  1. Joshua, welcome. Our opinions don't really count, all we can do is to tell about our own experiences. Surgery is scary because you have to relinquish all control of you life to a stranger. I am chosing the sleeve because I don't want anyone messing with my guts! Good luck, guy, and you've made a good decision for yourself. You'll get a lot of support here.
  2. I'm having my surgery here in Brandon, FL. She's doing well, and looking great.
  3. I just finished my six months of doctor supervised dieting, and am now in the middle of the medical record nightmare. Hang in there, friend. I had sleep apnea, too! Thank the gawdess there's nobody who hears me snore other than my cat!
  4. I'm in Tampa and I need friends, too! I'll be your friend, and I'm in LUTZ!
  5. Nope, I leave all my clothes on and put down my purse. I get squirrely sometimes, because I weight myself at home NAKED! It makes a difference of about 5-8 lbs. My doc told me that I MUST not gain an ounce, so I go ape and almost panic when I see the numbers slip and slide around a pound.
  6. Hi, I'm new here, too. My daughter had her surgery in Tijauna, and is doing fine. Good luck, glad you got your date and am looking forward to making new friends and having a support group, too! Anna
  7. I already have dentures. The hard part, pre-op, is learning how to have teeth and to chew!
  8. Here I am, not in my naked glory, but feeling fat and ready to get this life change started!
  9. Hooray for you! I think that's terrific! Stay strong and resolute!
  10. Hello, all! I'm 68 years old and originally from South Dakota. I finally found a surgeon in the Tampa Area that I can get to. Also up front money was a concern. I've finally completed my 6 months of physician supervised diet. I'm having quite the time learning to eat properly, and it's quit an adventure coming up with techniques to break a life time of bad habits. I'm in the middle of getting my medical clearances and just getting a taste of the medical records nightmare, but my doc has a wonderful nurse, and I hope we will be able to get all the paperwork in place to set a date! I'm looking forward to getting to know you. Thank you all who are on this journey with me.
