  1. I was told to just take the liquid vitamin and the sublingual vitamin B12 until my post op appointment. They said I should check into the brand names before I buy the B12 to make sure they've been tested and used for bariatric patients. So I was wondering has anyone done this? What brands of sublingual B12 do you use?

    Alcohol, parties, fun?

I'm 26 and most of my friends still like to socialize by going out drinking. We're young, it's normal. I waited 3 months and a couple weeks. Didn't go too crazy just a cup of vodka and cranberry at first, maybe 2 cups max (which got me super drunk). I drink margaritas and such which, yea, I know is not good but it's not all the time. I'm 7 months out. Still losing and having the occasional drink or two with friends when we go out. Haven't gone to the gym just watched what I ate and walked here there, I've lost 60 lbs. (My current job is very exhausting, I'm constantly on the move). I'm about 35/40lbs to my goal weight. I recently got a sit down job so now is when I'm going to begin going to the gym. I tried beer (blue moon)...I don't recommend it, it kinda hurts your insides a little. Stick to liquor and sugar free juices for mixing. Always have a designated driver! Lol

    Things you feel good about?

I'm still in the process of losing but I'm about halfway to my ultimate goal weight I feel great! My body is adjusting to the thinner me as I tend to catch myself slouching a bit sometimes or sitting way back from a table bc of my pre-existing belly hehe I'm waking up feeling good about myself! I'm working my way to going to clothing stores even though I really don't want to lol I am energized in a different way and it feels amazing! I also gained back some of my spunk! I'm a pretty nice and friendly person. My inside personality is finally matching what my outside appearance should have always been. If anything I'm getting noticed by guys and it feels kind of nice. But I have the foggest idea on what I'm doing..I never really had this kind of attention before so I'm kind of awkward and shy when guys compliment me lol But hey in the end of the day I look at myself in the mirror and always say "you are looking great, you are amazing! You've made it this far and you'll keep going. You got this. I love you!" *I've had low self-esteem all my life* SW: 225 CW: 181 GW1: 160 Ultimate GW:130 . I can't wait for this feeling.... Do you have any pictures... I would love to see your before and after Hey girl I'm sorry I've been working nonstop I'll send you a before and after pic tomorrow, I'll be off after 6 eastern time!

  5. I am a huge pizza lover too (like I looovee it lol) but I think everyone's different, you'd have to test out your new stomach to see if you can tolerate it. I myself am waiting to be at least 5-6 months out before I try my first slice. Just to be safe! Hehe

    :-(

I know the feeling! Honestly I didn't feel like eating anything just water it was weird!! But ultimately I had to get it through my head that it would only last a week. For me I was allowed, water, calorie free sports waters, propel, isopure and the broths. It was very important to keep hydrated. I literally counted down the days till I could go to phase 2 which was creamy soups, protein drinks with less than 5gm of sugar and 150 cals. It was harder to maintain the 60oz of water and 40-60oz of protein needed but they said not to strain myself. After 2 weeks of that I'm finally on phase 3 of blended/pureed foods (which is gross!) But it helps trick your mind into thinking you're eating in a way they gave me recipes to help sort it out and stuff. Only in phase 3 (22 days after surgery) was I allowed to have yogurt so deff check with your doctor before trying that out! After 2 weeks of this comes phase 4 where you can eat solids, (FINALLY) just gotta keep your eye on the prize! Maybe make a little mark down sheet or something I have a countdown on my white board for the 26th when I'll finally be abls to eat solids! Trust me when you start incorporating solids like soup, take it easy, I did a booboo and kind of rushed a bit bc I really wanted to have it BAD and it hurt it was like a major cramp lol just take small sips! Use a baby spoon if you must
  7. I was discharged yesterday and everything went swell! Got my sleeve and the doctor fixed a hernia that I had and he removed my gallbladder which I am very thankful that he did because apparently I had a couple big gallstones. I'm healing just fine and all but I'm hurting so much on my left side. I've been walking here and there and icing it when I lay down which helps a lot. I'm so excited to pass this phase and ready for phase 2. Just wish this pain would stop already!! >_

    Questions bout surgery

Ask your doctor if it's okay to take zyrtec-d! I got sick before I started the liquid diet and it was a killer but they said zyrtec-d was okay to take just no Advil (ibuprofen)

    alcohol

This was one of my questions as well but like LoseitKacy said it's better to wait a full year I think. Even if it's just a sip of wine. I used to be a jack n coke and margaritas kinda girl but had to leave that all behind. Heard clear liquor goes down better though! Might try a vodka up, in about a year or so. Maybe clear rum hehe.

    Eating meals with other people

Honestly, I'm right there with you on the whole avoiding going out thing. I'm 3 weeks out now? And my family is very supportive but they wanted to go out to dinner like we did before surgery...it was brutal to have to sit there while everyone else ate and I had a water bottle. They didn't say anything but I simply told them if they were to go out to eat to exclude me the next time. /:

    Liquid diet

Every doctor is different. I had to do a 2 week liquid diet but totally cheated a bit the day before surgery. I traveled to TX and while driving around I saw a Chick Fill A and just had to try the infamous chicken and fries lol! But everything went swell for me, no complications
  13. Buy your vitamins!!! Check online for coupons and make sure you get all the one's you need!

    Surgery Oct 8

You'll be okay! Don't worry they gave me something for the nerves but it totally knocked me out lol I woke up after surgery when it had all been done, felt like I took a nap and woke up to some pain where the incisions were which is totally normal! Good luck!!

  16. Hey all, so I'm about 3 weeks post op now and everything's going smooth. My question is this, before surgery I had a clear face, absolutely no pimples but now I'm breaking out like crazy!! /: I know it's probably due to the stress of the surgery and whatnot but has anyone else had this happen to them? If so what did you use that cleared it away? NYCC is days away and I so do not want to go all pimple faced

    Travel After Sleeve

You should be okay, I had surgery on Sept. 21st in TX and flew back home to NY Sept. 26th. The 3hr flight really hurt my bum because I sat a certain way so it wouldn't hurt so much but that's about it. I'd recommend bringing a pillow for your bum and if you can bring your ice pack with you definitely do that! It'll help with the pain. TSA asked me about it but I just kindly told them I had surgery recently and before they could say anymore, I pulled up my shirt a bit to show my incisions and they let it pass on the flight as a medical necessity hehe. Try bringing your ice pack as frozen as you can, frozen as a rock if possible! I'd also maybe try and bring a pillow to push against your tummy so it doesn't hurt so much, it definitely helps! My flight said they didn't sell pillows, I wasn't aware they didn't offer pillows anymore so I was in a bit of pain lol as for the protein shakes, I packed it all up in my checked bag. All I had was water on the flight and watched a movie to keep entertained and distracted. Good luck!!
