  1. Thanks for all of the replies. I am seeing a small weight gain. I think it might be that I am walking 2-3 miles per day and maybe i'm turning on some muscle growth. I am a big strong guy by nature and gain muscle weight real easy. I guess I just need to watch what I eat and keep walking.
  2. I am almost 4 weeks post op. I can tell I am ready for a fill because I can eat like before the band. I am trying to watch it, but I got my band for a reason (I like to eat). I have lost 36 lbs in 3 weeks, but have gained 4 back in the last week. ANy help out there?
  3. Funny thing about the girl scout cookie. My daughter sold them and my wife collected and distributed 2000 box's this year. I got bit real hard. I check this off of her list of things to do next year.
  4. I was just banded on March 10th. I have no Idea of the struggle people further out have. My plan is to keep going to my local support group meetings to keep me focused on what I paid for. I want to be healthy for my wife, 6 & 8 year old children. I think support and health for them will help me succeed. Sorry about your brother, I lost a older sister a few years back that I was very close to. Just remember the good times and smile when you think of him.
  5. I was in a lot of pain from gas build-up last night that I tried a chewable Gas-X tablet. About 10 minutes into it I started to burp and expel gas from behind. The gas is all gone now and I feel great.
  6. The Advantage Edge shakes are pretty good also.
  7. I contacted my Dr. and was told to start walking and drink real slow in small sips. Besides walking, I have been sipping. Weetsin, I loved the baking brownies thing.
  8. Hello, my name is Doug. I live in Independence, Missouri with my wonderful wife and 2 children. We are all involve with sports (the kids play and we pay). I have always been a stocky athletic guy that was involved in a sport for every season. All my weight started comming on after I stopped being active in sports. I played football, baseball, swim team, track, etc..from the age of 7 till I was 20 (really took a toll on my body). I am a serious night time eater. The fridge was my closet friend. I was banded on March 10th, 2006 in Monterry, Mexico by Dr. Javier de la Garza. I hope we can all help each other find the goal we are looking for with fact and emotional support. I look foreward to posting with all of you. My favorite saying used to be "Everybody needs to believe in something, I believe I will have another beer". I guess that is going to change!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. I guess that my pains are gas. I have had no problem with anything comming back up. Is there anything I can do about it?
  10. I need to know if perscription meds will help with real bad reflux? I am only on liquids and still get it. Never had it before my band. WIll smoking cause reflux? I smoke about a pack a day. The pain sems to be primarily ion my left side around my neck and shoulder and the middle of my chest. This not a heart attack, I have had 3 EKG's in the last 6 months, and everything was all good. I was banded on March 10th, 2006.
  11. I was banded on March 10th,2006. Everything seems to going fine except for some serious reflux and constipation. I am only doing liquids, and slowly at that. I have never experienced relux before my band. WIll a perscription refux med help?
  12. Has anyone used Dr. Garza in Monterrey, Mexico?
  13. I was Banded on March 10th by Dr. Garza in Monterrey, Mexico. I had a great experience with little to no pain involved. Dr. Garza speaks fluent english along with a host of nurses and his assistant. I would recommend Dr. Garza to anyone who is wondering about Mexico. He has performed over 2500 Lap-Band surgery's. I went through the process on my own and made it just fine. Dr. Garza works out of the OCA hospital in Monterrey, Mexico. The hospital has a hotel on the forth floor for recovery that you stay in. I also stayed 1 night in a hospital room that was huge. It was around 900 square feet with a big screen TV, DVD Player. The hospital was cleaner and friendlier than most US hospitals I have ever been in. Do the research on Mexico, there are alot of good affordable facilities available.
  14. I was just banded on March 10, 2006. I am a fan of protein drinks. One of my favorites is 1oz of skim milk, 1oz of water, 1 raw egg, 2 scoops of EAS 100% whey protein, 1 packet of sugar substitute. Blend them all together with about 10 cubes of ice. If you like, also add about 2-3oz of cream cheese. With the cream cheese, the drink taste like cookies and cream.
  15. I am getting banded in Monterrey next Friday by Dr. Garza. Has anyone been to see this Dr.? He sounds like he is well quailified with 2500 bandings done. What can I expect for recovery and for how long?:clap2:
