  2. i had dr holland too !  we had   the best as he taught the others how todo surgery!!

  3. I just read about being able to eat alot. Recently, I am able to eat alot too. I am post op sleeve one year too. I can eat a whole egg roll pork. I ate a whole hot pocket and felt i could eat two of them. I can also, eat a whole slice of pizza. (large slice) But, then again I can only eat one white castle slider. The slider really fills me up. Today I was able to eat a sandwich. bread, turkey tomato cheese. two slices of bread. Now i ate virtually nothing before, I ate the sandwich today. Does that have something to do with being able to eat alot ? I am concerned too as to why I am able to eat alot. Plus, i didn't feel full after eating the sandwich. That was the main concern that i didn't feel full after eating the sandwich. Thank you. Would appreciate others opinions.

    One year surgeversary!

my one year anniversary was December 2, 2015. One year went by very fast. Can't believe it's already one year !!! I am stuck between 169 and 173 for like three months now. Just going back and forth between 173 and 169 I will Celebrate when I reach my goal but, still satisfied with my progress. I lost alot of weight that I couldn't lose without the surgery. So I would have to say 2015 was awesome year for me with the weight i lost. But, 2014 I had the surgery. So do I say 2014 was the great year for me because, I finally made decision to get surgery ? Survived surgery as it was successful. Or do I say 2015 was the awesome year because , I lost the weight ?? I still look at 2014 as the best even though it was the end of 2014 because, this is the year i had the surgery.
  6. We are all December Sleevers !!!! I can't believe it's been a year since we had the surgery !!! Amazing how fast the year went !!!!!!!!!

You know you lost weight when

    1. You can wrap the bath towel around you and it covers all of you ! 2. You are comfortable crossing legs. 3. Your clothes are all baggy on you ! 4. I can fit my hand around my wrist. 5. You look at yourself in the full body mirror and feel good. 6. You start taking pictures of your whole self and not just your upper body.
  8. ----------------I eat too fast . I find it difficult to eat slow. But, I end up eating too much and feeling too full when I eat fast so I really need to focus on eating slowly. It's been awhile since I've visited bariatricpal . How is everyone doing physically and emotionally ? Is everyone following the 30/60 rule ? I've never really following the no drinks thirty minutes before a meal and sixty minutes after a meal. Maybe, for a couple months I was following the rule but, many times I ended up drinking while eating. It is very difficult to just eat a couple of tablespoons of food . I usually end up eating where I am too full. (although it's still not a lot of food) Is anyone able to eat a whole apple ? I am able to eat a whole apple. I can eat one slider from white castle and feel like I've eaten a whole turkey. I couldn't finish a small Wendy's chilli as I ate half of the chilli and saved half for the next day. Bread and Pasta are worse for me than rice. Toast is okay . I feel I need to eat slower. I struggle a lot eating slowly. I eat too fast. Sometimes I feel like I want to eat more and feel kind of down not being able to eat a little more of something I really like . But, in the end I am glad that I have the smaller stomach to control me from eating too much. Do I miss eating some of my favorite foods like mashed potatoes? Yes I do . But, I always look at the positive and the weight I've lost. Also, I don't talk about food like I did in the past and I am not motivated to cook as I can't eat too much of what I cook so it doesn't thrill me to cook meals.
  9. I had my sleeve sugery on December 2, 2014. What is your best food since post op ? What is your worst food since post op ? Thank you.
  10. food that you ate post op that made you sick. Please let me know what food to stay away from. . . . What food did you eat that made you want to vomit ? Food that you think twice about before, you decide not to eat that food. Last evening i had too much ice cream/sorbet and i wanted to vomit and did. My stomach ached for awhile. Dairy especially milk makes me sick to my stomach. It is unfortuneate because, I thought I would get my Protein mostly from milk. I would greatly appreciate what foods you stay away from. . . . Thank you.

    scared.

"most of them are saying its an easy way out and that i dont try hard enough to loose weight" To the ones who are saying it's the easy way out , they are not well informed nor knowledgeable about weight loss surgery. It is certainly not the easy way out as you are making a committment to have your life changed permanently. One doesn't have alot of their stomach removed (sleeve surgery) because, it's the easy way out !!! I say to you find people who will support you and be open minded. Losing weight and gaining it back again (yo yo syndrome) is what made me have the sleeve surgery. You will be healthier and happier if you make the decision to have surgery. Of course it is my opinion but, I want to emphasize that you and you alone need to make the ultimate decision. I hope you are happy no matter what you decide to do !!!

The Worst Foods to Eat Post Op. . . . .

It seems like many of us have milk as a worst food. I've tried lactaid and powdered milk to no avail. I've been getting my Protein from eggs and Beans. I ate an egg roll which , was fried and it didn't bother me !! I was surprised about this. . . . . coffee doesn't taste as good as it used to taste so I don't even bother buying or making coffee. I can have about two sips of coke and that is it. Cottage cheese is great for me and so is applesauce . Those two things agree with my stomach. Stomach does not like noodles, Pasta, and especially, bread. I can tolerate toast and pizza !!
  13. Surgery Date: December 2, 2014. Starting weight: 243 . . . . . Current weight 193. I will be six months post op on June 2.

    5 month update?

I know all about the weight stall !! I thought i was the only one until, I read your post so thank you !! It took me forever to get under 200 !!! But, when i would become discouraged I would just say to myself I am only a few pounds until, i get under 200. In other words, i've lost alot of pounds and a stall is no problem. Happy so far. You know eventually you will lose weight because, you are eating less food.
  15. Abdominal Ct. Scan revealed swelling around gastric sleeve. Should i be worried. I am post op 5 months.
  16. Canyon and Ladypullings thank you so much !!!!!! when there is virtually no one to express my feelings to you guys understand !!!!! This means alot to me. I cannot tell my mom because, i don't want her to worry and as far as friends , i really don't want to share this with anyone except those who have had the surgery. Later after all is okay i will share with others. So your encouragement and help is what i have and it means alot to me . Okay, i went in to see if i have a kidney stone because i had burning when going to the bathroom but, the urinary results reflected no UTI. I was glad to be getting an XRAY anyways even if i didn't need it because, i wanted to know if everything was good with the stomach (no staples coming out, and so forth).
  17. how about your wardrobe suddenly looks colorful as opposed to all dark colors.

    Sleeved 12/5/14...post op diet

ONLY three pounds to go to be under 200lbs!!! It's taking long to get under 200lbs !!!
  19. Liz, I forgot to say I also had family members that didn't agree with the surgery. Therefore, to avoid negativeness I told these folks post op sleeve surgery.
  20. I had my sleeve surgery on December 2, 2014. Liz, why wouldn't anyone especially your family want you to be healthy and happy? !! It is such an unselfish move you made to have the Sleeve surgery. You will be around for your family . You do it for yourself but, you also are doing it for all your family and friends and so forth so that they can have you around for a long time. I would think they want you to live a long life. Well, having the surgery doesn't guarantee you a long life but, it helps your chances of a long life greatly !!! Forget about the negatives and surround yourself with positive people even if you have to avoid your family. Having negatives around you is only detrimental to your health. Keep up the great work losing weight and getting healthy.
  21. Seems like it's taking so long to get under 200lbs. When it happens I will be jumping for joy !!! I am only five pounds away from 199lbs !!!

    colobscopy prep with sleeve

i was never able to drink the gallons that was required to drink. i would order it from the pharmacy and attempt to do the prep but, never could (pre sleeve) . So it was mentioned to me that i could drink much less of the prep if i got the more concentrated version of the liquid. This was so much easier. So much less liquid to drink. Still terrible tasting but , not as bad as the gallons of the stuff to drink. i had one small polyp that was removed. i hope everything goes smooth for you.
