *Day 3 until 2 week Post Op Appt (Surgeon will clear) STAGE THREE- Soft Foods including... deli meats, steamed fished, eggs, Beans, melted cheese, dry toast, crackers, tuna, yogurt... *2 weeks post op- 2 month post op Appt My question is... Has anyone else had similar stages; time wise? I am happy to be able to start eating way more stuff next week, but I see most people post about being on Full liquid/purees for 4 weeks. Has anyone else started soft foods at 2 weeks post op?

Post op day two, help
Great post with lots of information and assurance! I was sleeved on Monday the 25th and the first day home was absolutely miserable. As of yesterday, and even more so today I am feeling pretty good!!! Haven't needed to take any pain meds. Only struggling to get enough fluids in. Just focusing on that and resting so I do not over exert myself. Other than that, just a little sore on the incision sites (but that's to be expected) Goodluck and well wishes to everyone!!!!

Update
Thanks for your response. I just feel puffy, sore and exactly like you said... like I got run over by a truck. I guess I am just even more defeated because I wasn't expecting it to be this bad. Definitely not pain free in any way, but also nothing Close to this amount of pain!

At the ER with burning pain
What did they say happened? Are you home or still in the hospital? So sorry you are dealing with this. I just had my surgery on Monday.

Surgery today. Miserable...any advice?
I just had my surgery on Monday. I am still so uncomfortable and in a lot of pain. What I wouldn't give to sleep on my side. I am actually finding it more difficult to get comfortable at home than I was at the hospital. Praying this passes a bit faster. I feel like death! And a big CONGRATS. I would love to stay in touch with our progress and experiences

Update
Hello My friends! I had my lapband removal and sleeve revision done on Monday around noon. I have been home since yesterday afternoon and sadly am not one of you who has been pain free. I was hoping I was going to be pretty "ok" especially since I have a high pain tolerance, am younger and felt like I really prepared myself. I feel like absolute death! Sometimes it hurts to sip, hurts to breath, hurts to move, hurts to just be.... I know this will all pass, but I am just discouraged with the amount of pain I am in. I was sent home with liquid Hydrocodone and am allowed to take 10 ml every 6 hours... I have been using gas X pills as well. They seems to help (a little) when first taken, but definitely only about 1-2 hours long out of the 6 hour time frame. Hope everyone is well. Just focusing on getting myself better

Kids after Surgery
Thank you so much for your reply. I may be able to get some help during the day. I guess my main worry would be a leak if picking up my littlest. I am very nervous about that!!!! Someone will have them for seven full days, but then after that I will have them during the day time until my husband gets home as well. I may be able to get a relative to come help out during the day...

Kids after Surgery
Hello everyone! I am having a lapband to sleeve revision this upcoming Monday 1/25. I have two children ages 2.5 and 1 years old. The one year old does not currently walk. My mom will have them at her house for a week after the surgery. (7 days) After that she is unavailable to help. My question is for people specifically with little kids/babies. How long after sugery could you start to do things? I am very nervous and anxious as to what will happen. Thanks

Any one around 26 years old? ?
What insurance do you have that covers a boob lift and tummy tuck? That's great

Overnight
With the revision I know it is a one night stay. My question is, who (if anyone) stayed the night with you? Did someone just drop you off and come back and pick you up the next day? We live approx 1.5 hours away from the hospital and I am just wondering what others, who have had to travel have done. Thanks

Revision done in one or two surgeries?
That's awesome! How has your weight loss been? CONGRATS

Goal weight
Are you a revision?

Congrats Babbs! We are pretty similar. How long did it take you to lose the weight? I am also hoping revisions chime in! It seems that we tend to lose slower!

Weight Loss and what to expect
Hello Everyone. I have my revision from lapband to sleeve scheduled for the 25th of this month. I am currently 220lbs, 5.5" and plan on being around 215 lbs the day of surgery. My question is, will the sleeve help me reach my goal of 150 lbs. I have seen a lot of posts of lower 200's not loosing very much with the sleeve (when it is a revision). Looking for personal experiences and insight! Thanks

Surgeons Stats...
I believe what he meant was since I have not had a slip, or something medically go wrong with my lapband he doesn't want others to feel they can come in and get revised. I personally have had a hard time with finding a sweet spot and it's always toot tight or too open. I believe after having my babies everything got moved around. I have been successful with the lapband, but am so ready for it to be gone!

Surgeons Stats...
I would like to know what some stats of everyone's surgeons were? I asked mine how many revisions he has performed. And out of all of them, how many were done in one procedure. His answer was, "These revisions are rare, I have done half a dozen, same as my partners. Almost all of them we did at the same time." He is the head surgeon at a top bariatric hospital in my region, and has performed hundreds of sleeves, but now I am aware only half a dozen revisions.... He informed me that the hospital he works for does not like to condone revisions. Just because they don't want people to feel as if they can just get them whenever. My surgery is scheduled January 25th. Thanks friends!
