  1. I'm from Cedar Rapids and was sleeved on 3/26/15. Dr Glascock at Sartori in Cedar a Falls was my surgeon. Best wishes to you!!!
  2. Hi -- I am having a difficult time with my large Centrum chewables. The taste is gagging me and I haven't taken one for over a week. I already take a Flintstone chewable for additional Vitamin C, so taking more of those is not an option. What do you all take for your multi-vitamin? I have my 6-week appointment this week so I will also talk to my NUT. Thank you!!
  3. 5/4/15 = 252 lbs Thank you!
  4. It's a beautiful Spring day! NSV - my husband has been taking time to do family walks every night -- in addition to his psychotic running schedule.
  5. 4/27/15 = 255 Thank you!
  6. 4/20/15 = 258 Thanks!
  7. I've been off work since surgery on 3/26. I'm still having trouble getting even close to 60 grams of protein and 64 oz of water. I've just been a b---- today! Don't want to go back. It's an accounting desk job so it shouldn't be bad. Ugh. Anyone else have trouble going back?
  8. Starting weight = 267 Goal weight = 242 Thank you for doing this!
  9. I'm in! My goal for Memorial Day = 240. Thank you!
  10. I'm 3 weeks into my 4 week clear liquid diet- 2 pre-op and 2 post-op. My diet consists of drinking Protein shakes, Water, diluted juice, and decaf tea. I've been emitting an awful odor from inside my body. It's coming out of my pores and my breath reeks. It's such an odd smell!! Beyond eating carbs there doesn't seem to be a "cure". What are you doing to deal with this?
  11. Hi, I'm from Cedar Rapids and one week post-op today! Pre-op weight (3/12) 302, CW 275 (4/2). The range of emotions this past week has been crazy. I'm so happy to say the tide has finally turned and things will be going better from here! I'm also super excited for week #4 of Clear liquids -haha ???? Keep up the good work, fellow Iowans!
  12. Today is day 6 in Sleeveland. I didn't think I'd make it but here I am! I've second guessed my decision so many times. I can't seem to get enough liquids or proteins down. The belching and hiccups hurt so badly. I'm at about 15oz of water and 20g of protein. Still on clear liquids and started vitamins on Sunday. But- today feels promising! Happy April! ????
  13. My surgeon does not allow RTD protein drinks nor does he allow powders mixed with anything other than water or diluted juice. This is so unfair!! (Sorry I'm feeling sorry for myself!)
  14. I am hoping my extra pains are due to having my GB taken out, too? Anyone else in the same boat?
  15. I am in he*l. I thought I was so prepared for surgery (3/26) but this abdominal pain is killing me. I'm passing gas just fine. It's just moving around or switching sides. Been up walking every hour. Hard to get fluids in when I'm laying down and can't use straw. Right this minute I have buyer's remorse. I hope to seethe bright side SOON!
  16. Using sponge applicator for water so I don't gulp. Ask for mouth spray, too. I'm itchy EVERYWHERE so I keep getting Benadryl.
  17. I am 8 hours out and requested the sponge straw thing so I didn't have to fight the urge to chug ????
  18. I'm doing well in my room now. I was given s spinal thing for pain so no pain pump until tomorrow. So I'm still seeing double and falling to sleep often. I've walked around twice. I'm not getting discharged until Saturday 3/28 and told my husband not to come back until then. GL to all with surgery this week!
  19. My appointment was easy peasy. I don't know why I work myself up so much. Last hurdle complete! My husband and I are staying in a hotel tonight near the hospital. My surgery was switched from 8:00 to 9:30, so at least we can sleep a little longer. As if I'm going to sleep!
  20. @@SarahLovy, THANK YOU for your response! I truly appreciate it!
