  1. Proud- yes that's incorrect information. Especially if there's exercise involved that's taking those calories away. You will stop losing weight
  2. Ok ladies. From what you're saying, you're not eating enough. I meet with my NUT every two months and man do I feel as though I'm eating too much, but the weight is falling off! I try and eat something every hour or two so the days of 3 meals is over. There's no way to get in the nutrition you need in three meals anymore. Besides, calories are fuel. You just have to eat the RIGHT calories. I am struggling to get 1000 calories a day. Because of that, my NUT says NO CARDIO! Only weight training because I'll just burn the "fuel" off with the cardio and be left with nothing to power my body. That's what causes medical complications, hair loss etc.

  4. @@QuilterGal My mom does that kind of crap. So I get it. Its MY news. And yes, the advice sucks. The biggest offenders in my life are actually other WLS friends. And I've found that everyone has different rules depending on their dr and nutritionist. So, everyone say, 'my dr wouldn't let me eat that.' etc. Its very annoying. Im following my Dr and Nutritionist and saying to hell with everyone else's expert opinion.
  5. This morning I've had 1 oz Protein shake, 2 oz apple juice, 1 oz carnation instant Breakfast, and 1/2 Whipped Yogurt (Yoplait). Now I am starting on Water to get some of this "sweet" out of my mouth. Ug. I'm not focussing on food, just hydrating. Its just hard to hydrate and meet my goals. Im at work already so sometimes I get caught up and forget to drink. I set a timer on my phone. Lets see if that helps.
  6. I'm so afraid to over do it that I am no where NEAR getting in enough liquids. I am day 7 post op. I get hiccups but I get them whether I drink or not. So I can't use that as a tool to know I am full. I am just starting full liquids today. My Dr has allowed me yogurt and I am eating it very slowly. Im just having a hard time knowing when to stop and when to keep going. Oh and the thing I miss the most? Gulping down a drink! Sip sip sip sip sip!!!!
  7. My surgery went great. Minimal incision pain. Most of my pain is inbetween my rib cage and in my back. I think its from the hiatal hernia repair. Uncomfortable to take a deep breath. Having trouble getting in all my liquids because Im afraid to push it and get sick. But otherwise, Im back to work and life as usual. Cant wait till pureed food. Sick of liquids!
  8. Had my surgery Aug 20th. Hate hate hate the clear liquid stage. Looking forward to pudding and yogurt on Thursday. No real pain other than up in my ribs and back. Hard to take a deep breath. I think this is from the hiatal hernia repair though. I went back to work AUg 24th. Tired mostly. ANd I am not coming close to my Protein or liquid intake. Hope Im not making myself sick because of it.
  9. @EmyLou78@thecat Ok guys HOW ARE YOU??!! We have all had our surgery now. Lets check in!
  10. when i had my csections it helped to have a support garment on (kind of like a loose girdle). I'm going to ask for one at the hospital. You can buy them at medical supply places, sometimes at Walgreen Pharmacy etc.
  11. OK! Everyone with Aug 20 date please check back here after your surgery! Lets support and cheer each other on! 2 more days!!! Mine is at 730am.
  12. Feeling excited. Still on pre-op diet of course and I've lost 7 lbs so far. Still have 3 days to go. Super excited!
  13. Oh yes. Just paid my surgeon and his office 12500 for the surgery. Now I have to pay an additional 5000 to the hospital to meet my deductible for the Hiatal Hernia Surgery. Plus the bills haven't even started rolling in from all the other stuff. Im sure I will get them just like you have. Its a huge burden and headache.
  14. @@TXTinana We must be close to the same day of surgery! Good luck girl!
  15. Hey guys, Just found a HUGE sale on sammydress.com SunDresses and MORE I just bought a couple of dresses for $5 - $10 EACH. Can't beat that with a stick! Wanted to share my find.
  16. @@TXTinana Headaches? NOOOOO! Do we get headaches? From caffeine withdrawl?
  17. I've seen some lunch boxes online for bariatric, some bento boxes, etc. Some are super expensive. Was just wondering what creative ways you guys pack your lunch for work or organize your days food intake?
  18. @@Hipigrl THANK YOU! I am getting my liquids together. Got my Gas X and liquid Tylenol too. The Dr is giving me the Bariatric supplements and Protein shakes. I may get some samples of other ones though just in case I don't like the Dr's. Got my maxi Dresses (sundress) to wear after surgery, a robe, slippers and night gown. I don't want anything on my tummy!
  19. @@yankee2gal2@yahoo.com Crystal Light has aspartame in it last I checked. Unless they've changed it. Love the taste of it, but aspartame gives me migraines!
  20. I've heard the Powerade Zero is ok. What other brands are your favorites or "go-to's" for drinks?? I cannot have Aspartame.
  21. @@Nylaj My BCBSTX has an exclusion for Bariatric and won't TOUCH it! I am having to pay cash. Boo. I think they will pay for my stress test but that is about it. They suck.
  22. @@BinIA I know financing it isn't a wonderful option, but there are places that give loans for Bariatric Surgery. Care Credit is one of them. I have BCBS too and they dont cover a thing! I believe they are going to cover the stress test, but thats it. Everything else I am financing. Im in Houston Tx - Using Dr St Laurent
  23. @@hopeful_loser13 I am scheduled for Aug 20 too. I am so excited and nervous! Lets keep in touch!
  24. Oh yes! My Dr actually paired up with a pharmacy and they make their own Protein shakes and Vitamins. But yes, Protein Shakes need to be on this list too! Thank you!
  25. Doesn't Crystal Light have Aspartame in it? I will have to be careful with the sugar free stuff because I cant have Aspartame. Gives me migraines.
