  5. I am a strong determined survivor. I also have had an abusive ex husband, left him no job skills two little kids and set on my own overweight to protect myself and hating men. I entered nursing school, worked like crazy and raised my children healing along the way physically. I eventually began dating my current husband and of course married, he adopted my children and all my issues. Thru the years [been 17 now] I now married, awesome husband and life, my masters in nursing, beautiful home and grandchildren, and now healed the emotional side of the history and using this tool to get back control of everything. I just keep surviving in a determined path of happiness.

But Monday is around the corner for me, you call the doctor for sure

  18. I am on my two week preop and I have a list of things I have to eat every day without fail and unlimited non starchy veggies, so I don't think your broccoli splurge will hurt. I do agree with the chicken broth and you can mix a unflavored or chicken flavored protein drink in it also. I got to tell you I traveled for work these last three days and I was so thankful when we went to a buffet Wednesday night to have warm cooked vegetables instead of salad and shakes. Those warm things that are savory are helping but yes it is tough. I think we all in one way or another cheat or adapt to what we have to do, that clear liquid and preop part right before is extreme important, as a nurse I can say that. Not that shrinking liver back is not important but empty clean system is imperative. And these are just my opinions as I am only in this preop one week now and chose to travel during the first week for work which made it a HUGE challenge to be with coworkers eating normal in front of me. BUT I SURVIVED IT and we all will!!!
  19. I am on day three, surgery is March 23rd. So far so good for me. Leg cramps my only issue. I get unlimited non starch veggies on mine so I eat them if feel like I need something
  20. I have been using the isopure and my favorite so far us plain unflavored I can add it to broth, crystal lite or make it any flavor I want. works great
  21. you can try unflavored plain protein powder and put it in your broth or such and will not be sweet. that works for me
  22. My date is 3/25 and up to now I have only told my husband and kids. I have a mentor that had RNY 8 years ago and she knows. Well then my parents were in the house when I got a call from the center, so now they know. I don't want any others to know, I want to keep this private medical business. I have been working and have lost weight already, they know I work hard on it. When someone at work asks why I am gone for surgery or something, we just have been saying gall bladder out and some work due to that. Everyone knows that is a true fact for me, I have been battling my gall bladder for two years so that part is true and they are going to take out my gallbladder during the surgery and my bile ducts have stones also so cleaning on them. So I am not totally fibbing I am just choosing not to tell the whole thing. I really feel that I don't have to and should not have to let someone know my private health issues, so I have stuck to that decision and threatened my family to keep it zipped up on it. Good luck and I do not blame you at all, understand it all
  23. Today was my first day on the preop diet also and I feel like I am going to bust open with over fullness!! I know that sounds weird but I have felt that all day long and it is not going away yet this evening. So it will definite take time to get used to. I am using isopure, unjury, and premade premier protein. So variety is not an issue it is just I feel stuffed. It may be nice if that feeling stays for the two weeks in many ways. We shall see. Next three days I travel for work so my luggage is overstuffed with stuff that is required but it is my only trip before surgery so I got this.
