  1. Yes the reviews are great and so is the price because the facility is so mall, you won't stay at a hotel. They have very very low complication rate also no deaths so that another plus.
  2. I have decided to go with Dr Arellano and will be scheduling with him the beginning of May. I am excited He is a leader in bariatric surgery and has over 15yrs experience. I am excited he has done over 1000 surgeries and I think worked with Dr Aceves. Im excited an know with all his years of experience I will be ok because I was getting freaked out about possible complications. But im going through ltvsg (long term vsg). I know @@Chrissyg had the surgery with them and all seemed well but with Dr Jorge Maytorena. Any input comments or people who know of them would be greatly appreciated! http://www.mexicoweightlosssurgeons.com/dr-juan-arellano/
  3. Your baby is beautiful !! God bless you will get the weight back off.
  4. Sounds like a great plan that you guys are starting your marriage off healthy! Congrats to the soon to be BRIDES ♡♡♡
  5. Great glad your surgery went well. Hope you have a fast recovery ! How is the facility there ?
  6. I'm second guessing also. I don't want to be that 1 out of 500 who gets leaks and bleading. I don't want to be hospitalized. If it's gas pain or nausea I'll be ok but life threatening things no
  7. May 8. I do feel better using a doctor in mexico though they seem more experienced. Are You Going To Dr Maytorena?
  8. I'm getting cold feet. If there is any complications with my surgery idk what I'd do my daughter is only 1yr old. My bmi is 37 that's scary so close to 40
  9. Sounds like a hernia call your doc
  10. Wow that's soon I'll be scheduling with him in May. I wish it was earlier so I could've been trimmed down for summer lol
  11. Thanks for the info glad you had a good experience ! Did you bring a passport?
  12. I've been eager to see Chrissyg reply lol
  13. I will schedule some time in May, maybe the beginning also wish it could be sooner though
  14. I will more than likely be going with them also. If you guys are nervous like me lol i emailed them the other day and asked to speak with the surgeon! You just let them know a time and date and he'll call or skype you which is Awesome. I just want to make sure I ask him as many long term questions about the sleeve as possible. Becasuse if anything goes wrong I wont have the money to go back to Mexico I will need care in the U.S. Im ready!
  15. Omg that is sad that your mom died from this surgery RIP
  16. Anyone in Texas or getting sleeved the same month as me ? Would love to have someone to email, support and share advice with through this journey.
  17. Hey guys, I found Dr Jorge Maytorena on a website called long term VSG. I talked to a coordinator and he was VERY informative and knowledgeable. I have found reviews and patients for mostly all other surgeons in Mexico except for this one. There is one review on this site and that was it. The person only posted one thing and nothing else after that. The price listed on that site is 2999 and the coordinator said it is that price because they operate out of a obesity surgical clinic instead of a hospital so that is why it's about half the price. I am more than likely going with Dr E. Ortiz but am shopping around doing my research still. Any advice would be very helpful! Thanks (:
  18. The surgeon on that site also is Dr Jorge Maytorena. I tried looking up reviews but haven't found many. I talked to the coordinator and he was very nice and super informational. He said the price was low because they perform the surgery at in a surgical clinic instead of a hospital. Then you are transported to the recovery place.
  19. Okiebon I'll have it in April or May I didn't know getting a passport takes soo long ugh the wait is killing me I'm ready to get this done lol
  20. Rocky1 thanks so much I will keep that in mind makes me feel so reassured!
  21. Okiebon I changed my mind because I'm not going to finance and found a surgeon that's cheaper that many people on this board have used. Moving into a new place and need that extra 2k lol. If it wasn't for that I'd be still using Dr Rodriguez. Goodluck with your surgery keep me posted.
  22. Asksarah that good. You look great ! I'm glad to hear from someone that has had experience with him and to know the hospital is up to standards as well.
  23. Really thanks Rocky for that info I will have to keep that in mind I have high standards also since this is a major surgery and want to be in a great hospital if anything goes wrong. I will be looking forward to seeing how your surgery went keep me posted (:
