  3. True. I never did before, and look what happened to me. So obviously it wasn't the right idea for me to avoid scales. It's took me 10 yrs to gain all this thru 5 back surgeries, unsuccessful surgeries. I was always small before, but it packed on from over eating and no exercise. So my new outlook is different. Gonna exercise and eat wisely. Been trying out protein drinks and bars and like them. I've cut from a 2 liter a day and no water, to 1 glass a day of pop and 8 bottles a day of water. Lost some weight with this.
  4. Never weighed myself until I started this process. I agree easier to lose 1-2 lbs verses more.
  5. Hope you had a good day. Plz keep us posted on your post op journey. ????
  6. Sleevedmel2015, I am same weight and height. My surgery is in August. Don't have exact date yet. Have my end June 5th. Have finished everything else so should have a tentative date soon. I am 48 yes old, mother of 3, Nana to 4. I've had 5 back surgeries and have very bad back. That's how I gained all this extra weight. But on a new outlook of exercise and better eating habits.
  7. Rwoods200 My next appointment is also the 8th. My endo is the 5th. Sounds like we'll be having surgery around the same time.
  8. Jenn0218 would love to hear about how your doing. Best of thoughts to you! Hope to hear from you soon
  9. Best of luck! Can't wait to hear all about your surgery, and post op experience. Keep us in the loop. Lol
  10. Yay for you! Exciting times. Not much longer for you now. Good luck, and plz keep us informed on your journey. For I am always searching for info
  11. My mother had the gastric bypass and had no waiting period at Cleveland clinic due to it being to get extra skin for a really huge hernia. No nut appointments, nothing. And I watched her be very sick from not doing as she should. So, I have already been drinking 1 protein shake a day getting ready. Also watching what I eat and drinking plenty of water, which I never drank before. Wanting to be my best for sure! I also do research daily on this and exercises to help my wls succeed to the fullest.
  12. Good luck to you ! We're all pulling for each other I believe.
  13. Great to hear you got a little relief today at least. Sorry you had such a hard way of it. Hopefully all just gets better for you
  14. Simmon66 you are luckyyy! But I am getting more prepared with this time. Changing habits take time. So I see why a bit of a wait. 3 mos would be enough time honestly.
  15. It's all I think about too. Already started myself on one protein drink a day, and tons of water. I Only 1 glass of pop a day now. Mine isn't until August, but being very involved with these things. I hope u don't drive my family crazy before surgery, because it's my whole way if thinking already. Even scrutinize everything I'm eating already to prepare. Just from not drinking tons if pop the past 10 days, losing weight. But they go on my first weigh in for surgery. Lots of luck to all!
  16. Hoping for the best for you! Good luck!
  17. It does seem like a long 6 mos to me too. I have mine in August. Seems forever away. But I have learned a lot so far too.
  18. Thanks for the info. All appreciated
  19. Good luck, you can do it! We all are nervous
  20. Mine will be in August. Seems so far away. It's all I can think about. This sight relieves my mind, and gives great advise tho.
  21. Not too much longer for you. Two weeks roughly. Good luck! We can do this!
  22. August is my date. Not a tentative day yet until I have my end on June 5. Getting excited!! This is all I think about
