  1. This was awesome, thank you!
  2. Yay!! Congratulations! save a spot for me:)
  3. Mexico bariatrics was awesome. Great staff, great Drs(spk to and see you before and after surgery)! Picked us up and dropped us off at airport. Even took those who felt up to it on a tourist outing for a couple of hours. Hotel(new and fancy) knows exactly why you are there and accommodates you accordingly down to broth and Popsicles and more! Mexico bariatrics staff greets you as you walk into hotel to show you your itinerary for next day! Was the best experience I think we could've gotten!
  4. Good luck it's been one of the hardest things I've ever done but also one of the best and most freeing things as well. When the weight starts lifting it lifts from your mind and heart as well as your body! Enjoy your journey and stay thankful for the opportunity to change your life even through the worst times . Even the days I thought "omg I dunno if I can do this" I made myself never say "I wish I hadn't done this" and that has made my journey so much lighter...and my body too haha! You'll be great!
  5. You look awesome, And you're always so encouraging on here! Congrats on your progress????
  6. It is rly hard, some days are easier some days are tough but it does rly help you after your surgery. Also it's about shrinking your liver for less chance of complications for surgery:) keep going, try and stay positive, you can do it!
  7. Thank you everyone for your encouragement! 625 miles from home! Trying to rest and get fluids in, pillow on the back helps. I'm sure I look crazy at the rest stops walking slowly and w/crazy hair I can't be bothered to fix????...has anyone used liquid Tylenol for body pain?!?
  8. Hey all I was sleeved on the 20th and just have had kind of a rough recovery so I am just feeling a bit down:(! So many pple around me only have gas pain but I have actual body pain and had a reaction to the anesthesia which made me vomit so I am sore from that and I am in Tijuana and have a 15hr drive home (my husband driving) so I've just hit kind of an emotional low and need a little help staying positive! Anyone else have body pain and didn't just breeze through their recovery? Any words of encouragement? Any jokes? Anything would help! Thank you????
  9. @@bigdrewfl glad your surgery went well! I've had lots of nausea n vomiting but I know that my body is rly sensitive to medications n I always feel sick after anesthesia. Anyway Crossing my fingers for a day of calm.
  10. My sleeve day tomorrow as well! Good luck everyone! Hoping we all have great surgeries w/easy recoveries!
  11. Woohoo! Congrats thanks for the confidence boost surgery is tomorrow! Hope the rest of your recovery is easy peasy:)
  12. Keep it up!! Day 2 of liquid diet today, am definitely more lethargic and a little more moody! Sigh..surgery the day after tomorrow! My girls had corn dogs last-night and the smell was overwhelming and oh so familiar. Even though it's hard I have my eye on the prize! I hope food doesn't always affect me that way, anyway,Thanks for posting it's good to follow along and not feel alone.
  13. Awesome, you have such a good attitude for day one compared to a lot of the stuff I've heard! How are you feeling? My surgery is coming up the day after tomorrow!! Best wishes on your journey and the new life you get to lead:)
  14. You look great! Good inspiration!!
  15. @@mzblaze36 You are fierce, you look amazing!????
  16. I've heard someone say that they got a gas relief tea and it was like a miracle! Peppermint tea might help w/that too.
  17. My surgery is coming up quick and I am a little confused on what vitamins I should be getting and when can I start taking them? If it's liquids for the 1st wk or so wouldn't vitamins be to harsh for new sleeve? Thank you!
  18. My surgery is March 20th, I am on the pre-op diet too! Forget about today and move forward, just keep going!! You can do it:) Also I am getting super nervous and little stressed so ready for the surgery to be over with!
  19. Did u go through Mexico bariatrics? Victor is picking me and my husband up next thursday surgery on the 20th! This was rly helpful to read!
  20. I have tried premier shakes and I can't even get through one! They are overly sweet and do have a bad after taste! The Muscle Milk 100 calorie chocolate did the trick for me! I bought mine at walmart. The first taste is okay I was scared cuz premier was so gross, but I just kept taking small sips and by the end I realized it was nothing like premier and I actually liked it! There is also Isopure and has a lot of flavors but I haven't tried that yet! My all liquid starts on Sunday! Been on the preop diet for 2wks! Good luck! Keep going!
  21. Wishing you a speedy recovery so you can start to live the life you've done all this for:)
  22. I am selective in who I choose not because I am ashamed but because it is MY journey! I don't want to always be the one who had the WLS I just want to be me. If anyone hears and asked me I'll be open to any questions and I'll respond to any rudeness, but the pple who are closest to me know and that's good enough. If there are days where I feel a little embarrassed that my life ended up at this point, those feelings are also my own and I am entitled to them as we are all. Life is about process and learning and growing and doing our best. This is a rly brave choice we are all making or have made and as it would be ideal if all anyone ever felt was pride, everyone's journey is different and should be respected and supported!
