  1. Once you are used to smaller portions. Eating some things are going to feel like a feast. 4 ounces of a dense meat, will make you very full and you will be satisfied on much less. I understand missing eating large amounts, I had a phase like that around 9 months. So I started eating a bag of baby spinach every afternoon. It was okay for like a week, but I got bored with eating large quantities. Just not really necessary. So if you want to eat a lot there are plenty of option of things you can eat large portions of like veggies and stay on plan. Hopefully you will find you just don't want to. Everyone misses food when they aren't really eating much. Once more of your swelling has gone down and you have more options, these feelings will fade.
  2. You go from maxipads never being large enough for your panties, to them being too large
  3. I have been struggling with this off and on. A few different things can make it happen. First it is really easy for me not to eat, I don't have physical hunger really still, at almost 2 years, so I can go long stretches of time without eating if I don't track diligently (which is why I track). If I don't eat enough calories I get faint. My blood pressure is low now after surgery. So if I don't keep my fluids high, it will get even lower, and I get dizzy. If I am standing and I overheat. I don't really sweat anymore, which is oddly annoying. I go from a normal temp to hot and I don't sweat to cool myself down. So if this happens, and it has happened at concerts and events, and even standing in line at a store. I get dizzy. http://ksi.uconn.edu/emergency-conditions/heat-illnesses/heat-syncope/ My heart is in better condition and under less stress so it doesn't beat as often per minute, see low blood pressure. Finally, I have battled with anemia my whole life. I had a period every 2 weeks for a year or more after surgery. That drained me. I have to take a lot of iron. So make sure you are eating enough, make sure you are staying well hydrated, and have your vitamin levels checked.
  4. @davina17 The difference is how much of the intestine is bypassed. Try a google search. DS is rarely done and there isn't a lot of information about it.
  5. @jwinters19 When you get smaller, the VS leggings and fabletics do a great job. Since you are still in plus sizes and losing... Danskin Compression leggings from Walmart perform very well, fit well and hold everything in. https://www.walmart.com/search/?cat_id=0&facet=clothing_size%3A2XL&query=danskin+compression+leggings&typeahead=danskin+compression#searchProductResult You want high waist and since you are still losing, order down a size from what you wear right now, so they last you longer. They have stretch and snapback so if they have to work a little harder at first it will be okay. I always get high waist leggings for maximum control.
  6. My Dr said the first 6 weeks post-op are for healing not losing weight.
  7. I love the salt and vinegar. I like them because I can keep them in the trunk of my car for emergencies. The only issue with them is, they don't do anything for hunger really, because they are chips and are a slider.
  8. The reason why I said not to take any meds is not because I am against them. It won't help with the gross hormonal imbalance created by dropping a ton of weight. My gyno wouldn't even give me anything hormonal because you can't balance out this kind of hormonal imbalance. Even when I cried in her office begging for help, she passed me tissues and patiently explained why it would not work. It is the same medical reason my Dr won't put me on high cholesterol medicine. It won't lower my cholesterol because it is high because of burning a tremendous amount of fat in a short time. Also meds are not going to help you with an identity crisis and major life upheaval. Situational depression/anxiety cannot be cured with meds, you have to work through it. If OP wants meds, she can go and try and find a Dr to give her some, no one reputable will if they know her full medical history. I'm lucky enough to live in an area with good medical care and I specifically choose young Drs that keep up on current medicine. Everyone isn't that lucky. @bluebonz36 There are very few people in the world with a BMI over 60 (Started at around 61 and you started around 64). Even fewer that ever lose any considerable amount of weight. You and I are in a special, different class. People are not going to understand what you are going through, they will not understand the changes to your body. Few doctors and medical professionals will understand. The more weight you lose the more of a unicorn you will be. Like I said in my first post on this page. Even the WLS community is mostly useless to me. My journey is fairly singular and it has been incredibly lonely. I don't know anyone that came from where I came from and is where I am now. So when someone who has a starting BMI of 40 or below tries to give you a lecture about post-op life and how your body is working , take it with a grain of salt. They have no clue.
  9. What kind of smoothie? Nutritional value? Ingredients?
  10. I never liked them pre-op so I was unwilling to try them post-op. You are eating so little when you are on soft foods, I don't think it even matters.
  11. @Julie norton Thanks. I am looking forward to building my wardrobe again. I had 3 closets bursting at the seams full of clothes before WLS. I had several winter coats in varying length and materials. hundreds of shoes *sigh* All gone. I want to get stable so I can start rebuilding my life and it just feels like it is taking forever.
  12. You body doesn't care that it was pre-op though. All it knows is that it has lost a lot of weight rapidly and it isn't sure if this is a good or bad thing. You will stall for a little while then it will change. Since you seem into fitness (nice to see), you might like this page. It is a lot to read but it all applies. It isn't for WLS patients but it applies to anyone cutting calories and/or exercising. http://physiqonomics.com/8-reasons-calorie-deficit/ Hats off to you for going back to Cross Fit so soon. I went when I was about 9 months. I could barely hang. I had to up my calories a lot to make it work for me.
  13. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proton-pump_inhibitor Ask your Dr which one they recommend. Post op your body is still producing acid for a full size stomach. I didn't start taking my PPI right away because I never had GERD pre-op and didn't think it was necessary. Big mistake. I never had hunger issues still don't (well not physical hunger anyway, head hunger, sure). If you let acid rage out of control, it takes longer to calm down. Take a PPI for 6 months, it won't hurt you and it will make post-op life a lot easier.
  14. Did you really gain 4 pounds of fat? I gain 4 pounds with my period. How often do you weigh yourself? Keep doing everything as you are doing it now and weigh yourself every day to for a week to make sure you really gained 4 pounds. Then adjust from there.
  15. Most people aren't going to plateau that fast because they are not losing 30 pounds a month. You body needs a break and time to catch up. Just relax and keep doing what you are doing. Also, update your weight on the site so we can all see your progress.
  16. I put my jeans in the dryer to shrink them. They are still too big
  17. You have to learn to sit different. It took me months. We have a thread around here with a diagram on the difference between how obese and normal weight people sit. I haven't been able to find it and I searched for it a couple times this week.
  18. 10 pounds might not seem like a lot to most people but my very good friend is your height so I know 10 pounds is a lot to someone your size. I would suggest doing 4 ounces of dense protein, grilled chicken, steak, pork chops etc. Grilled, baked, 5 times a day, so you aren't hungry.
  19. I wrote what I meant and I meant what I wrote. If you don't like it add me to ignore. My opinion is my opinion and is completely valid after years of reading absolute dribble. You are throwing a temper tantrum right now because someone said something you don't agree with. The adult response would be to ignore it.
  20. What does LCLR and LCLD stand for?
  21. The way the ballon is being used and marketed in the US compared to Europe is immoral and unethical. Which is typical for US healthcare in general.
  22. The only people that post that are long term on forums are either really successful and living a whole new life so they are really happy, and people that have regained. The people that have regained don't usually stick around much. Even people with complications usually don't regret their surgery. The only regret I see all the time is people wishing they had done it sooner. I wish I had done it sooner, but I wasn't in the right head space any time earlier in my life to handle it, so I had it at the right time for me.
  23. We are in the same situation in the same state. I used to have 10 insurance companies to choose from, them 2, now 1. They removed all the Drs and Hospital networks local to my area and I have to travel 90 miles plus for a decent Dr, and they are my only insurance option. So now instead of just running my business, I have to run my business and work a job just to have decent insurance, when I don't even need the job financially. Many of my self employed friends across the country are in the same boat.
  24. I use LoseIt! Premium. MFP and any other app will tell you that you are under calories if you close your day out. You don't have to close your day out. The only purpose in closing your day is to get it to tell you what your projected weight loss will be. That isn't going to be accurate anyway. Just don't close your day out, just track and move to the next day and it won't bother you about low calories. I think I have closed my day like 3 times in the past 2 years. And LoseIt still estimates my weight loss even if I don't close my days.
  25. Just search youtube it is full of food addict cry babies who are unhappy with their surgery and still eating pasta. Or you can search regret here and find lots of thread of unhappy people who can't pig out on pizza of chug liquor like it is Spring Break anymore. Although most of those claims are just click bait, when you watch the actual videos, you will see they are happy with their results even if they never got to goal. Forums are a skewed representation of life after WLS. First of all it is mainly newbs. I had surgery almost 2 years ago and basically no one that had surgery the same month as me posts here. Even at the one year mark they were all gone. 3 kinds of people post on WLS forums, newbs, successful people and failures/regains. I'm thrilled with my surgery results, my health improvements were almost immediate. The weight loss is just icing on the cake.
