  4. 14 days after surgery and I had to take a handful of stool softners.... now I take a stool softner daily so I can go every 3 days. I also take a gummy fiber not sure how much it helps though.
  5. My dr. suggested to scope me because the Zantac and gas pills were not cutting it. I was still having pain after all their suggestions. I did not want the scope I am 5 months out and still need to watch everything I eat even with the Zantac/ Prilosec and gas pills. I have lost quite a bit of weight BUT...work hard everyday to get my protein and water in because I am losing hair now. I was only taking in about 30 protein a day....Thats not enough now I am trying to make sure I get everything in so I keep the hair I have and it doesnt start falling out again! Do what you have to sometimes when I would wait longer to drink it helped too, both before and after food.
  6. my weight goes up and down like 10lbs too. I just always get on the scale when I go to the bathroom. Its exciting to me! I love losing this weight and it still has not set in yet! I do notice when I get my full day of water and protein though it does not go up and down as much.
  7. I remember that week. I was weak but pushed my self anyhow. It was snowing and I went out 4 days after surgery and snowblowed the driveway...what was I thinking? I paid for it later I ended up in the hospital E R 3 times for falling because I couldnt stop I just wanted to lose this weight! I fell and gave myself a concussion one time and fell down the steps another and almost ripped my skin off my muscle on my thigh....Just get your water in you and your protein! If I would have been more worried about that I would have never fell.... That is your biggest job the first week! I hope you feel better.

  9. I was in the same boat wanted to just sleep my last couple days away. I thought about food a lot and what helped was getting away from my house. drink lots of water it seemed to help also. The nestle flavored water was my goto. You will get through it and look back with a smile. The big idea is to shrink the liver so it is not in the way during surgery.

  11. I am 5 months post op and found I still can only have eggs with a little cheese for breakfast and trying so hard to get that protein in with chicken breast or tuna plain for lunch and dinner. I am tired of bland food but cant afford for it to come up with too much flavor.
