  1. Thanks for the suggestions. I got online and ordered a few more single serve packets to try and had my husband pick me up some premier protein that I will try tonight.
  2. I have a little over a week before my big day. I bought several individual packets of protein drinks from my clinic to see what I might like best so I can purchase to have after surgery. Well so far they all gag me! Today I tried Bariatric Advantage iced latte. Sounds and smells great but the taste about made me throw up! I even have some crushed ice in it to try to help. If there is a shake that anybody likes, please share the name. I know I will need the nutrition after surgery but this stuff will make it impossible for me to get down.
  3. I got my letter with my pre op times and instructions. It said that one week before surgery to stop taking all nutritional and herbal supplements. I understand why no herbal but why stop taking calcium and multi vit? Just curious...
  4. My dr put me on a protein shake for lunch and dinner and something like a frozen Weight Watchers meal in the evening. I am good until about 4pm and that's when the cravings come. So far I have just guzzled water down to make me feel full. Ready to get this over with!
  5. Good luck! I have BCBS of AR and I was approved in less than 24 hours. Hope you hear something soon!
  6. I have taken it for a colonoscopy before and it kicked in about 5 hours after drinking it. I have my surgery in about a week and a half and not looking forward to drinking it again!
  7. I am doing the liquid diet now as well. I have really drank the water with either a lemon or lime slice in it. That has helped the hunger pains. I also freeze my shakes at least for one meal a day. It tastes like a not so good ice cream. It also takes a little longer to eat and that helps too. Good luck!!
  8. I will be having the RNY in a few weeks. I have horrible reflux and my dr said the sleeve was not a choice for me because of that. I have no desire for the band so this was my option. I do like the fact that this procedure has been done the longest.
  9. It seems I have read somewhere that aches and pains are worse before getting better. I don't remember the whys though. I hope you feel better soon!
  10. That is awesome!! I am having my surgery in two weeks. It's stories like this that keep me from not chickening out.
  11. Congrats!!! Prayers for smooth surgery and speedy recovery! I have 2 weeks to go before I join you!
  12. I have been having lots of emotions the past few days. My surgery is the 28th and I'm just ready to get it over with. One min I am excited, then scared and the next doubting myself if I can do it. My nurse said that was totally normal. Just keep reaching out to people that can offer you support and encouragement! Good luck!
  13. Started my two week preoperative diet yesterday. I had already gotten down to having only 6oz of diet coke per day so I figured I wouldn't have any issues. I have had a terrible headache today. Tylenol is not touching it. I am guessing its not having caffine. Any suggestions??
  14. Exciting time for several of us! I am the 29th if anyone wants a surgery buddy. Starting to really get anxious!
  15. So glad you are doing well and are on the road to recovery. I have mine 2 weeks from today.
  16. Congrats!!!! What an exciting thing! I can't wait for that day!
  17. This weekend I have been kind of emotional. It's finally seems real. I was at my oldest sons football game Friday night and I almost teared up. It just hit me, before the end of the season I will be able to sit more comfortably in the bleachers, dress in cuter clothes and be able to jump up faster when a big play happens. He is a senior and on senior night in November, when the senior players and parents are on the field being introduced, I won't feel so embarassed with the way I look. I am going to extend my life to watch all 5 of my kids grow up and watch them get married and have kids of their own. I lost both of my parents within 3 years of each other both in teir sixties and both with obesity related complications. Two weeks from tomorrow will be the first day of a new life for me! Sorry to ramble on but I knew you all could relate.
  18. I have had my last hoorah the past few days. I am not to a point that I feel ready to go! Today I was good. I will start my two weeks on Monday. I guess I got it all out of my system.
  19. I will be having my surgery in a little over 2 weeks. I was diagnosed with IBS with constipation about 12 years ago. I don't take any meds for it except for Probiotics. I'm curious if any of you have had this and what effect the surgery had on it. Thanks!
  20. Congrats!!! I will be having mine done on the 28th.
  21. Great story. Hope surgery goes well and prayers for a speedy recovery. You got this!
  22. Good luck to everyone going in this week!
  23. I will be having the RNY on the 28th.
  24. Mine is scheduled for Sept 28th!
  25. My surgery is also the 28th. Very excited but starting to get nervous. My goal this week is to start my deep clean of my house and enjoy some of my favorite foods and drinks. Not planning on going all out but will definitely be having some favorites! Enjoy your last week before the pre-op diet!
