  1. I feel better than I have yet, today. This recovery has definitely been rough!
  2. Im in the same boat. I had a few licks of my fork with an egg and mayo mash and feel like something is stuck. Ughhhh. Did it ever go away?
  3.    nervous nana reacted to a post in a topic: Super lighheaded and exhausted
  4. Thank you! Thats so good to know that the surgery cant cause lactose intolerance. I cant wait to be further in...this recovery has been a rollercoaster!
  5. Good to know! Ill def ask about that. Just hoping its nothing serious. I cant wait to get over the stress of blood clots, leaks etc etc...lol how far out are you?
  6. Im 1 week out. Since surgery, Ive been able to add yogurt and more milk products. However, Ive been extremely lightheaded, exhausted and dizzy the last 2 days. My lips even feel tingly when Im up or move too fast. I also have diarrhea with bad cramps. Im not complaining too much about that bc I havent gone since before surgery. But my question is- how do you know you are lactose intolerant? I had a small cheat today. The kids had tacos so I had a tiny bit of sour cream, cheese and some taco meat flavoring. I instantly got cramps. I am wondering if its bc I did that (I mashed it up very well and ate slow, it was maybe an ounce worth) or if its bc Im lactose intolerant. I have also seen that this could be signs of anemia. What can I take for that? Im going to call my surgeons office tomorrow but wanted to check here first...any ideas?

  10. August 14th here! Where is the August fb group?
  11. I feel really great. Probably about 95% back to normal. Today is my first day of purées and I feel brand new eating actual food! Im so glad to hear the 2nd week is easier. Im a week today (Friday) and head hunger/emotions are pretty intense this evening! Glad youre doing better
  12. @naturegirl- sorry I am still trying to figure this app out Thats so awesome! We should start a group!! Maybe we can meet up once a month or something and set up a fb group so we can ask questions and what not. Its been a journey! Im only a week out and head hunger/emotions have been pretty intense this evening. How are you doing?!
  13. Im so glad I could help someone Yes, anyone that has a desk job, even if you just get up to walk to the end of the hall and back. Or maybe even if you stood at your desk and walked in place for 1 min straight (more if you can) just dont be completely sedentary for more than 30 mins-1hr. Obviously at night itll be tough but Im going to set my alarm in the middle of the night and walk my hall. Itd be a good time to grab some water too! Yay! Im so excited that you have a date. This has been the hardest and best decision of my life. Let me know if you have any questions! Im still a newb but a little farther in at least
  14. Im not sure where to post this but to save someone else from what I just went through... I work from home and was feeling fairily good today so I put in a 6 hour day. I was pretty proud that I was able to drink more and before I knew it, I was feeling sleepy so I got done and took a nap. My belly felt swollen but I figured that was the norm. I woke up about 2 hours later in EXTREME pain. I could barely move and was very swollen. Thats when I realized I had walked MAYBE once that day. So lesson learned...I now have my alarm set for every 30 mins to make sure I get up and walk. Im still only able to walk on my treadmill about 3 mins at a time and up and down our hallway but I learned to not wait. Im so mad at myself for going that long without getting up BUT thats the sedentary life I was used to. Sitting, eating, sleeping, sitting and eating 50 more times. As sore as I am, I am so glad to have that life behind me. I NEVER want to go back!
  15. Thanks ladies! Youre right, I did feel this with other abdominal surgeries Ive had. The pillow helped, I also have a support garment I can use...gotta find it!
