  1. @@retrieverguy I think I tried some carrots too with the zucchini. Yes, I would try and limit them for now. Have you been going to work or is this your first day back?
  2. At 2 weeks post-op I lost 11 lbs.
  3. Are you still on a liquids only phase? I used Isopure Clear Protein drinks = 40g protein in 20oz. I also used Premier Protein Drinks = 30g protein in 11oz. I used unflavored Protein powder in my Soups = 27g per scoop. I ate yogurt with high protein, low carbs, sugars and calories. 12-14g I drank soy or skim milk by itself or flavored with protein powders like vanilla or chocolate (varies).
  4. @@retrieverguy My sleeve has tried soft, steamed broccoli and a little bit of yellow squash/zucchini I cooked in the slow cooker with a pork roast. The sleeve tolerated it. The amounts were very small. I have had some raw veggies and my sleeve is not tolerating them as well. Sorry it is not agreeing. What did you try?
  5. @@pr_pitbullgrl Your dinner sounds and looked yummy.
  6. @@pr_pitbullgrl How many calories have you been taking in? and are you meeting your Protein goal?
  7. Have you guys downloaded the BARITASTIC app? I downloaded it to my cell phone. It is free. They have a couple of convenient timers to use when you can drink before and after, Vitamin reminders, and they have been texting me some motivating messages. http://obesitycoverage.com/baritastic
  8. @@pokeyvenus Welcome. I tried avocado today. I smashed it up with some onions, tomato, lemon juice, salt and pepper. I am not supposed to have raw veggies or fruits unless very soft. I thought they were, but my sleeve fought back a little. I could feel it trying to come back up. I paired it with about 1.5 oz of tuna. It was good, but I will make sure I smash it a bit more and eat it sparingly.
  9. this fat what is your screen name on myfitnesspal @@abs0253 I use the same name. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/diary/thisfathasgot2go
  10. I am here. Thank you for asking. I had the other half of my packet of tuna from yesterday for lunch but instead of crackers, I mashed up some avocado with lemon juice, cherry tomatoes, unions and mixed it with the tuna. My sleeve was loud and cranky. I felt some chunks coming up but I kept them at bay. Took a long hot shower (sorry drought!) and I survived. I think I just had too much raw veggies in the mix I think. Getting ready to pick up one kid from school and go to the other kid's football game this afternoon, after watching a little Dr. Oz talking about belly bloat.
  11. So sorry that you are going through this. Keep positive. You are fortunate that you listened to your body and took action on your headaches. Continue to take care of yourself and stay strong. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
  12. Are you having bowel movements? I was stuck for 3 days at one weight until I pooped during week 2. Then I gained a pound in week 3 which ushered in my 2nd period of the month, and now I have lost 1 lb a day since starting week 4 yesterday.
  13. Did you change your diet from liquid to puree or soft foods? I had that reaction when I changed food textures.
  14. I have been having the same dizziness too, when getting up quickly, but also when I am exercising or walking at a faster pace. I quickly recovered when I just stopped pushing myself.
  15. @@mer2574@gmail.com @@SleevedinGeorgia Welcome. This is my outlet. I have not brought my sleeve business to Facebook. I was in a group for a couple of days, but left to come back here. They are out there though. I use this thread, full of other week of Oct. 5-9 sleevers and I follow another thread from 10/7 called Surgery Day. I am also on MyFitnessPal with other sleevers so I can stalk others food diaries and exercise goals. It is motivating plus I get food ideas and a twinge to get off my booty and do some activity when it shows someone just burned off 500 calories from hiking for 3 hours.
  16. @@pr_pitbullgrl Yes, this is something that I am trying to do better with too. I am doing better chewing longer but I need to put the fork down in between bites to slow me down.
  17. oooh no, i don't want to face the white porcelain goddess tonight. I will skip the sweetness.
  18. One of my favorite bloggers posted this video a while back about why you shouldn't drink with your meal.
  19. @@pr_pitbullgrl Send some my way. I will splash some skim milk on it or something! Thanks!
  20. I suck at getting in my liquids too. Just focus on your Proteins and getting in as much other liquids, to include Water, that you can. I add MIO drops, Crystal Light, add clear Isopure, etc. to sip on between meals. It is tough, my doctor already can tell from my labs that my water levels could be better. It is normal. Just keep trying.
  21. @@abs0253 Can you link them? http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/351278-any-oct-6-sleevers-out-there/ Then they can follow the thread by clicking the FOLLOW THIS button up top to get notifications.
  22. @@pr_pitbullgrl I definitely have to shred it to teeny pieces and make it moist with a sauce, tonight it was a splash of Teriyaki sauce. This will help me with my lunch dilemma when I go back to work if I can just take a small portion to freeze for a future lunch.
  23. Those look tasty! @@pr_pitbullgrl I cooked dinner for the family and decided to just eat what I ate. Worked for me and my sleeve agrees. 2 oz baked chicken thigh, steamed broccoli with some light shredded cheese and a half baked potato. It barely fit.
  24. Ditto on the Bariatric Advantage Chewy Bites 500. 2 a day. Yummy!
  25. I did not eat soft foods until 2 weeks out. I could only eat about 1 oz. at first. I could possibly eat 2 oz. but that would not include the cheese I added. Your sleeve might still be a bit swollen at first, but whenI ate too much, my sleeve told me. I could feel a hiccup or burp or uncomfortable feeling like I could puke. I did not feel like eating more, nor could I, unless I wanted to see the inside of a toilet. Once you start soft foods, I think you are at 3 meals a day, rather than 4-6 small meals per day. I have Breakfast, then a Protein drink for AM snack, then lunch, then the rest of my Protein Drink for PM snack, then dinner. Drink 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after those meals, not during if possible. If you feel thirsty during the meals, maybe your meals are too dry. Make them as moist as possible. I am having the hardest time getting in my Water, but I have always lacked here. You can do it. Pay attention to your sleeve. Track your food and drink. It helps.
