  1. Hi Everyone, Please post your before and after pics, so we can share and Celebrate each other's accomplishments My before pic was me at 274.6, my current pic is me at 175.3 and a face comparison pic... Omg I'm still shocked at the difference!!! I was asked about sagging skin (TBH I'm a lil nervous about posting this pic but oh well here goes nothing) Here's a belly pic that was taken around 180. Far from perfect but at almost 47, I'm ok with it. I've set my goal weight for 157-160 and I'm 5'8. I'm hoping to see lots of before and after pics Wishing everyone continued success Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Anyone from southern california

@@Jazzyphresh I'm out of OC but the first step was to have my PCP refer me to the Options Program. Once in the program you have to do blood work, give a stool sample, meet with a doctor (who recommends you lose 10% of ur current weight during the 3 mths) and a nut. While working on these things you also have to attend 3 months of classes, where you are given a binder full of information for the bariatric surgeries offered etc and they have different speakers each week to go over the specifics. You also weigh in every week. I wasn't too thrilled about the classes but I'm glad I had them because it was informative and the people in the class were a great support system. I started my journey 8/2015 and had surgery 2/2016. It normally doesn't take that long but the holidays delayed things. Anyway in class they said that once your in the Options Program your basically approved for bariatric surgery but you have to follow there guidelines. Also after the classes you can opt out of surgery, if you chose to. I think the classes are valid for a year so you still have time to think about it if your undecided. South Bay has 3 bariatric surgeons, I chose Dr. Zane because he is the head of that department. Good luck to you Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Surgeon Appt Tomorrow

@@Serenity141 I was sleeved 2/29/16 and was excited but extremely anxious about my surgeon appt as well. Everyone is different but for me VSG surgery was life changing. It gave me my life back, I am no longer bound by my weight or health issues and I no longer avoid the mirror or cameras. Shopping is now fun and extremely addictive lol I've also noticed that people treat you differently, they are much more willing to help now, especially men hahaha My relationship with my family, specifically my husband is better then ever, he actually just told me he is falling in love with me all over again and after 25 years of marriage, that's music to my ears I am just shy of a 100 pound weight loss and this has given me a new lease on life. I am doing things I never imagined I would, such as riding with my husband on the back of his Harley Davidson and absolutely loving it !!! I am exercising and enjoying it, my energy level is thru the roof. I am much more social, I now love meeting and talking with new people. These are just a few of my changes and I'm sure you will have a long laundry list of your own post op. Take lots of progress pics a long the way and good luck on your journey hang on and enjoy the ride !! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    I just need some motivation

Don't be discouraged... Your body has just been through major surgery and it needs time to heal and recover and I'm sure your sleeve is the perfect size. I actually know a few people that also had an easy time getting liquid down after VSG surgery and they have been very successful with weight loss !! I went through buyers remorse and was doubting my decision for the first couple of days. I was sleeved on 2/29/16 and this has been one of the best decisions I have ever made !! Continue to follow your program, stay on track and you will be just fine. You will see the weight drop and be motivated to keep goingTake lots of progress pics too. Confidence with saggy skin?

@@laGata15 Thank you and your welcome !! Before the sleeve I figured I would look into pricing for plastic surgery in case but I'm thinking I'll probably pass on it. I do still have a lil more weight to lose and I'm hoping to tone while I lose it. Unfortunately due to my Gout my exercise was very minimal during the first 4.5 months, but it seems to have subsided so I'm making the most of it. Confidence with saggy skin?

Everyone is different and being over 45 the sagging skin and hair loss was a huge concern for me as well. With that being said, I was sleeved on 2/29/16, started at 274.6 and I am currently 175.3. Would like to lose another 15-20 more. My skin is actually a lot better then what I thought it would be, I was a DDD cup and I am now a D cup and my underarms, belly and inner thighs are a lil loose but no where near as bad as I imagined. Hair loss was another issue, I started losing hair around 3 months and it scared the crap out of me, it finally subsided around 6 months but I would take the hair loss any day over the excess weight!!! Good luck to you http://pic-collage.com/_brDuKISY Here's a link to pics of my skin... Hopefully this helps you Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
