  1. Thank you all!! JamieLogical what is PPI?
  2. I usually get 70-90 grams of protein a day and I get at least 60 ounces of water. I have however, started having a lot of coffee lately. Do you think that could hinder any weight loss. My nut. Suggested that we never go over 1000 calories. I almost feel like my body has had become accustomed to the same routine and intake everyday.
  3. I started at 221 and am currently 150. I eat around 800 calories a day and try to get between 10-12000 steps a day. 3-4 days a week I run 2- 2 1/2 miles on the treadmill. I ask just recently added hand weights a thigh toning exercise to my workouts.
  4. I am 7 months post op and seem to have lost and gained the same 1-2 pounds for the last 2 months. I have upped my exercise and still am just kind of sitting at the same weight. Has this happened to anyone else ? Any ideas on getting things going again ?
  5. 168!! I made it below my goal of 170!! Yay!
  6. 173.0!! Getting close to that 170 :-)
  7. I also had to quit for surgery. I started taking the chantix and picked a quit date of a week later. I wanted the surgery more than the cigarettes. I was a 2 pack a day smoker when I quit. I am 9 weeks post op, quitting was the best thing I could have done for myself ! Good luck! You can do it !
  8. Surgery date 7/20. HW 260 SW 221 Day of surgery 205. Today is 17 days post op. I weighed 198 this morning. To say I am a little disappointed would be an understatement. I have had no trouble getting in protein and fluids since day 1 post op. I consume less than 600 calories daily and this is my first week walking 1.5 miles daily. The weight just isn't coming off. I am hoping it is just part of the healing process and part of starting at a lower weight than some.
  9. I also just got my Fitbit today. Please feel free to add. Valgonzalez4@aol.com
  10. I am 5 days post op and I still weigh more than the day of surgery. I have had no trouble getting my fluids or protein in. I have had minimal pain and feel pretty good. I can not tell if I am full. I've had a full carton of yogurt that ended with a runny nose but I did not feel full. Help !!
  11. Does ketosis also make your mouth have a funny taste?
  12. Congrats! I remember my approval day as well. I was very overwhelmed yet happy as hell at the same time.
  13. I seem to always have a bald spot here and there. Depending on where they are just depends on how I wear my hair. I have only had to wear a wig when this first started when I was 19. I lost almost all of my hair then, especially the front. It is very hard to deal with at times such as now there is a spot that no matter how I wear my hair you can see that shiny scalp. I have started taking the biotin they recommend for hair loss with hopes that the hair I do have will be healthy and stay put. I will definitely let you know how this journey goes. Good luck to you also. It had to be worth it, right ?
  14. I have alopecia areata and am scheduled for surgery July 20th. I have had alopecia for the last 20 years. I have had some periods of tons falling out and bald spots everywhere, to periods where I hardly loose any. I am, like you terrified of loosing more hair due to the surgery but I think I am more terrified of being heavy forever.
  15. I have alopecia areata and am TERRIFIED of loosing more hair than I do now.
  16. It's really hard. I have made it 30 days I had to quit or the surgery is off. My surgeon tests you the morning of surgery and will NOT operate if you have smoked. I quit before my paperwork was submitted to insurance telling myself I wanted the surgery more than I wanted the cigarettes. The first 5 days were awful. I have gotten to the point that the smell of them makes me nauseous. However, I have gained 10-15 lbs since I quit. My surgery are is July 20. Worth everyday I have been smoke free.
  17. Did anyone quit smoking for surgery? I have made it 30 days and have probably gained 15 pounds since I quit ????
  18. I am scheduled the same day ????
  19. Does drinking from a straw bother your stomach at all? My doctor recommended no straws due to extra air entering the stomach.
  20. (I am very curious to see) What is one thing you use on a daily/ frequent basis that you just can't live without, related to having your VSG surgery?
