  1. Awesome I would love to know if it worth buying
  2. have you tried the cherry flavor? I purchased the sample pack and so far they have been really good, but I wanted to try the cherry and my pack didn't come with it. I love all things cherry flavored basically, but I had never heard of cherry protein until I looked at syntax brand. Anyway, I agree syntax flavors are really good and a really nice change when you are sick of the usual chocolate, vanilla or strawberry!!!!
  3. You guys have been such a great help. I think I am going to set my goal weight to 130 lbs and my stretch goal to 105lbs. Honestly though I think I would be really happy at 120-125, so we will see. I do kinda want to get lower then where I want to be so if I gain a few pounds back I will still be satisfied. With regards to clothing I would be so happy if I would just get into a single digit!!!! Thank you all for your help, advise, support and kind words. This community has treated me very kindly and I feel lucky to be amongst friends. ????❗️
  4. Hey guys, I am wondering what a reasonable goal weight to set for myself. When I asked my surgeon he just said my patients who are about your size typically lose 70-90 lbs and would give me much more than that. I am 5ft tall so according to BMI charts I should only weigh between 95-110 lbs, I currently weigh 223. So I would need to lose more then 70-90 pounds. Should I set my first goal weight to the weight I want to be (115) or should I set it to an average say 80 lbs down? I just don't know what's worse for the psyche setting your sites low or reaching for the stars and missing... Anyway, I want to get this right and I am doing everything I can but if you guys have any ideas let me know. Thanks! ????
  5. Ok so I had my final visit with my surgeon today. He verified that I am all set for my June 1st date. They reviewed by blood work, nicotine test, and other tests and I am all set. I was so worried that something would change my date, Thankfully that didn't happen. Now I just have to wait 10 days!!!!
  6. I am! My date is June 1st as well. I have my last meeting with my surgeon today and I have about a page long list of questions. I am probably over thinking this, but it is all I can focus on at the moment. I am so ready for this to happen!!!
  7. I have also been having headaches. It will all be worth it in the end!
  8. I have my last meeting with my surgeon tomorrow before my actual surgery date and I am trying to put together a list of questions to ask him. Anything you guys this I should include? I have noticed I am getting more nervous as my date draws near. I only have 11 more days!
  9. I have whatever the GNC blender is. It is basically a nutribullet same type of blender. It works really well and I actually enjoy my protein shakes!
  10. I hope you do well over the next three days. I know it really stinks, but just try to do your best and think about how well you are going to do after the surgery. Don't give up now, you don't know that the doctor will kick your surgery back, so you have to act as if it is still scheduled for that day. Good luck, please let me know how you do. That's my date as well. Keep up the good work!
  11. My first day, I had 3 saltines!!! I didn't even start my Preop diet yet, it was really early, but my stomach was killing me and I needed something to settle it. Anyway, just keep doing the best you can.
  12. Hey Robin, my surgery date is June 1st as well. I would love to keep in touch. Maybe cheer each other along. I think it would be great to have someone who is on the same timeline as you to chat with. Good luck!!!!????
  13. No it's not easy, but I a pushing forward. So you have to do all liquids or are you choosing to do all liquids for the last week? I am a little confused because their Preop instructions do not say how many carbs to have per day, but I have been keeping it between 40-45 grams a day. So your operation must be really close? Good luck with everything. Keep me up to date, I would love to hear how successful you are.
  14. Hey guys, so I am on day 2 of my Preop diet and it is not as bad as I expected. I am allowed to eat one meal a day, 2 shakes and 2 snacks. This definitely doesn't seem as restrictive as some of the other Preop diets I have read about. It is still tough though. I live with my husband and my brother and they can eat whatever they want. My brother ate this big piece of apple pie right next to me last night. It looked really good, but thankfully I didn't even think twice about it. My surgery is right around the corner, so I think the reality is setting in and helping me to stay the course. I wanted this so badly, I can not mess it up now! Are there any other preop dieters experiencing this? Are you guys nervous, excited, doing well on your diet? Hope to hear from some folks. ????
  15. If you don't mind me asking about how much did the body contouring and implants cost? Do you know the range of pricing. I kind of want to know what I should expect if I want plastic surgery after I reach goal. Thanks!
  16. Yes! I have heard the sweet taste of almost everything can get really annoying after a few days!
  17. So I have my preop education class on Wednesday (a week from today). I am sure I will learn all about it, but I am trying to get prepared now. I am a little nervous about the liquid phases both pre and post op. how did you handle it?
  18. what exactly is the difference between clear liquids and full liquids?
  19. Thank you so much! You guys are helping me out so much. I know I am probably over thinking this, but it so important! I hope you guys are right!
  20. I really hope that is true. I have done so much to get approved, and I am so ready to start my journey. It's always on my mind. I signed up at a gym today, and I have been trying to be even better about my food. Next week I have my preoperative education class, doctors appointment and an additional clearance thing from the hospital where I am having my surgery. I assume they will be telling me when to start my preoperative diet, ect... But none of this is stopping me from being worried that the surgery won't actually go through. I think I am gonna worry until I am on the operating table. Thanks for responding, I hope your right. ????
  21. So I was approved by my insurance for Gastric Sleeve Surgery. My date is June 1st and I am super excited. I am just still worried something could mess it up. Is there anything that could make them change my surgery date? Is there anything that could make my insurance recall my approval or change their minds? Am I just be crazy? Please let me know, it will help me to determine if there is any validity to my fears. Thank you guys!
  22. It seems to me that you have thought a lot about this and you should go for it. I know the common theme here is that people wished they didn't wait so long. Don't wait another year if this is what you want.
  23. You will do great. Plus, I saw a YouTube video from a surgeon talking about the wonderful results that "lower" BMI (35-38) patients have with surgery. I think you will be really happy. Also, being a nurse is hard work, I am sure losing the weight will make running around a hospital and being on your feet all day much easier. Trust me I understand how some family don't really get the whole WLS surgery concept. I am only 28 so I hear a lot of "just exercise". We all know if that worked I wouldn't be doing this. Bottom line is you have to do what's right for you. Yea it's always better to have the support of your family, but sometimes that won't happen; and that's true for any decision's we make in life. Just go for it, you will do great!!!!!!
