    Extreme Diarrhea

The Protein shakes and supplements gave me horrible diarrhea and it didn't stop until I stopped drinking them:) If you are still having issues in a week or two, talk to your doctor and consider stopping any shakes. It worked wonders for me.

  4. Good Evening, Does anyone have any tips for selling clothes that are too big? My issue is that most of my clothes are tall length (both pants and tops) and I'm sure that limits my market. I have to dress professionally for work so if possible, I would like to at least sell my more expensive work clothes. I took a few things to a plus size consignment shop but the lady literally offered me $3 for a pair of $70 dress pants that were only worn a couple of times, she said since they were tall, they would sit around for a while. I have also posted a few things on a local FB group for yard sales and again little interest. I am about to just donate everything and at least get a tax deduction. Any advice or websites I should check out? Thanks!

    OUT OF CONTROL! HELP

I agree with the previous responses, it's time to get back to basics. Do a week of shakes and 1 no carb meal each day to get all the crap out of your system. Set several small goals and reward yourself when you achieve them. Make activity a family affair, the weather is getting better, go explore a local park or state recreation area with the kids on the weekend. Keep a cooler with high Protein Snacks in your car. They make coolers that plug into your car. #1 YOU have to decide you have had enough which I believe is why you posted. Forgive yourself and move forward! Tomorrow is a new day, use the tools you have!

    Calories?

My nutrition book has 600-800 calories a day for soft foods (weeks 4-8) and 1000-1200 calories by 12 weeks post-op. Of course all programs vary so you should contact your nutritionist for your specific program.

    Great news with a rant

We all are sensitive at some point in this process. I am on day 7 of a 100% liquid diet and the first two days kicked my butt. In the approval process we all have many tasks to complete and it requires dedication to complete everything. I see this forum as a place for us to share ideas and our experiences. It will not always be sunshine and rainbows but we are all humans and deserve respect. I'm glad you stated you are working on it. One idea my therapist shared with me was to write my thoughts down in a journal or blog. Maybe that would help you release your feelings and then reflect on them before making them public. Good luck!
  10. Forgive me for starting another post on Protein shakes but I am having some issues finding one I like and would love some tips/advice! I go see my nutritionist for the first time on Friday and plan on picking up some more sample shakes to try. I did a big taste test this morning and tried the following: All shakes mixed in a standard no frills blender. Bariatric Advantage Chocolate: Mixed with almond milk had a weird bitter/medicinal taste. I also tried it with PB2 and that was worse. Definitely a "no-go" for this shake. Bariatric Advantage Vanilla: Mixed with almond milk, weird fake vanilla flavor and seemed chalky. I added PB2 and a good 2-3TB of Splenda and it was really sweet but I could drink it if I had to. Bariatric fusion chocolate Fudge: Again mixed with almond milk. Oh my no way, bitter and chalky. I have also tried powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury vanilla mixed with Crystal Light lemonade at my support group and that was major yuck. Samples I plan on buying so far: nectar doubled stuffed cookie and vanilla Unjury flavorless (is it really flavorless?) I am also curious about the premier Protein drinks everyone raves about but I am chicken to buy a case if I don't like them? Can anyone compare them to the shakes I've tried above? Thanks in advance for your help!

    Any April Sleevers?

I'm also hoping for April 6th!
  12. Thanks everyone for the tips! I did try the premier Protein chocolate and it is a good ready to drink option. I also bought some of the nectar sweets Double Stuffed Cookie powder on Amazon and it is amazing with some almond milk! I still want to try the unjury chicken soup, I can't find samples of it. Keep the ideas coming!
  13. Wow! Did not know you could return protein powder/shakes! That is great! I'm glad I am not the only one who can't stand Bariatric Advantage/Fusion. Do you get the PE science from GNC/Vitamin Shoppe? I will have to look for it.
  14. Thanks! I will have to stop by Walgreens to pick some up!

    My last resort

Hi Jenn, I also have PCOS and am in the process of getting the sleeve. Just like you I am tired of fighting with my weight and ready to make a lasting change. I have the support of my husband now but I understand how hurtful it is to feel like you don't exist to people or your not relationship material due to weight. Good luck on your journey! I hope we both have great success:)

    April 6th sleever!

Hi! I also hope to be sleeved on April 6th! I will be having my surgery done locally. I have heard some great success stories from Mexico. It must be extra daunting to do all the research. That is great to have your friend with you for support!
