  1. Yes. You should steadily improve from here on out. If you have concerns then speak with your doctor.
  2. This is funny to me. As sleevers, one of the benefits of being sleeved is that we can go to Sams Club and have our meal consist of just the samples they give out on Saturdays. I just did this this weekend! So, want a free meal on Saturdays? Head over to Sams Club!
  3. Not sure why this is difficult for you. It's relatively easy to go without drinking for 30 minutes. As far as meals go, if you don't prepare yourself a drink then you won't be tempted to drink it while you eat your meal. When dining out, order just a Water and then don't drink it. Or order nothing. Or order water and then pour salt into it to make it unappealing.
  4. Call your doctor. It might be a blood clot or an infection from the IV.
  5. Sounds as much legit as sacrificing a virgin by throwing her into a volcano. With stalls you just got to make sure you are absolutely doing the diet correctly and are getting in exercise. If you are eating too many carbs then cut them out. If you are doing everything as you should then remain calm and patient and eventually your stall will break.
  6. All it means is to go back on your pre-op diet, which for most patients was a liquid diet. My pre-op diet was as follows: Week 1: All the Water, tea and sugar free drinks you like All the broth you like All the sugar free Jello and sugar free popsicles you like 2 Protein shakes (Breakfast and lunch) dinner is lean non-breaded meat on a bed of greens Week 2: The same as week one but Dinner is replaced with another Protein shake.
  7. It's called stock. Stock is made when you boil bones. broth is made when you boil meat or veggies.
  8. How much are you trying to drink at a time? You should be taking small sips all day long. Not just here and there but literally every couple of minutes. Carry a Water bottle with you everywhere you go. You will eventually be hospitalized if you don't drink enough liquid. So do try to sip all day long. Were you prescribed anti-inflammatory drugs?
  9. I'm 8 months out and I eat it all the time. I really love Subway's salads with the chipotle dressing. It could just be too soon for you.
  10. Go on a modified pre-op diet of drinking Protein shakes for breakfast and lunch and a normal small meal of lean meat and non-starchy vegetables. You should notice you will drop weight quickly.
  11. No such thing as losing weight too fast when you are obese. Also, please realize that you are in the honeymoon phase. It will not last forever and you will soon begin to hit stalls and then your weight loss will eventually stop altogether. So for the first 2 years, especially the first year, you should focus on losing as much weight as possible. If you get below weight you can then increase your calories but cross that bridge when it's needed.
  12. You are correct. We are far more likely to gain fat by eating carbs than by fats or Protein. It's because insulin works by removing excess blood sugar when our levels spike, such as after eating carbs. Insulin takes the sugars and deposits them in fat cells.
  13. Nope. No bread as it's too many carbs. But lettuce wraps, yes.
  14. Yep. I have exceeded it by 32 lbs so far and am still losing. I'm riding it all the way. The best advice I can give you is give it your all during the first 2 years, especially the first year and try to lose as much weight as possible during that time. I see posts by some people here about how they think they are losing too fast during their first year and then they try to actually slow their weight loss down. Those comments freak me out because these people have no clue about the honeymoon phase and how that weight loss will eventually stop altogether.
  15. The official BMI for underweight is under 18.4 and your BMI is 18.2 so you are technically underweight but by only a smidgeon. You can easily correct that by adding stuff like nuts to your diet.
  16. It was a mixture of drinks, mostly shots, a jager bomb, a red headed slut, and crown and diet coke. At most it was probably 800-1000 calories as they are about 90-100 calories a drink. Look, it was my choice. I chose to have fun that night and I had a blast. However, it did not get me drunk but it did to my friends. I did not gain anything. In fact, I lost 4 lbs this past weekend, bringing me down to the weight I was in High School and officially making me only overweight and not in the obese category any longer. If you are going to bitch about me over something then chose the holidays. I gained 3 lbs over xmas but I turned around and lost that in about 4 days. It's okay to live a little!
  17. My experiences are completely opposite. Before surgery, on drink would have got me buzzed with red cheeks. After surgery I can drink like a horse and practically nothing. Not even red cheeks. This weekend I went out and had 8-10 drinks and was not drunk. My friend who went with me and who had the same number of drinks but does not have the sleeve was wasted and was falling and puking everywhere.
  18. 2 day pre-op diet means that he wants you to burn your stored sugar levels in your liver to shrink it somewhat. When you diet or fast your body burns the stored sugar in your liver called glycogyn first. Most people have a 2-3 day supply of this sugar that has to be used up first before they begin to burn fat. However, and I'm saying this from observation, those patients who go on at least a 2 week pre-op diet appear to be more successful and lose more weight than those who do not. When you go on a 2 week pre-op diet you lose a lot of weight before your surgery and you are also over your carb withdrawals.
  19. The surgery is not that bad. It just feels like you were punched or kicked in the stomach. Theoretically you could begin whenever you wanted or feel comfortable to. Ask your doctor.
  20. You weren't mentally prepared for this journey. Did your insurance cover it? I bet if you self-payed you probably would have succeeded because it would have been something you would have had to actually work to save up and earn for. You can still recover. Go back on the pre-op diet so you can get over your carb withdrawals. Then focus on Protein first, followed by non-starchy vegetables. Go through and throw away all the junk food you have in the house.
  21. Where do you live? I'm just curious. I'm assuming in Europe but if not then was wondering why you decided to go to the Czech republic for surgery.
  22. LOL And I'll be able to actually fit through it!
  23. LOL...That's how I feel! I'm officially at the same weight I weighed in High School and more importantly, I'm no longer in the obese category of BMI and am now merely overweight. I'm so freaking happy! I can't believe I've lost 151 lbs in 8 months. I just have 49 more pounds to go and then I'll be at goal. These past few days I keep remembering what is was like to be this small. Lots of good memories from my teenage years. I feel more alive and mischievous than ever! (I forgot what a huge flirt I was lol.) I will be eternally grateful for the gastric sleeve and for finding this place. The surgery truly is a life changer. If you are reading this and are considering having the surgeyr, do it! Don't be scared. Take the leap and change your life!
  24. 800-1200 a day. If you are concerned then talk to your doctor. However, your stomach will eventually heal and you will be able to eat more. In fact, 6 months out and you will probably be anxious about just how much you can eat.
  25. I've noticed quite a few people are setting unrealistically low goals for themselves with regard to the sleeve. Ideally, one's goal weight needs to put them at a BMI under 25. The basic BMI breakdown is as follows: Under 18 BMI - Underweight 18-24 BMI - Normal weight 25-30 BMI - Overweight 30-39 BMI - Obesity 40+ BMI - Morbid Obesity Some people are posting that they've achieved their goal while still at a BMI that either means they are still overweight or even obese. It's their life and they can form whatever goal weight they want but it does sort of send the wrong message to people who assume that by goal weight that the person means they are in the normal weight category.
