  1. Well I made it home safely, being driven home wasn't as painful as expected. The pillow trick definitely helped. I was in the hospital for 24 hrs, not to bad if ya ask me. My inscision's are looking really good for just a day out. They glued the outside, so it's seamless. For the most part the staff at hospital were nice. I definitely wasn't fawned over, I did have to ask every 3 hrs for pain meds. I wasn't given a morphine pump like so folks do ???? it was very inconvenient I tell us.. But at least it kept me informed when I received and outta pain.
  2. Wow I'm on the losers bench now ???? I can't believe it's my turn to become the new healthier me. I'm very blessed there were no complications per my knowledge. My doc will be in at 6, so I'll post an update as soon as there is one.. And Thank You to everyone who've told their stories about your journey, they really do help when you are a newbie. Keep up the good work everyone ???? one day soon I hope to pay it forward with any knowledge I get from this journey..
  3. It's 5:10am and they just took my catheter out(thank goodness) and I was just told to start drinking from my CC cup.. My pain is at a 5 on a scale from 1-10. I have a pretty high pain tolerance. The gas trapped inside I think is the worst of it. I have been scared to move around in bed, scared I'll pull something in my new stomach area. The Doc should be in at 6am so I'll post an update with his information.
  4. No sipping for me yet ???? just ice chips. I just completed my first lap so yay on walking. I wasn't in as much pain sitting up as I thought I would be. Thanks for advice.
  5. Thank you.. And yes I'm focusing on healing. I've been listening to Buddhist monks chanting on my iPhone ???? and that helps ❤️
  6. Still very tender and tons of gas pain. I need another hit of pain medication. They didn't give a pain pump, so I get to ask every 4 hrs for something to take the edge off. Dr said everything went great. I've not seen him yet so I look forward to speaking with him. I'll post more updates when I start to feel up to it????
  7. Your new life is just beginning! Happy things went well!Thank you ???? I'm pretty sore right now, I expected a bit less pain but totally manageable. I wasn't given a pain pump. They give pain meds every 4 hrs ???? so I'm already needing more at 2 hrs

  22. super curious are you getting anxious?? I have been questioning if I'm doing the right thing then I keep reminding myself this long journey and now it's so close I'm just scared! Keep me posted!I'm not questioning if its right for me at all. I know that this is my second shot at having my life back and I'm full on taking charge and making this change. Yes the 2wk pre-op has been so different and tough at times, but I've survived 9 days and 12 pounds gone so far, so it's just gonna get sweeter as life moves forward. Good luck to you on your journey. I hope the desicion you make is what's best for you ????
