  1. I'm sorry. I didn't see that you put "hello decaf" lol ☺️
  2. ok but what about decaf? I've never liked coffee but if you love it, try decaf as to not irritate your tummy. at least you'll be getting the taste. I'm actually dying for something (anything caffeinated). but don't drink tea or coffee. nursing school + no caff = zombie lol
  3. everyone is right. back off from the scale. I was OBSESSED...I hit my stall at two weeks and it was super depressing. now I weigh weekly and only weekly. to keep me honest I had my wife hide the damn devil thing!
  4. oh boy..is it ever normal!!!! I had a pain in my upper back that went through my shoulders and down my arms. I thought I was having a heart attack!!! walk walk walk. and see if you can take gas x strips. they work wonders. good luck and feel better!!

  6. hi guys. I'd love some new sleeve buddies!!! was recently done on 12/17 and log daily! user name : disgratz0414 ☺️☺️
  7. I had a drain for 5 days and felt it was the most painful part of the procedure. my skin started to heal over the stitched and I swear, it was about 2 feel long in there!! weirdest feeling ever!!!!
  8. within a couple days post op I had a ravenous appetite. I thought they didn't actually do the surgery lol but I started taking my omeprazole religiously and the hunger went away! it was def acid... I still get hungry every now and then but it's nothing like it was before
  9. just buy vanilla yogurt. I have light n fit by dannon.. fat free greek and it's amazing. no chunks of fruit. or maybe you can put a tiny bit of honey to make it more palatable. but I'd def recommend the vanilla.
  10. my first night home I slept in bed with my wife, even though we were both paranoid of her laying on my drain and ripping it out ???? I had barely any post op pain as well...aside from the usual gas pressure.
  11. the longest preop diet I've seen (liquid) was 4 weeks. 3 months is something!!! how long do they expect you to be on liquids post op if they want you doing it for 3 months preop?
  12. here's a sample from the past 2 days. sleeved on 12/17
  13. omg. and the drain coming out was such an effin experience!!! that was worse than almost anything else! my wife stayed with me overnight in the hospital. no tv on for me but was able to hold conversations throughout the night.

  15. honestly right after surgery I was SUPER nauseous. the nurse threw the kitchen sink of nausea meds in my iv and then I was fine after that. I also did not have any pain meds, just a tylenol drip three times during my overnight stay. barely any real pain aside from when I had to get up out of bed to do my walks and use the bathroom. the worst part of it all was the migraine I had after from the anesthesia. I did like 6 walks during the first night and about 4 prior to my discharge the following day. the swallow test was rough bc the stuff tastes like soap ???????? the gas was kinda bad for about 3 days and the only times I felt like I was gonna vomit was when a gas pocket would get behind my stomach. just took some deep breathe and burped a little. I expected soooooooo much worse considering that a major organ was partially removed lol hope everyone had a speedy recovery. I was sleeved on 12/17 and I feel so normal it's kinda scary lol
  16. my surgical team said at least 2 months. and they've cancelled surgeries due to noncompliance. also no hormones for at least 1 month prior. all are blood clot risks.
  17. @@alyce20 if you don't want to get a big pack they sell 4 packs at Walmart. that's what I did at first so I didn't waste money and like 30 bottles of protein lol
  18. I went out for the first time yesterday for a friends bday. they got pizza and beer..I got an appetizer of crab stuffed mushrooms. there was only 4 and it took me about an hour lol but I was able to get them all in without a problem. you'll be able to eat again, just slowly and a lot less! presurgery I would have had all the chicken wings, pizza and the cannoli dessert everyone else was enjoying.
  19. you should try premier protein. it's premixed. the chocolate is amazing and it has 30g pro in the 11oz bottle. sooooo worth it and makes protein so much more tolerable. I used to drink nectar but started gagging on it. also eat the bear is sooooo good (I have ice cream sandwich and drink it w sugar free vanilla almond milk)
  20. I had the sleeve on 12/17 and I was super bloated and swollen. it only lasted about 4-5 days. but if you're allowed, I'd definitely try the gas x strips!! worked wonders for me. good luck!
  21. thanks so much for the encouragement @@athena 3127 and @@Alfie
  22. @@naan you can pretty much purée anything. it's weird getting used to it lol but it's such a treat compared to nothing but Protein and broth!! like thanksgiving every day lol I've done homemade chicken Soup, hm refried bean soup, egg salad, chicken salad. I'm allowed to have very soft fish just mushed with a fork so last night I ate baked cod. get creative with it. I still do my Protein shake for Breakfast and have yogurt and fat free cheddar sticks for Snacks.. but always look forward to something yummy! oh and scrambled eggs are allowed on mine. that first egg was such a treat!
  23. I was sleeved on dec 17 and have not vomited once (knock wood)!! came close to it a few times the first two days but that was just bad gas bubbles pressing. as soon as I burped I was perfect. my pain was almost non existent and I took NO narcotics at all. only had tylenol drip 3 times during recovery (one overnight stay). I walked that night. walked walked walked the next day and have been perfect since. luckily for me, my sleeve tolerates all foods. I'm on purée now and have no problems with chicken soup blended, bean soups blended, egg salad, hummus and last night I had some baked cod. I'm getting all protein and water in every day and have been at the gym since 12/26. not everyone has a rough go at it. I promise. just go in positive and you'll be fine!!
  24. @@Justoperated I feel that after the gym I'm able to take more fluids. I'm able to get all my liquids in but it is a lot of work, time and sipping. just keep doing what you're doing. it will get better every day
