  1. I was told later after surgery. I don't remember how long.
  2. I bought a snow cone machine. The lady at the store said I could put anything on it. Like crystal light. Someone else said you can get some kind of ice pebbles by the bag at Sonic. If you use them it's more like snow thank snow cones.
  3. Good luck on your surgery! I am excited for all the August people. It starts tomorrow. I am not till the 25th so most will be done before then.
  4. i have joined the group. I am having a RNY on Aug 25th. There are a mixture of surgeries.
  5. I asked my surgeon today of the odds of them not being able to do the RNY due to scar tissue. He said it is rare. One in about 500. That just can't be done.
  6. I have had a previous hysterectomy started as a lap but they had to do an open. I had gallbladder surgery. The WLS plans on doing a RNY, but said if I have too much scar tissue he would have to do a sleeve. I talked to someone in the office that told me he has only had 2 people he has to do an open surgery. Usually not a problem but they put it on your agreement papers so they can do a surgery in case there are problems. So I have my fingers crossed. My surgery date is Aug 25. We will see.
  7. Just got my date. RNY August 25th. I see the doctor for my pre op surgery this Wednesday. He will give me all my prep stuff. The true count down has started. I started this journey the end of January when I found out I was diabetic, had high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I already had sleep apnea. I asked the doctor for a referral for WLS. So I started classes the end of February. For 3 months. Then I started doing all the testing that the doctor requested. Did one pre op with the surgeon. I have lost 47 pounds. I have 80 more to go to the doctors goal. 100 to my goal. I have a 1200 - 1400 calorie doctors diet I will start Wednesday. It is high protein low carb. Basically what will be my post op diet when I can start eating full food. I only get a 3 day true pre op diet.
  8. I went from Crocs to Sketchers, I have now changed to Merrell shoes. They are the best.
  9. I thought I was losing my mind. Okay I was pretty sure I was.
  10. I had my gallbladder out too and my surgeon told me that they would actually use my old scars as a road map and that it made things easier. As for the hysterectomy, I don't think that will really cause too much issue, as long as there aren't too many adhesions. They only need to be able to make it to top part of the small bowel, so if they gave you a lower transverse cut like with a csection when they did it, it'll probably not be an issue at all. That makes me happy! I really want the RNY. With diabetes and high blood pressure. I also love sugar, but I gave it up in January when I found out I had diabetes.
  11. I wish you luck on your surgery. Funny how you had to many adhesions and scar tissue before now they are trying to do it again. Unless they are doing an open surgery. Although times are changing they do lots of WLS surgeries. Good luck again. I am hoping for surgery the end of August.
  12. Do they tell the same thing to every patient? Or at least ones who have had other surgeries. I wonder how hard they try to do the RNY over the other one.
  13. outsideMatchInside no I had them at separate times. But they all cause scar tissue.
  14. I had my gallbladder removed plus I had hysterectomy. The gallbladder was laparoscopic but the hysterectomy had to be open.
  15. I saw the surgeon and he said if he can't do the RNY due to scar tissue he would have to do the sleeve. I was wondering how many people this happens too. I don't have a surgery date yet. I have finished all my test. They will schedule an appointment and the surgery when they get the results. Looking like the end of August first of September.
