  1. I cheated with unsweetened organic applesauce. I started my diet on 7/27 and have stuck to it 95%. I have lost 7 lbs. At work I am busy goes by fast. I don't feel so weak anymore. I am diabetic and have stopped taking my medicine. I do check my blood sugar twice a day. The clear liqiuds will be tough but you can do it just prepare have a variety of them available. Stay busy. Do fun things go window shopping see what clothes you might be getting very soon after surgery.
  2. 4 days of preop now and not 1 Metformin taken. Blood sugar 99 this morning. My prescription is 500mg 2 times a day and I feel great thinking the meds and cpap can be gone with the sleeve! I have had diabetes 7 months that is enough for me to know it is worth all of this to get my sleeve.
  3. When you scan it to them call and ask to be scheduled. I was scheduled once the nurse reviewed all my record to submit to insurance. Every clinic is different. Good luck.
  4. Wow and the thing is that its our time off. I have faith it will all turn out well. Good luck to you.
  5. Just relax and think of how things will be in say 1 month. You're going to do great.
  6. Got approved yesterday so today went to see the boss and ask about FMLA. Well I am mostly using annual leave and should have justed asked for 2 week vacation. Now they tell me first fill out forms, get doctor to fill it out, then file the paperwork and it takes time and HR tends to send it back and forth for corrections and my surgey is in 2 weeks. But since the boss knows its for medical she could no longer approve vacation. So this is another waiting game to play. Hoping others are in a place with better HR department.
  7. Let me just say that I absolutely disliked the Celebrate Vitamins when I tried them last week but last night it was like having a candy!! Something to chew on at last. Lol
  8. Nomoremeds My doctor's coordinator told me she was going to call after we hung up to get the approval faxed to her. So this must be an option for the doctor's office.
  9. TxTinana When I make my shake I add ice or milk ice cubes then i put it in a baby bottle cooler bag with a small frozen cold pak and it stays cold until I get to work.
  10. I just called yesterday and basically told the girl I would call everyday this week. All of the reps have been very nice and helpful. My paperwork was submitted on July 3 and the approval was nade on July 21st and it was only posted today. Good luck hope you get your approval very soon.
  11. Day 2 headache gone. Made a homemade broth added milk to it and it tastes pretty good.
  12. I was approved feeling GREAT!!! Glad I started and stuck to my preop diet. August 10th here I come!
  13. Just called BCBS Federal and I was APPROVED!!!! Wow that was a long wait but so worth it. The approval was done on July 21st so there must be a lag time from the time the decision is made to the time it is entered into the system. Yesterday this was not there and they had not mailed out an approval letter.
  14. Yes we do have this!! I just realized this might be combined with a sinus headace and just took a Claritin. Eating yogurt and feeling better.
  15. Hi to all! I am on my preop diet day 2. I did not take my Metformin yesterday at all my bedtime BS was 125. This morning also 125. Please tell about your experience with diabetes meds while on the preop diet.
  16. I have struggled a little with the food choices I have. I bought unjury products and the chocolate splendor is pretty good. However the SF jello pudding I made was so sweet it made me nauseous last night. I made it with 2% milk - think I will go to store today and get skim milk. Unjury chicken broth had a strong odor from the protein I could not finish it and will not make it again. I made homemade chicken broth that was better but felt sad it was just more liquid. I am hanging in there. Maybe day 3 or 4 will be better.
  17. I survived Day 1 but the time from 8pm to 11pm was the worst. I got a headache - this might also be related to doing work on computer so late. I stopped took a shower and felt better. I decided right then to not go to work today knowing the headaches were going to be on and off. I have had some headaches but i go to sleep and that deals with that. I am going to ask my Nut if I can at least have unsweetened applesauce. This is tough but I am tough too. Hoping Nut will say yes. Stay strong my fellow preop buddies!!
  18. I have basic and still waiting. I am on preop diet so I am calling BCBS everyday in the afternoon to ask.
  19. Are they coffee flavoring?
  20. Where do you buy the Torani syrups? I don't like shakes either but the chocolate splendor unjury is working out well. The blender makes a big difference. At least preop to get through these 2 weeks.
  21. I use to drink almond milk maybe I can switch back. I am using the blender preop and adding milk ice cubes to get it really cold. Going to bring my small blender to work tomorrow.
  22. My diet plan includes 3 protein shakes, 1cup of creamy soup or broth, 1 light yogurt and SF FF drinks, jello, pudding or popsicles.
  23. Me too I just keep reminding myself its important. I bought a cream of vegetables soup in the cafeteria for tonight. Going to strain out veggies and thin it a little. Nutritionist said chicken would be better. Wish i knew of restaurant that made that. The Campbells soup version seems too thick and yellow- maybe I can add water to it and strain the chicken out.
  24. 6 days and lost 11 lbs thats really good. I hope my progress goes that well. What are you eating for the cream soup?
  25. I just want to hear from them waiting is a bummer. Going to call again on Wednesday.
