Impatiently waiting...June sleevers?
I had my fourth weigh-in last Thursday - lost 2 lbs. I wasn't happy with that, but at least I didn't gain! Two more appointments to go, and then it will be submitted to insurance for approval! Ugh! This six month Dr. supervised weight loss program is taking forever!

psychology consult time
I was required to have two appointments. Both were 1 hr.

Waiting in the surgical center - surgery delayed another hr

An extremely long time before surgery (insurance imposed)
@@MarciaN - I felt the same way you did! Unfortunately we're all in the same boat together! My journey began in January with my first visit with my surgeon. I had to sign up for six months of "Healthy Lifestyle" appts. and they gave me a list of the perquisites that needed to be accomplished before my surgeon would approve my surgery. (Cardiologist, psych, one group session). etc. Six months seems like such a long time, but with all the appointments I had to do for my cardiologist, required two psych appts. and group - along with my monthly weigh-in appts. the first four appts. have flown by! My meeting with my surgeon counted as my first weigh in, so I was able to get two weigh-ins done in January! After my next appt. next week - I'll only have two more appts. Since I decided to have this surgery, I've spent a lot of my time online doing research about the sleeve. I've watched YouTube videos of people who've had the surgery, and spend a lot of time reading posts on mybariatricpal.com! I've also read The Big Book of Gastric Sleeve and it's got a lot of great info! I've also researched Protein drinks and read countless reviews on which ones are the best. I look at the six months as a blessing! It's really helped me to gear up and be ready for what lies ahead of me - once I'm on the loser's bench! Good luck!

Impatiently waiting...June sleevers?
I've had my cpap for almost a month now, and I had to switch out the nose mask for a nasal pillow. I'm liking that so much better!

Why so rude? Please don't do this
I agree! There was one person in my orientation that argued with the dietician about the benefits of 'Ensure'. My dietician said that it wouldn't be allowable as a Protein drink post-op, and he continued to argue about the health benefits. It wasn't until she told him that Ensure was full of sugar - that he finally piped down.

Surgeon sums it up.
I'm still about three months away from surgery. I have a question.... Why is it important to ask about the bougie size?

Energy!
I gave up all caffeine so my energy levels have gone right out the window! Some days are worse than others! I can't wait until I can lose this excess baggage and start feeling energetic again!!

Pre admission test
I'm not quite there yet... But my weight loss staff told me that I'll have to come in for a pre-op appointment. And said to have someone with me, and to expect to take a half day off.

Consent Forms Singed!
I don't know about you, but I've struggled with my weight for several years now! Tried dieting (several times) - only to go back to my old eating habits, and gaining all the weight I lost back and then some! I've given this surgery a lot of thought, and know that this is going to be the tool I need to lose the weight and keep it off! It's going to make me more active and enjoy doing more things! Good luck with your surgery! I still have a couple more months to wait until I get mine!

The beginning of a new jouney
I was diagnosed with sleep apnea last month. I stopped breathing 13 times in an hour, and my oxygen levels dropped dramatically. It was more so when I slept on my back than on my side. My symptoms were my snoring! Sometimes it got so loud, I woke myself up! I've had my bipap machine for almost a month, and I have yet to get a good nights sleep! I heard it takes a while to get used to your apparatus. Hopefully I won't need it for long!!

What an awesome idea! Thanks for sharing!! And congratulations on your weight loss! I can't wait until I'm there! I'm anxious to see what the scale says next week!

6 month diet really just 5 months - good news
@mykdsmom I've been "caffeine-free" since last Saturday! Today is my sixth day of having no caffeine! Let me tell ya - Saturday and Sunday was really hard! And my husband is so sweet! He's only had a cup each day so I wouldn't suffer so bad! LOL!! No headaches! The half-caff worked! My legs have been really achy though! I'm not sure if that has to do with caffeine withdraw or what! I've never had problems with my legs before. I don't have restless leg syndrome, and I'm hoping this is not a start! Ibuprofen is really helped! I'm hoping it's short-lived!! The good thing is, I'm now getting more Water in! I've pretty much doubled my daily water intake since I stopped drinking coffee!
