Suggestions for scar reduction
I am wondering if anyone has recommendations for a product that is supposed to minimize scarring. Also how soon after did you start using it. I am 10 days post op and would like to start working on reducing scarring as soon as I can.

Movie time
That seems like a bad idea. Most people are still on liquids or soft foods that early after surgery. Popcorn is neither liquid nor soft.

Concerned about calories.. 8 Days Post Op
I did juice mixed half and half with water (room temp) every 2 hours to keep my blood sugar up. This is what my drs plan calls for.

Pain meds
My dr allowed liquid childrens advil for pain but some drs dont because its an NSAID and can increase bleeding risk. So ask your dr before trying that suggestion.

Dumping syndrome?
I didnt think dumping syndrome was particularly a sleeve thing. I think that happens with the bypass. Ive been having some diarrhea. Saw my dr yesterday and he said its common during first few weeks. Liquid in, liquid out!

Everything smells like garlic...
I am 1 week post op. I am smelling garlic constantly for the past day and a half. And not in a good way. Even my toothpaste smelled like garlic to me this morning. Yesterday I kept thinking it was my breath (even tho I haven't eaten anything with garlic in weeks). This morning I went to wake my daughter up and she smelled like garlic to me. Wth? I hope this passes.

Driving
My dr says you have to be off all narcotics and pain free enough to be able to check blind spots and behind you.

Food dreams
It seems like I see a lot of people drinking Protein shakes a day or 2 post op. I can't have one until wed.

Food dreams
I am 6 days post op today. My dr requires a full week of Clear liquids which seems a little longer than most ive seen here. I think my body is ready for some protien because I took a nap yesterday afternoon and had an intense food dream. My family was at the beach trying to decide which restaurant to eat at for lunch, but they kept getting distracted and wandering off. I was intently scrutinizing all of the menu choices and it was very vivid. I was insistent that we needed to eat right away because I was so hungry. Funny thing is that when I woke up I was not hungry at all. I think i am just sick of juice and Water. Lol! Anyone else having food dreams or is it just wacky me?

March 2015 Sleevers
@"bigdrewfl" Yes I am taking childrens ibuprofen which is what my discharge papers said to do. The nurse told me that they recommend it for its anti-inflammatories since that is the cause of most of the discomfort from surgery. Youre right. It is an NSAID but my dr is ok with it.

March 2015 Sleevers
Had my surgery on 3/25. So far everything seems to be going as expected. I am just concentrating on getting in my clear fluids for now. Pain is managed with liquid ibuprofen at this point.

MoJo are you taking narcotic pain meds? I found that my nausea resolved and I was able to tolerate my liquids much better once I was off the narcotics. They switched me to something called Toradol ( or something like that) that is basically liquid advil.

Everything went with for my. Surgery. Im stuck in recovery because there are no beds open at the moment. Not feeling too much pain. I have a morphine pump but only used it a few times. Mainly just a bit of pressure in my chest which I am assuming is air.
