  1. I meant to say she wants me to take this 3 times a day!
  2. So I saw my NUT for my first consultatation pre-op yesterday and she wants me to take 500 mg calcium with 1000 D3 chewable, liquid or powdered. I'm not going to buy pills now when tbey estimate my surgery to be in 6 weeks. I looked at Sam's , Walmart and Walgreens and all the chewable Calcium are pure sugar. What do you guys buy?

  10. Congratulations to you both! I'm jealous!
  11. I understand completely. If u read my post from a few days ago you will see why. I am also pre-op and agree support is much desired. So glad I found this forum. Since that day he is trying harder. Fingers crossed and being strong for myself.
  12. Hi Georgia_girl81, I am brand new also but even further back in my journey. My first consultation is tomorrow! I have Medicare and I know you have to have a BMI over 30 and 2 comorbidities, see a nutritionist at least 2 sessions but that's all I know. I have been sick with bronchitis so I have actually lost 5 pounds this week, probably not the best time to do it. I hope this is not a long process. I have finally made up my mind and I need this for my health and this is the FIRST time I've had insurance that would pay for it!!I hope you get positive news soon!! Please keep us posted as you say.
  13. Thank You to everyone. I will try the shakes! I know I have to get my mind set right. I know it's my journey. I am disappointed but I will push on.
  14. Can someone please tell me how you start a topic and not just reply to one? Please.....
  15. Hi guys I don't know where to put my post so I put it here. I'm new. Any help would be appreciated http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/325894-Very-beginning-stage/page__view__findpost__p__3739026
  16. The reason I ask about a new topic is I'm really upset right now. I'm pre-op. I go for my first consultation with my surgeon Wednesday. My husband says he is supportive of me getting surgery but would also help me diet and work out now that he has retired. Last night we talked in depth. I have been dieting for 2 days on Slim Fast to prep myself for my MD visit. He went to the grocery today. We specifically talked about his sabotaging me without meaning too in the past and NO chocolate in the house. So he buys chocolate POPTARTS!!! He says "Oh I didn't think we were starting now" and "I have to have something" completely lying to me. How can I trust him to help me through this process We are both on Social Security and have been married 38 years next month. Our 34 year old handicapped daughter lives with us that requires care. I am feeling really angry. This is his MO.
  17. I'm brand new. How do you start a new topic?
  18. Maggie0210, I appreciate everything you have told me. All you advice is so valuable and I can not thank you enough for sharing it with me. I will try to find Bio-Oil.
  19. Did you find a forum that you could relate too? Please don't stop here! If the online site seems too hard to navigate there is an app for both Apple and Android that is much easier. There are people with every type of experience I have found. Even if you go to the Gastric Sleeve forum you will find people who have found the bypass. Good luck.
  20. erp, You look great! So inspirational!
  21. Thanks for your reply, I am 56. I am NOT in shape! I am currently 247 and pre-op I see my surgeon Wednesday. I have alot of stretch marks on my abdomen already so I'm worried about hanging skin there. I really want the surgery but I want to go in with my eyes open.
  22. Has anyone lost 100 pounds and not been able to afford the skin surgery? I won't and I want to know how bad it will look.
  23. I'm worried about skin too! I have Medicare and they won't pay for that so no panni for me.
