  1. Hi! Surgery was around 11:45 this morning. Everything went well. Was up and walking, walking, walking in recovery once I could stay awake. Home by around 5:00 Little bit of nausea and gas pain, but not unbearable. Thanks for asking!!
  2. I love Premier Protein, too. I get mine at Sam's or Walmart.
  3. @@dbrown156 @@amcpherson29 Congrats!! It's always a good feeling to know exactly when it is going to happen. My surgery date (tomorrow) was scheduled out almost exactly as far as yours and I was bummed...thought it would take forever. It got here in a hurry! Best of luck to you!!
  4. @@Monnie815 I'm taking your great advice. So sweet of you! Surgery is tomorrow. @@*Lexie* You're doing so great!!! Woo!!! @@jacks89 I already know you're awesome...I got that Grey's Anatomy reference!! I had food funerals, too. Most of them were just flat-out things I never plan to eat again. Good luck! Wishing you the best!
  5. @@shellyd67 Great idea! I'm outpatient and will update as soon as I can. Ginormous hugs to everyone. This is gonna be awesome!!!
  6. @@Quany I'm so glad you said that about the chocolate tasting like chocolate milk. I love the vanilla. Just bought some chocolate and was keeping my fingers crossed.
  7. This time tomorrow, I'll be on my way, too. Good luck, blessings and hoorays to all!
  8. @@thinkingthin15 Surgery tomorrow and I'm feeling fear, too. It's got to be normal. I mean, no matter what, it's surgery, right? I'm just trying hard to focus on what I'll feel like in a few months when, God willing, I've lost a bunch of weight and feel better than I have in a long time. @@RHAYNE08 That whole "liver too big" thing has me nervous as all get out!! Surely it won't happen as long as we've stuck to our preop diets. Let's hope so, anyway! Also, I know the Protein Shakes can be totally gross, but I've found one that I really like. It's Premier Protein. You can get it at WalMart. I really like both the vanilla and chocolate flavors, but have to say vanilla is my favorite. The ready-made ones are fabu! When I'm making one with the powder, I always use unsweetened almond milk. I hope that helps. It seems like what/how/when/etc we eat will be all we think about after surgery, but I believe it will become second nature. Wishing all of us the best of luck!!!
  9. August 17 surgery here, too! Three days. I'm nervous but excited for us all!!!!! Game face is on...let's slay this!!!!
  10. Hi, everyone! My surgery is Aug 17. I've, of course, been on the preop diet for nearly 2 weeks now and it is sooo different than what a lot of you have talked about. Mine is a protein shake and a protein bar for both breakfast and for lunch, and a dinner of 5 oz of lean meats, 2 c of certain vegetables and 1 serving of fat (olive oil, mayo, etc). I can have up to 1200 calories a day, as long as I stay within the guidelines. I have stayed within the guidelines and haven't cheated at all....as very, very much as I have wanted to. Now, when I read about people who went into surgery only to wake up and realize the doc didn't operate because the liver was too big, I get really scared. I do NOT want this to happen to me. Yikes. May we all be total losers.
  11. Way to go!!! Whoop whoop!!
  12. @@pink dahlia I get my PB2 at Walmart. Prices will vary from store to store, but mine is cheaper than on Amazon.
  13. @Elode@amazon I love the way you two think! @@boosh10 I am so sorry you have to deal with B!tchy McB!tcherson. Seriously, you should get a medal for not punching her in the throat...not that that's what you should do, bless your heart. Let her wallow in her Soup of self-hatred while you continue to show off your awesome awesomeness!
  14. Mine did almost the exact same thing after I found out insurance would cover a good portion, and our monthly payments would be totally affordable. I was flying high...so excited...his reaction was not that AT ALL. I was truly shocked. I cried and cried because my heart was broken. He finally came around and is being really supportive so far. Surgery is Aug 17. Hoping the encouragement keeps up. I really hope your husband comes around like mine did. I think you're completely in the right for being all WTF?. I really hope you can get him to come around. If wls is something you want, you should be able to have it.
  15. That just breaks my heart for her. I'm terrified of doing the exact same thing. Thank you for sharing that with us. Although I hate that it happened to her, I'm so happy she shared it with you. May it help all of us!
  16. I second what @@theatrejo said. I just had my scope this morning as my surgeon was looking for hiatal hernia.
  17. I will start mine on August 3. I'm working in some protein shakes/bars, Greek yogurt, etc, not really so much to ease into it, but to see what I like so I'll know beforehand.
  18. @@Daya69 ... Congratulations! Glad to know you're doing so well. You've got this!
  19. If you don't happen to like that one, I got Premier Protein at Sam's and really like it.
  20. @@her1981 - I'm totally saving the recipe you mentioned. Thanks!! Sounds really good!
  21. @@newstart38 - I totally get what you're saying! My surgery isn't until Aug 17, but I've been accumulating recipes and getting ideas off the Internet so I'll be prepared. I really love theworldaccordingtoeggface.com . The lady who writes it is funny and great at coming up with recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert! Hope that helps. Good job on your weight loss so far!!
  22. @@ellekay .. Hi! I'm going the hernia route with Dr. Carlton from the Nicholson Clinic. I went through True Results in Plano. Good luck!!
  23. I'm sorry you've hit a blah day. Glad to learn the liquids are going down well, though. Here's hoping your blah day turns into an "Oh my word, I can totally feel myself shrinking...wahoo!!" day!
  24. Congratulations! Wishing you the very best. You can do it!!
