  1. Yes I've heard of her too. Ty for responding. Go on everything
  2. is it called OWLO by chance? Dr. KEITH?
  3. Does anyone else spit a lot after eating solid foods? I think it's called frothing. But usually, with me it indicates that soon I will be throwing up.
  4. I've been told now to jump start the wieghtloss again by reverting back to liquids for a few days. It's worked! Whew
  5. Wow CaliGirl1216, great progress! And thanks, I know we can too!
  6. Hi all, I'm new here so I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Samantha and to this date I've lost 96lbs. My starting weight was 414 lbs. My weight loss surgery was 12-15-2014. I had the gastric bypass. For the last two weeks I had some set backs but now I'm back on track. Two weeks ago I got depressed about how much weight lost so I think I was self sabotaging. It was still feeling surreal to me, a dream. But when I stopped losing weight, I realized my dream. I've had to get back losing by reverting to liquids for a few days. It's helped, I've already lost 6 more lbs in just a few days. I was told all this was normal and by joining this forum I've realized too, I'm not alone. Thank you for yalls support and posts. This has really been a lifesaver.
  7. I lost 90 lbs in 8 weeks, my first ten weeks and the very last week I got so depressed. These last two weeks have been an eye opener. I havnt gained or lost much but I realized that I wanted to loose weight. Yes I felt a loss at first, a loss of identity. I had a dreadful sense of what may or may not come. I felt misplaced and desperate for some control over this sudden change. I ate things shouldn't, I believe to try to get a better grip of my old self. I realize I must reinvent myself and you know thats not a bad thing.
  8. I am 10 weeks post op and really interested in being part of a mentor/support group. There are none where I live! If you live in Carter county, let's do this! Please for our sanity lol. Thanks
  9. Where is the support group located?

  11. Have you ever thought that its them that are afraid? Afraid of change, they are so use to you being the overweight one that they need you to stay that way. You are doing this for you, not them. Some family are going to be that way regardless.
  12. It's the hormone change in your body.
  13. I'm smoking post op as well, so thank you for this post. I wasn't sure what people on here would say, but it sounds so far they r being supportive. This is great because the last thing we need is judgement. I quit for 6 months before my surgery. My reasoning was so I could have the surgery. Maybe I should have thought through it more and I wouldn't be back to smoking. So far there are not complications, but only as far as I can see. I've read that it's highly dangerous to smoke post op. I mean we've done this for our health, so why still smoke? Right? I'm not perfect, but I'm mad at myself for falling for my own thoughts. I quit last time by saying that I'm in control of the cigarette not the other way around. I'm definitely not giving up hope on quitting. You shouldn't either. The gum and vapor helped some for me. Also, keeping a journal of positive affirmations. Good luck
  14. I'm new to this forum, so hi all. I have an issue right now with craving sugary foods. I've lost 90 lbs and I'm on week 9. I've not lost anything for 2 weeks. But gosh I get the munchies! I'm not drinking as much protein as I need. Does protein have anything to do with this? What's causing this ??
  15. Although I cannot relate, I'm positive you are not alone. I know someone your size who was approved. Maybe you need to look for different insurance. No you shouldn't have to gain weight, that's ridiculous. I hope you get more feedback. Take care
