  1. @@Proud2BMe They are a HUGE weakness for me as well. Did you know that a serving of honey roasted peanuts has 4-5 g of sugar and vanilla greek yogurt has 20-30 g of sugar? So it's a much better choice, right?? Maybe not. Not if I mindlessly munch on them and flavored almonds. I found Target brand ziplock bags with measurements on them. I started individually packaging nuts so I don't overindulge. They are so yummy!
  2. @@heav85 Sucks to already be having issues. Old habits are so hard to break - continue to be aware and work on it. You can do it!!
  3. 11/23/15 = 199 !!!!! Thank you!
  4. You are doing great! Keep your chin up!
  5. Hello! I just looked closely in the mirror yesterday and saw this. Don't mind the sun spots and blurriness - look at the wrinkly dimply mess. This is my cheek cheek.pdf Does anyone have any suggestions to tighten up this area? Any lotions or creams that actually work? I'm not looking for a miracle cure, just something to help out a little. Thanks!!
  6. Wait, whuuuuut?? I am always so dang cold, I keep a cardigan on hand every where I go!! I used to wear one in the heat of the summer to "cover" my fat. Every. Single. Day. Now it is a CHOICE to wear it.
  7. I have learned to love... * Crossing my legs - how did I sit before??? * Not wearing cardigans over everything * Being social again * Accepting compliments ... and many more. Who would have thought
  8. I have no idea how long it stays in your system, but you need to stop. Not only for your health, but some surgeons will cancel surgery if your blood work shows nicotine usage. Quitting sucks, but you can do it!!
  9. 1. How about you? YES - no coffee/caffeine EVER, no alcohol EVER. 2. Why do you think your advice differed? No idea - some belong to "centers of excellence", some don't. Each surgeon / nutritionist has a method to their madness
  10. This is so timely for me, @OKCPirate. My husband and I are currently battling about physical vs emotional/intellectual intimacy. It all comes down to physical for him. I have sexual issues anyway (yes, I'm in counseling, etc) so it feels almost like being violated - if that makes sense - to just have sex for sex. I need to feel the connection we used to feel. There is SOOO much more to it than the physical part. Thanks for the book referral!
  11. Mine were * Reading - I'm an avid reader and always munched while reading. Reading on the iPad "helped" because my hands were more free to feed my face * Eating lunch at work - I'd leave work earlier than most for lunch break, then come back to my desk and graze/stuff my face for the next 1-2 hours while the rest of my co-workers were at lunch.
  12. 11/9 = 202 Goal = 189 Thanks!
  13. I used peroxide/baking soda to whiten my teeth (brushed with it after toothpaste) and it worked. Also sometimes poured peroxide on my toothbrush instead of Water and added toothpaste.
  14. Just saw this -- I've been debating a 5-day challenge. I will take the leap and do it. Like you said, we did it for two weeks, so 5 days should be a piece of cake I'll be on my own but am committing here and now. Let us know your results! You are soooo close to goal!
  15. I'm in - definitely a timely challenge! Exercise Goal = 5 days a week totaling at least is 4 hours/week Current Weight = 202 Goal Weight = 194 Thank you!!
  16. I'm in! Thank you so much for doing this again @@stephh!
  17. The first picture is one day before surgery and obviously the second is at 6 months. I have only lost 5 lbs since then, but it got me to -100 lbs. My regular counselor has referred me to a different counselor who specializes in eating disorders. Hopefully that helps keep me on track. We are all doing great!
  18. Happy Monday! Today is a scale Victory day. I am just over seven months post-op and made it to 100 pounds gone forever Maybe I should have waited for three more pounds because that will be onederland -- first time since getting married 11 years ago. I passed through the categories of Obese II and Obese I and recently entered the "overweight" category. 37 pounds to go, but this feels great! It's month-end at work and a Monday to boot, but I can't help smiling today THANK YOU to members of this site for your inspirations and words of wisdom as I am unable to attend my surgeon's support groups. You ARE relevant
  19. please delete - posted in wrong forum - thanks!
  20. 11/2/15 = 202 3 lbs from challenge goal (onederland) but hit -100 lbs today
