???? Calling all March Sleevers....let's support each other!????
1 to 2 lbs a day? That's great... I'm jealous!

March Sleevers
I was also sleeved on March 2. I walk at least 30 mins everyday (more on the weekends). I try to get 80 grams of protein a day (some days I get a little more or a little less) and I typically get in approx 1000 to 1200 calories. I have lost a total of 70 pounds since January (30 pre op and 40 post op). I still have a lot to go but I feel great! Hope all you March Sleevers are feeling great too!

Your straw story: 5 days post op, just discovered straw dies work for me
I have heard two thing regarding the use of straws. One, using straws can cause you to swallow air which can cause severe gas pain. Two, they will cause you to swallow to fast and when you should just sip. That being said, I am two months post op and can drink with a straw with no issues. I think using a straw is actually helping me to get my Water and fluids down easier.

Calcium and vitamin D3
My nutritionist specified using calcium citrate. Her reasoning had something to do with absorbtion.

Calcium and vitamin D3
I am also taking the bariatric advantage ... have tried lemon and caramel so far and just ordered the orange and raspberry... where is the best place to get them? I have been ordering from amazon and bariatric choice websites but was wondering if they are less expensive elsewhere.

March Sleevers
@@marissa75 ... I had my surgery on 3/2 and I am also always cold now... not sure if it's normal... but a cup of hot tea, coffee, or cocoa helps... just make sure its decaf... not only does the mug keep my hands warm while i'm drinking but the hot liquids warm my insides. Also, moving around helps (walking, exercising, etc.).

March 2015 Sleevers
I am at Day 10 and still feeling a lot of pain... mainly behind the main incision site... feels like I am being stabbed with a knife at times and sometimes it feels like it's burning in there... it is worse when I have to bend forward, sideways, etc... I called the surgeon yesterday and they said pain is normal as long as I am not sick or running a fever. Has anyone else experienced this much pain during the second week of post-op?

???? Calling all March Sleevers....let's support each other!????
I just received a list of acceptable foods for the week 1 liquid diet but no caloric amounts/totals were given. I hope I am eating enough. Maybe I should try to drink more protein shakes. Ps. I read in one of these threads that you will be full once you are actually eating food.

???? Calling all March Sleevers....let's support each other!????
Day 6 and I am finally back to my pre surgery weight (I had gained a little over 7 pounds)... still no BM... but up to a 1/2 protein shake twice a day, a half cup of broth, a sf ff yogurt, and a sf ff jello or pudding... not really sure if its too much or not enough... what should I be able to get down at this point?

Day 3
I was sleeved on Monday and was very nauseous and throwing up Monday night although i was not allowed to eat or drink anything. I was only allowed to wet the inside of my mouth. Anyway, the nurse gave me medicine and that stopped the nausea and vomitting. Yesterday, I felt great and was able to begin sipping Clear liquids. Had a couple of issues with gas pains, hiccups, etc. but nothing that walking didn't help. Again, the hospital gave me medicine but walking seemed to help more. I really felt good yesterday. However, I was sent home in the late afternoon and have been miserable since. I got on the scale and was up 8 lbs since monday morning before the surgery. Maybe this is normal but had not seen this mentioned anywhere. Did anyone else have this issue? Today, the gas pains have continued but I now also have a sore throat and a lump in my throat preventing me from swallowing. I am supposed to begin Protein shakes today and try to get 64 oz. of liquid down. I have been able to swallow about 2 oz. for Breakfast and same for lunch of the Protein shake and about a cup of propel Water. Is this average for day 3? I have read that most feel better by Day 5 and 6 but not exactly sure what to expect now. Any advice will help. Thanks in advance.

Didn't see that coming?!$#@!
I had my surgery on Monday and was feeling great before I came home yesterday. First, I gained 7 or 8 lbs in the hospital. I am assuming my body is holding onto fluids right now. Also, throat hurts, swallowing is difficult, and I have the worst taste in my mouth. Oh, and my tummy is killing me... I want the morphine pump back asap! Please tell me all this is normal?!

???? Calling all March Sleevers....let's support each other!????
Apparently, the headaches are completely normal... from our bodies withdrawing from food. (At least, thats how the surgeon's asst explained it when i mentined my headaches at my pre-op appt.)
