Did anyone eat below 400 or 300 calories for a year post op after gastric sleeve?
Best: hey I noticed a lot of people have their very strong opinions, but you didn't really respond. I know you are knew to the forums and I hope these passionate responses didn't scare you off. If you are working with a board certified doctor, Bariatric Doctor, I would follow their plan. That being said I would seek a second opinion considering how different your doctors plan is from most other bariatric surgeons. Is there a specific reason you doctor wants to use this very strict plan? I hope everything works out for you and I wish nothing but the best. Please stay happy and healthy. ❗️????

Low carb bread and pasta
Question: is it ok once you are eating solid food to eat low carb bread or pasta? Obviously it should be in small amounts and I know I should eat my protein first, but I would love to be able to make like a half a sandwich or have a small amount of pasta in my soup. Plus, the low carb bread and pasta I ordered have protein added to them. What do you guys think? I know I am still a little bit away from eating solids, but I am trying to prepare and make meal plans. I would love some advice. Thanks guys.

I felt Hungry!
That's really interesting. You don't know why it stopped? How many calories do you get in a day, if you don't mind me asking.

Before and After Abdominoplasty/Panni Pics
Can you tell me how the pain was, honestly? How long did it last? I am still a newbie, I was just sleeved a week ago, but I think there is a good chance that I will need plastics, but I don't know anyone who has had a tummy tuck. I just want to know what I should expect realistically.

BMI 31-32
I watched a YouTube video made by a bariatric surgeon all about how lower BMI surgeries are usually really successful. He says they tend to have way less (sometime no) excess skin, and tend to reach their goal within a year. I think his name is Dr. Mathew Weiner. He considered low BMI vsg anyone who is under a BMI of 37. You guys will look amazing. Good luck with your surgeries!!!!

I felt Hungry!
Thanks guys. I will try all of your suggestions. I agree that I do not want to make a habit of late night snacking! Although, in my case right now it was more like a late night meal because I can only get down about 2oz of protein in like 20-25mins, it's hard for me to get in all my protein because I can only fit so little. I have heard that sometime this "hungry" feeling goes away once you start eating solids and that it could just be a product of being on an all liquid diet. Have any of you heard that?

I felt Hungry!
I am not on any prescribed medication for acid, but I do take a chewable generic form of Pepcid. Maybe it isn't strong enough?

I felt Hungry!
So I am one week out and still on liquids (obviously), it hasn't been as hard as I expected just a bit boring! Anyway, I had a strange experience tonight, I am up really late and now I feel slightly hungry. Is that normal? Should I be feeling hunger this early? I decided to have 2oz of protein shake and about an 1oz of jello because I do not want to go to bed feeling "hungry". Should I have done that or should I have not indulged the "hunger". I am still under 400 calories for the day so it's not a lot of food, but I just wanted to check in with you guys and see what you think. Ps: I have lost 4.2 lbs in the 6 days since my surgery!!!! So that's awesome!!!!

Normal intake of liquid stage?
Hey guys. Can you tell me what is the average amount of calories a very recently sleeved person should be getting in? I am know 4 days out from my surgery. Day 1-3 I had almost nothing, but today I managed to get in 330 calories. Is that normal? 39 grams of protein (which is on track I am supposed to aim for 40 g right now) and about the 20g of carbs. Is this ok. Should I be limiting myself more? Also I noticed today that my weight is exactly the same as surgery not even an ounce down. Has anyone else experienced this their first week? My weigh in day is technically Saturday - tomorrow - so I am hoping it's down in the morning. Any words of wisdom would be welcomed. Thanks guys!!!!

Recently Sleeved
So I had my surgery two days ago, June 1st, and I must say I have been in more pain than I expected and than what I have heard others discuss. I am not sure if it is just really bad timing ( female troubles the day after surgery!) or if this is normal and I am just a baby when I comes to pain. I am having problems getting in all my fluids and protein. So far today I have only gotten in around 20 oz of fluids and less than 10 grams of protein. According to my food tracker I have only had 65 calories today!!!! This is crazy. I do feel better then I did yesterday though, so I guess that's positive. Anyone else experience this level of restriction initially or this level of pain. When I walk I feel that I need to hold the bottom of my stomach, like I have no muscle control and everything is going to fall out! Sleeping is sucks too, I only get a couple hours at a time. It's really hard to lay all the way down. Oh well, enough of my complaints. I know this will get better soon.........????

Surgery Tomorrow June 1
Hello everyone, so my surgery is tomorrow. They said I need to be in the hospital around 11 and my surgery should take place around 12:45. I am going to be so thirsty! No food or water allowed after midnight tonight. Anyway, I am super excited and nervous all rolled into one feeling. If anyone has any pointers or suggestions for the day of surgery please let me know. Thank you!!????❗️????

Short Sleevers?
I know, it's such a crazy concept to me. I am so excited about taking this journey and I can't wait for all the changes to come. I think what I am Most excited for is having better mobility; To be able to go hiking without my back hurting. Obviously, I look forward to having a smaller waistline too! I can't believe it is only 3 days away, it's getting real now!!!!❗️????❗️

Short Sleevers?
Thank you guys for your responses. I agree my goal is not solely to lose weight but that's my main focus right now. I am sure as I move further along in this process I will be more focused on non-scale goals. Either way I am so excited and my date is only a few days away!!!!

Short Sleevers?
Hey guys, so I am 5 feet tall, which is really short! I was hoping to hear from some other short Sleevers, so I can have a better expectation of weight loss. How much weight did you guys lose/ how quickly? Does anyone have before and after photos? It's crazy when your this short, because the BMI charts all day that I am supposed to weigh between 95-105lbs; I can't even imagine what I would look like at 105lbs. Anyway, if there are any short Sleevers out there who could give me some insight that would be awesome. Thank you guys!!!

5 days to go...
So I am now only 5 days away! I am super excited and starting to get really nervous. I feel like I am doing well with my preop diet. I only started it 9 days ago and I am down 3 lbs. I know other people lose more, but for some reason my doctors plan is not as strict as a lot of other surgeons preop diets. I must admit I feel a bit lonely, as if I am going through this alone. It's crazy talk, I know, I have a really supportive family, but at the same time no one I know has ever had WLS. Anyway, I am keeping my head up and trying not to give in to my anxiety. If anyone has any advice, words of wisdom, or things I should expect/ look out for after surgery, please let me know. I love hearing from you guys. Thanks!????

Impatiently waiting...June sleevers?
Oh yes! I have been actively prepping for two weeks now. My surgery is also June 1st and I can't agree with you more it is both too fast and too slow simultaneously! All really have left to do is clean the house, everything else is in order. I think I have enough stuff to last 2 weeks post op, plus I am sure my family will do anything they can. I am nervous and unbelievably excited at the same time. I find myself constantly day dreaming. It's a good thing I am on summer vacation because I am way too distracted!!! Haha ????❗️❤️
