  1. Shorty, Had the same thing happen. My dr. copied a few things in my file (had only been seeing him for a yr b/4 starting this process). Anyway, the surgeon's office got to pages of copy from my file and that's it. It had one weight documented, a physical, a mammo and that's about it. After calling him the second time to request a letter, he sent copies of pages for the prior five years from my file that I had with my previous dr. Luckily, my ins. company said that they did not need a letter from him and went with other documentation I was able to have our hospital and clinic send in. Hopefully, when it comes time for insurance approval, I won't run into problems. Good Luck:smile2:
  2. Sounds like you are doing really well, Julie. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Take care of yourself.
  3. Paula...reminds me of that car commercial that has been airing lately...their song goes..."Just can't seem to get it right today". Sorry for all you're troubles. Sorry, but tell the lady at your surgeon's office she will have to wait for her money. Hang in there. Hoping you will get your fill soon.
  4. I am staying on plan today because I have been struggling lately. I have to weigh in next Tuesday with my surgeon (last weigh in of my 6 months). My doc. insists on weight loss each month and my scale has not moved since my last weigh in. Support please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Hey Rainer, You look FABULOUS! You say WTF? I say F'um. I'm not banded yet but have lost some weight. I have had all kinds of reactions from friends, etc. Last week I thought to myself "What have I done to start such a competition". I don't bring up my weight loss to people. But when they bring it up they usually ask what I have lost (close to 50lbs. and another 50 to go) and then they usually follow with some DA answer like "Yeh, I should lose these 6lbs." Like I should have sympathy for them or something. The girl that made the statement was standing there in her low rise Levis with a perfectly flat tummy. I find it so embarrassing to walk into a group and one of my friends has to point out to everyone that I have lost. I don't want to be put on display. It is difficult to anticipate walking into a social setting. I would just as soon nothing was said and just let me lose my weight for me. Hang in there. "This, too, shall pass".
  6. Hope everything went well for you, Julie. You were in my thoughts today. Wishing you a quick recovery.
  7. My dream is to plant all of my flower beds without having to take a rest every 10 minutes. To walk into Macys or Nordstroms and buy a size 8 top and six 6 bottom like I did 12 years ago.
  8. Hope you start feeling better soon, 80's chick. Hang in there. Try to get some more fluids in your system. Take care
  9. I have had a similar red faced banking experience. My son lived in Alaska and kept one an account at our local bank "just in case" he would need it. For our farm we use printed computerized checks. Well, had to run to town one day to pay a bill but could not print the check at home b/4 hand cuz accrued interest needed to be figured out. On my way out the door I just grabbed an old book of checks (so I thought) and went to town (without my glasses) and made a payment of $2000. Went into the bank about a week later and a loud-mouthed teller yelled across the lobby that I had better contact my son cuz he was overdrawn $2000. I just knew it had to be a mistake on the bank's part. Took them a week to get a copy of that canceled check. Yep, my signature. I grabbed my son's checkbook by mistake to make my payment. I am sure the teller still thinks I'm a dumb ass but six years later do not go to her teller line because she has no better sense than to yell sensitive info across the bank lobby.
  10. Congratulations Denise!!!!!!!! Have fun watching that little one grow.
  11. My surgeon requires weight loss. He doesn't care what the ins. company thinks. He wants to know that his patient is committed enough to stick to a lifestyle change. I believe that the weight that is turned into the ins. company is your beginning weight. Don't you think that the ins. company appreciates see a patient that is willing to take the bull by the horns prior to surgery? Yup!!!!
  12. I see my surgeon for my six month visit next week. I actually delayed my surgery another month (maybe late June or July). Why rush it? Spend the six months preparing you for the surgery and the lifestyle change that is going to be put upon you. I can't hurt but it certainly can help
  13. Such good news, Yaz. Hoping the fill works for you. I'm curious. You said your best friend is getting married and asked you to "come out" in her wedding. Now, is that "coming out" in a good way or just phrased wrong. No problem either way....just interested cuz I am a true believer in people coming out.
  14. Ice, so sorry that neither of your dr.s took notice of what you were going through. Wishing you a quick recovery. Have you talked to your profs about your school work? Maybe they can give you some ideas as of how to catch up. Good luck to you.
  15. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Beautiful, BBK! Is it just me or does anyone else think that Boo Boo Kitty looks an awful lot like Bette Midler (sans the nose) in her younger days. BBK has a nice, curvy figure like Bette and hair to die for. Work it, girl!!
  17. Well, the way I have it figured, Kat. Humans all have the ability to think b/4 speaking. I figure most cutting comments are on purpose. Not just a slip of the tongue. I can forgive once. The second time around, I purposely ignore.
  18. Like said above, try to let it roll off of you. Rudeness is can be found in both sexes. I am on my 6 mo. pre-op diet. Had not seen my "best" friend since I started this process in Nov. I am down close to 50lbs and saw her a few weeks ago. Actually, spent 6 hours with her and not once did she mention my weight loss. She also has a weight problem and weighs about the same as when I started losing. I waited a few days and then emailed her. I asked her if she noticed at all that I had lost weight. Her response: "I would have said something about it but then I would have also had to tell you that your belly is still big". There is not a word I could say. She didn't deserve a reply to such a rude comment. I am now reconsidering the meaning of what a "best" friend is. It was said and I let it roll off of me. The only thing I have is sympathy for her and the fact that she cannot be happy for the steps I have taken.
  19. Hey Turler, Wishing a quick recovery and a happy life with your band.
  20. A good old blanket party works.
  21. Sunshine, thanks for posting "The Rules of the Road"
  22. Woohoo...look at you!!!!!! Springy and slim. You wouldn't get by wearing that dress today where I live. 10 inches of snow!
  23. I don't have a lot of advice since I am in the early stages and not banded yet. I have one more surgeon visit (had to do a six mo. medically supervised diet) and then my paperwork goes into BCBS for approval. I cannot do surgery until mid-June or July. We farm and don't want to do it during planting season. Want to wait until I don't have to worry about lifting, etc. I guess the only advice I can give is to be patient and follow up on everything you are asked to do. It's not a bad process. I guess the worst thing for me is worrying for all this time whether I will be approved or not. I will just face that when it comes. Again, good luck to you. Isn't it a good feeling when you finally decide to go down this path? Take care of yourself and don't be afraid to ask questions. There's always someone here that's experienced and can take care of you.
  24. Hey Applebottom, I'm Appletop. You just keep that funny personality throughout your weight loss process and after. (you might just need it) Good luck. Do you have a date yet?
  25. Poor Bo. But, I can tell he has good parents that are taking care of him. I love dogs but labs are just heart-melting creatures. I will try to post a photo on the new thread for puppas. Never posted a pick b/4 so might be a challenge
