  1. Is it true that I never will be able to drink from a straw again? I find it easier to sip drinks if I use a straw. But am afraid since I had my surgery.
  2. It was recommended to me and I have been using it for 3 weeks and I can feel new hair growing. Kind of stubbly. Lol I am 7 weeks post op.
  3. Try using sugar free cool whip to swallow crushed medicine. My nut told me this. It works.
  4. I bought some granola that is sweetened with wildflower honey. Wondered if it was safe. Need something good to munch on.
  5. Can gastric bypass patients tolerate honey without experiencing dumping?
  6. I get the dry heaves due to constipation. I agree is sucks. I am 6 weeks out.
  7. I can not drink water, teas, diet flavored drinks. Nothing like that without pain. I can however seem to drink skim milk, protein drinks and broth. I am 4 weeks post op. Any ideas? My doc said it is normal. Will brink it up again tomorrow. Makes it difficult to get all my fluid in. Any one else?
  8. I was told any liquid counts towards your total for the day. But each doc may be different.

  10. The JP drain was nothing. Two of my daughters had major cranial surgery and had the drains in. So I guess I was used to them though. Good luck!! I am 16 days out.
  11. I ended up being admitted for observation. Because I did end up vomiting, my ct scan showed no blockage. My lower connection showed some inflammation. So back to liquids again for me. I hope this is not an indication of how things are going to be for me.
  12. What can I do? No nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea. Severe gas pains that make my stomach cramp up. I am 2 weeks out. Docs are out for the night. Help!!
  13. I am almost 2 weeks post op. My surgeon said I could do scrambled eggs. I chewed like forever and only ate a little bit. Felt fine. Then I had Greek yogurt a bit later. Now I am in pain. I took gas x. But no relief. Any suggestions?

  15. Is the amount of sugar in my whey protein powder and the sugar in skim milk OK? I will be 5days post op for bypass tomorrow and I need to mix stuff up a bit. I am just worried about sugars.

  17. Hi I am in northeast Ohio. I am 4 days post op with bypass. Had my surgery done at Geauga medical center. I live in ashtabula.
  18. I see my doc may 11th for my 2 week post op. I pray I can do soft proteins. I need to have some texture...
  19. 4 days post op and the bypass should i be drinking 2 ounces every 15 minutes? i guess that is what i am tryin to ask.
  20. I am having a tough time with my protein and water in take. How much and how often do you personally recommend? I know it varies, but I am trying and feel like I am failing. Thanks
