  1. What made you decide on west penn?
  2. I did have a lot to lose. I chose bypass because of how much I had to lose. I am over half way to my goal weight.
  3. I did have the bypass. I am really glad that I did. I feel so great.
  4. I too, am from Washington, Pa. I also went to West Penn, my doctor is Dr. Marr. I love them. I am 6 months post op and I am feeling great.
  5. I am 9 days post op and I am still having severe pain on the right side of my abdomen. It feels like it is tearing, it is not the incision. Any ideas what is causing it?
  6. I am scheduled to go in on July 29th so a little more than 2 weeks away. What did everyone pack for the hospital?
  7. July 29 is the big day for me. I am so uber excited that I can hardly stand it. Anyone else getting it done July 29?
  8. I am getting so excited. I just had my 4th appointment of 6 yesterday. I have completed all of my pre-op testing and completed my psych eval. I got my tentative date for surgery for July 29. I am getting excited and hope it goes fast. I am ready to start my new journey and the be the new me.
  9. I am having my surgery at West Penn Hospital. I went to seminar on February 2 and met with the surgeon on February 3. He said that we are looking at end of july to the begining of august for surgery.

Well.....I went to the information seminar today......A lot of information received and also a lot to process....There were only 3 people there and 2 supports were there....I took my daughter as support and her piece of mind.....I did schedule my first appointment for tomorrow February 3 at 1 PM....Who has 2 thumbs and is so excited....this girl here.....
  11. PCOS is Polycystic ovarian syndrome. I have been told I that I have it but sometimes I think that they tell all heavy people that.
  12. KatieD6982 are you having problems getting approved for testing? My PCP orderd a sleep study and it was denied for clinical but home study was approved.
  13. I see that you are from Pittsburgh. I am from Washington. I am just in the very beginning stages. I go to the seminar at West Penn Hospital on February 2.

  16. Well...I just for my PCP refferal letter on Tuesday and I set up my seminar for February 2nd and I will got from there....I have highmark bcbs insurance so I will be having my surgery at West Penn
