  1. Hi there! I am Rhonda. Had mine Tuesday. I had the opposite. Every single person I told, and that was a lot, was supportive. I am very lucky! I am here for your!! This is your decision, not theirs.
  2. I have Aetna and was completely overwhelmed with the requirements. I had a 6 month diet option or a 3 month pre surgery get in shape kind of deal. I chose the 3 month plan. I kept logs and paperwork and in the end had to trust my dr office for all the fine details. You need to call insurance and get the policy fine writing that tells you requirements etc. I was approved in less than a week after paperwork was sent. My Drs office is great.... That is the key!!!!! Before you know it surgery is here! Good luck!!
  3. I tell ya I couldn't wait for them to knock me out!!! I had a bad experience with my cleanser, meaning my digestive system, and was grumpy and stressed. I woke up and it was done!! I did it!!!!!! Good luck and please stay in contact!!! Hugs!!
  4. I'm so excited for you! You have been such a support for me and others. I did mine Tuesday and had a rough one and a half day due to fever. I can't believe how well I am doing! No nausea or not much pain. My husband even commented! I can't wait to hear from you! Keep us all posted on how you feel . Good luck sweetie!!
  5. How did it go??? I had mine Tuesday. All went well. I got fever which is normal for me, and that made me feel bad. 3rd day today and I can tell you day three is much better. Rough couple of days, but you are having major surgery. Keep on pain meds!!! No nausea for me at all, just some gas pains in back and chest but not bad at all. WALK!!
  6. You can do this!!!!!!!! Try to differentiate between real hunger and head hunger. It is ok to be hungry . It won't kill you, I promise ????????. I am on my last day!!!! Surgery tomorrow. I will agree that cheating really makes you start all over. Who wants to have another day 1? The best advise I can give is to STAY BUSY!!! make up things to do. Do your xmas cards early. Just keep busy. When you feel hungry drink water. Lots of water to fill your stomach. Keep us posted!!!!!
  7. My surgery is tomorrow too!!!!!! I was doing really really well, getting excited, until the magnesium citrate Hahahahahaha. For some reason it made me puke my guts up!!!!!!! I think I drank it way too fast. I am starting on my second round now . Taking it very slowly. Gotta keep it down!!!!!
  8. Sleevemylife, tell me about your magnesium citrate. I have surgery tomorrow and drank mine at noon. I puked many times. Have a call in to doc....... Wanted to see if it were normal.
  9. YES!!!! I cheated. More than once. More than twice. It was at night, late. I think overall I did really well. I really dreaded it. I was afraid of feeling bad bad weak and having headaches. Thank goodness I didn't have to quit caffeine, just no sugar cream etc. I think what helped me the most is starting my variate iv Vitamins two weeks before my liquid pre op diet. I am very concerned about hair loss and feeling bad. I gotta tell ya, I only felt bad one day of the diet, day two. TODAY OS MY LAST DAY!!! Tomorrow is surgery. I made it!!! Almost anyway.
  10. Also, I check my email much more than I check this app. Feel free to email me at midlandrhonda@gmail.com
  11. Hey all y'all texas peeps!!!! Soooooo glad to see you here! I am from midland and I have my surgery in Dallas tomorrow! Yes, tomorrow! I am actually at winstar.... Stayed last night. Heading to hotel in Dallas in a bit. Someone is from West Texas. Do you mean the city of West or geographical west texas???? Midland is in west texas. My doc is victor Gonzalez. Yalls? I am happy to say I did survive the two week pre op liquid diet. However the last two days of Clear liquids with no Protein shakes has really sucked but having juice has saved me as sugar was not allowed before. I know I shouldn't really have it now but saved me . Please keep in touch. I need support!!!!!!! Starting to get a little nervous.
  12. I really like premier protein chocolate and vanilla shakes. Glad you found what you like!!!!!!
  13. Here is a big hug for you!!!!! You made the right decision! I have read so many post about people that dont have any pain. I wonder how that is possible, but cool for them!!! You have lots of people here you can vent, b*tch to, and talk to. We are all in this together!!!!!! I have surgery Tuesday and and hoping for the no pain route I have had 2 C sections and 2 major knee surgeries so I am thinking I can handle the pain. I have to!!!!! I know it will get better and better and the outcome will be phenomenal!!! Hang in there, you CAN do this!!!! It WILL get better!!
  14. OK ! OK!! I admit it!!! I am a cheater!!!!!!!!!!! I am on day 9 of my 2 week pre op liquid diet. I have cheated several days. It is at night though. like around 9:00 or 10:00. I do great during the day when I am working because I am busy. I am not cheating anymore after last night. I am really disappointed in myself. This diet is NOT that difficult. I am actually doing really well; I mean I am not dying for food.... I have cheated because I have WANTED to, not HAD to. But no more. The last 2 days are clear liquid. I have lost about 5 pounds, and I know it needs to be more, so I am sticking with it until the end! I can do it!! I am strong!!!!!!!! My surgery is Tuesday. The time has absolutely flown!!!!! I cant believe it is almost here. Thanks for the tips... I agree, staying busy is the key.
  15. I have surgery next Tuesday, the 17th. I started my chewable bariatric Vitamins 10 days ago, in hopes that I would avoid the fatigue and hair loss. I guess we will see!!! What kinds of vitamins is everyone taking?
  16. I am on day 3, but lucky you get soup!!!!!! I get Protein shakes, broth, sugar free popsicles, and Water. I did GREAT the first day, not so great the second half of the second day, and so far today I feel really good. My doctor says you start feeling a lot better on day 3 because ketosis kicks in. My surgery is the 17th, close to your date~! This is the only step I have been nervous about. I was scared to be without food. It is not horrible like I thought, however, two weeks seems forever!!
  17. Ok, here we go. I started my liquid 2 week pre op diet yesterday. I was really having anxiety about it the last month which is not like me. I normally do not worry about much and am pretty calm. I felt your fear! I was so afraid I could not do it!!!!! food is one of my best friends. How could I be without it?????????? Yesterday, as I said, my first day, was INCREDIBLE! I did it! Well almost..... I can have five shakes, broth, unsweetened tea, coffee. I had a shake every 3-5 hours with broth in between if I needed it. I felt hungry sometimes, but it was completely bearable. It wasnt horrible at all!! I couldnt believe it! I was so excited that I could actually do this and I wasnt miserable. I did stay busy at work which helped. So, I thought..... after such a good day, tomorrow will be the day it really sux and I am sure I will wake up with a headache and feel like crap all day. WRONG!!!! I still feel great!!! I did wait too long this morning to have my 2nd shake and I got really weak. But all is good now! I said I did it....almost. I could not go to sleep last night due to the neuropathy in my feet. It was really bad and I was really frustrated. I have to be at work at 7:00 am and I have to have my sleep. I ended up eating a weenie and a few spoons of chili. I was really disappointed in myself and I know it will not happen again. I wasnt starving, I just wanted it. Bad girl!!! I wish you the best of luck!!!
  18. I posted a little earlier this morning, but I do not see my post!! I also wanted to say that one main reason I was so worried was because I thought I could not have caffeine. I now know I can. I was already weaning off of it because I know if you stop cold turkey you will have huge headaches from caffeine withdrawal. Find out if you are allowed caffeine, and if not, start weaning off now. I am on my second day of liquid diet and I have felt great yesterday and today!!!
  19. Awesome! That is great news!!!!!! I was a bad girl last night. I did GREAT all day up until about 11:00. I couldnt sleep because the neuropathy in my feet was really bad, even after taking my meds. I was frustrated and ended up eating a weenie and a few spoons of chili. I wasnt starving, I just wanted it. I am really disappointed in myself and I will not let it happen again. Overall though, I was very proud of myself and thought I still did really well. I am doing good today, but waited a little too long to have my second shake today and got a little week. I am fine though and doing well I know being home after work is going to be the hardest time for me, late afternoon and evening. I want to take my neuropathy pills really early because they make me sleepy. It is great to hear how well you are doing! It inspires me!!! This pre op diet is not the two headed monster I thought it was going to be. I know me being able to have caffeine is a BIG help. Keep me posted!!!!
  20. I am completing day 1 of my pre op diet. All liquid. I am doing great!!! I can't believe I feel this good !!! You will do great!!!
  21. I am doing great! It's kinda scary! My doc says the first 48 hours are the hardest. Soup??? I want soup!!! I can have 5 protein shakes, broth, sugar free Popsicles, water coffee and tea unsweetened. What all can you have? You feeling pretty good??
  22. Oh shoot!!! My triglycerides are usually really high. I hope that doesnt delay anything!!!!
  23. oh ya........ I got my insurance approval today too!!!!!! that motivates me
  24. Also, how much weight should I expect to lose from day 1 on pre op diet to say, 1 month post op?
