Back from a 7 day cruise to the Caribbean!
Hi everyone, Got back from the cruise! I am 2 1/2 month post op. Let me start with the abundance of food was not the problem at all. I was never hungry. Nor did it bother me seeing others EAT!!! Since I was afraid of dumping or not tolerating the food I was basically eating tuna salad, cheeses, Soups, crackers, and my Premier Protein shake. Whenever my family and I dined in their specialty restaurants I would order Soup. Like I said I do hav issues chewing and tolerance of the food. I went thru NCL and I brought in 2 cases of Water and a case of my liquid Protein Shake. Always got off with my portable cooler that had water, tuna kits, shakes, and a banana. And lost 2 pounds!!! Hope this helps for those of u cruising so soon after surgery.

Polyp found in Upper GI
Hi, yes i had a polyp in the fundus area of the stomach. It was found after my upper GI was done. A week later had an Endoscopy and polyp was removed. Also, had a Hiatal Hernia which was repaired during the bypass surgery. Don't worry too much about it. You will find a lot of people have them. Good luck to you!

Learning how to eat slowly!
Hi everyone! Today I started Purée Phase. I was excited this morning, but it's so hard to eat slowing. My nurse told me to get a baby spoon that that would help me with bite size! I had stage 2 baby food with seasoning and my pouch hurts a little. A friend told me its because I ate it too fast! Don't know how much slower I am going to eat. Had cottage cheese for Breakfast and super hard to chew it to applesauce texture. How should I proceed! Thanks

Hi everyone, today I had 1 week follow up. Down 8 pounds total 18 pounds I am still bloated was hoping by now it would have gone down. Lots of gasses and walking on my treadmill to free the gases. My doctor told me I should have been at 100 oz of water by now and of course I am not. Please!!!! It's not as easy as they say. Will take day by day. Little by little trying to improve on my liquids and food. Hope everyone is having a great day!

Exhaustion & hard to drink liquids
My doctor also has me on soft food two weeks post op. Can't wait. The blended soups are horrible for me. I am supposed to have 5 meals but can only do 4! I really do not like the protein liquid drinks!!! I am having a hard time time drinking the Isopure protein liquid drinks! I am praying as I start feeling better I can re-try them!

Exhaustion & hard to drink liquids
I have been reading this site before I had my surgery! As a 56 year old women, I thought I could handle it better. Boy, was I wrong! Thank you! I feel a sense of relief that people do care for others...

Exhaustion & hard to drink liquids
Hi, I just had the BP done on March 31. I am finding it very hard to drink 64 oz of liquid. I am 5 days PostOp and today I reached 50 oz! I know I am mildly dehydrated. It has been very difficult even to eat every 3 hours as my doctor has instructed. So far I am tolerating the food. Does one start on 2 oz and progress to 4 oz? I am confused and haven't been able to speak with the nutritionist. While the Doctor is excellent I think very little of the staff. Cubans have a saying " new broom sweeps well". In other words has a client contemplating the surgery I thought I would have the support from the staff because they were selling themselves very well. I guess not everything that shines is gold. I feel very weak and second guessing myself on the surgery! I knew coming in it would be hard but not this difficult. Sorry for venting out!!!!
