  1. Getting super nervous and super duper excited!! Tomorrow is the 1st day of the rest of our new lives!! Congrats to all 31st sleeves!
  2. Tuesday cannot get here fast enough!!! On pins and needles waiting for this surgery!! C'mon 31st!! ????
  3. wow, that's too bad! So was your hair loss really bad? And how was the post op diet you did?
  4. I am 5'5 and a half to be exact, I'm 36 years old, I'm at a starting weight of 229 lbs. My surgeon says my ideal weight is 135lbs but my goal weight is 150lbs. Which I'm very happy with because I would like to keep a little bit of meat on me, lol! I was always very thin as a teenager and everybody had always said I looked better when I started putting a little weight on. But I think with our height if you land anywhere between 130 and 150 you will be very happy. ???? I get sleeved on Tuesday so really looking forward to any progress! Oh and did I mention shopping, yes shopping!!! Lol
  5. Hi ladies, I also have been referred to Dr. Coon. I am still pre op and will be sleeved next week. So far their office and staff have been absolutely WONDERFUL!!!! How well did u lose weight after the surgery? I am 5'5 and 226 lbs. , 36 yrs. Old, & he said my normal weight should be 135lbs but that he would put my goal weight at 150lbs. I'm hoping that doesn't mean the pouch will be larger and so it will take longer to lose. I think I'm just worrying myself sick since I know I'm finally days away from being sleeved, but just thought I would check with ladies who has gotten sleeved already. Thanks for any input ????
  6. Yeah, the protein thing is a little difficult... But you are right we all can get through it, especially since we all know what's at the end of the rainbow ????
  7. PS. My surgery is set for Tuesday, March 31st as well and my last pre op app. Is set for Thursday also! Lol! I'm having mine either done in SoCal.
  8. The difference in the pre -op diet has to do with each person's bmi... According to my Doc if your bmi is lower than 38 then ur just on a quick restricted diet and extra protein. If it's over 39-40 or over then they take extra precautions, it also has a lot to do with the type of surgery each person is opting for.
  9. This thread is the perfect thing to scroll through when the frustration hits in the early stages of post op!! So inspiring! I am still 1 week pre op but have done my homework and I know what I will be up against after my 3/31/15 sleeve surgery. All I know is every time I feel down or weak, I'm going to this thread!! Unbelievable transformations!! Congrats to all!!
  10. As far as fast food goes, Wendy's Chili was just added to the "foods u can have" list... So it's a good option if u go to fast food places.... I certainly would just show that u are pulling out all the stops to focus on your weight, shape and overall health. So anywhere u eat, be sure to check or ask for the nutrition values in the meals u may want to indulge in. Good lick and have fun!!
  11. Everybody's post op diet is different depending on pouch size and how much weight is needed to lose to reach goal weight. I'm sure it is very frustrating, I'm almost there myself. Just stay focused and remember the long term goal here. It's only a phase and u will get there and be very happy. Goof luck!!
  12. Wow, 62 lbs already!! That's so awesome!! Thank you for the well wishes!!!
  13. Got my approval from my insurance company today!! As long as all goes well with my preops I should be getting sleeved on March 31st!!! So happy, grateful, blessed and excited to be starting this new chapter in my life!!
  14. Got my approval from my insurance office today!! As long as all my preops go OK then I should be getting sleeved on March 31st!!!! So happy, grateful, blessed and excited to be starting this new chapter in my life!!
  15. I was approved by my insurance today!! As long as all goes well with all my preops then I should be getting sleeved on March 31st!!!! Yayy!!! So happy, grateful, blessed and excited to start this new chapter in my life!!
  16. Oh wonderful!! I am nervous because I have an H. M. O. So I had to go through my primary care doctor for most everything before I could see the surgeon. I was approved at my psych evaluation and by my primary care, my sleep study turned out to show I didn't need the c-pap machine but I do stop sleeping some during my rem sleep and so I need to lose lbs. to get rid of that. I also have high cholesterol and am pre diabetic, but am not on meds for it, and have asthma, so I'm really hoping it will be enough to approve me! Today's my very first visit with the surgeon so I am praying all will go well and I will be approved and able to have my surgery soon, trying to get all this done before my busy season hits at work. So happy for you though! I'm sure this is the beginning of a whole new life for you! ????
  17. That is SO GREAT!!!! May I ask if you have H. M. O. Or something different? I have aetna as well and am meeting with the surgeon on Saturday and am on pins and needles to see if I will bring approved or not. I'm just like u, no comorbidities but high cholesterol, and pre diabetic and have asthma, 5'5 with a bmi of 37... Just really nervous!
  18. Thank you so much for the advice! I am going to check on that today. I know people who have gotten this done but haven't really followed the rules, and I've seen the consequences, so I have it in my head already that from the get go I am following the rules to a T!! I don't want to fail at this once in a lifetime opportunity for myself and I want to take full advantage of what the doctors know to be successful! I think I will just have to go with the flow and if my body just isn't up for walking around sightseeing with my family then they will just have to enjoy the time we get to hang out not running all around, lol!! I am keeping my fingers crossed that they will call me because of a cancellation!!
  19. Since u are 4 weeks out now, maybe u could answer some questions. Do u feel somewhat normal now? How long does it take before u feel like u could go sight seeing or just getting active. Has it been hard to get ur eating regimen back in order? I have family coming to visit that I haven't seen in 2 years and they will be here at the beginning of May, end of April. So I just was wondering about how much time I will need after the surgery to be able to enjoy some of the days with them.
  20. I had to do everything through my pcp to get approved, then once I'm approved I get to see my surgeon. It's rules of the a aetna H. M. O. I really was hoping once I was approved I would get to see him asap because I was trying to get through the brunt of the change before my busy season at work started, but I guess they just didn't have any openings till then. They did say they would call me if there was a cancellation so as much as I don't want somebody else's dream to get crushed I am keeping my fingers crossed that they will get a cancellation soon and I will be able to get in there.
  21. Thank you!! I could not be more excited!! Certainly a prayer has been answered and I'm going to get to start the rest of my life again soon!!
  22. Wow!!! 48lbs all together has got to feel good!!! I cant wait to be in your shoes!! ????
  23. So excited!!! I was approved today!!! I have to wait an entire month before I get to meet with the surgeon for my consult, but am just so happy to know there is change on the horizon!!!
  24. Got APPROVED for surgery today!!! On cloud nine!!! I have to wait an entire month before I get to meet with the surgeon but that is nothing after waiting so long to just know there is a change in sight!!!
