  1. Ok, Ladies, just a reminder that the swap is tomorrow from 11 to 4p. Water, tea and coffee will be provided. PM me for the address and my phone number. I look forward to meeting all of you. Looks like we are going to have a great crowd!!!
  2. Welcome to bandland!! Just relax and use this time to heal. You will feel better each day.
  3. That happens to me Brad...I will play around in the same weight range for a couple of weeks and bam...I lose a couple of pounds...I am due for a drop!
  4. Banderster_gal...everybody is different on their restriction..I am heading back for my 4th fill...and I fill some slight restriction on some days. I have a 10cc Vanguard band and it is going to take me some time to get there. Can I get some responses on "average" weight loss the first month? I lost 18 pounds in the first month after being banded...lost 20 prior to being banded. What is the average calorie intake the first few months following the proceedure? 1000-1400 calories How long do I have to wait before I can get back on the eliptical 7 do other cardio? To be truthful...i didn't exercise at all until about 6 weeks ago. How long did everyone wait to go back to work? Most of what I do is at a desk... some occational lifting. Not much though and nothing over say 20 pounds. Surgery was on Friday, I was back at work Wednesday. I had alot of pain at the port incision, but it cleared up in about a week. My job is sitting in front of a computer too. What's the worst part of the first few days post-op? I've had two operations on my knees, (ACL) -- OMG! It can't be worse than that can it? Can you get up and walk around? Pain where the port was? That was the worst for me. I held my tummy at the port for 2 weeks so it wouldn't hurt when I got up from bed or chair. I hear the pain is minor for most people. I slept in my recliner the first two weeks, but only because I am an extreme stomach sleeper and didn't want to do any damage to my port area. It was just more comfortable as well. Now I have no problem..I still can't sleep directly on my stomach, but can turn on either side now. <!-- / message --><!-- sig --> __________________
  5. Welcome to bandland, Emily. Just take it slow and easy and allow yourself plenty of healing time. :-)
  6. Congratulations!!! I know how you feel...I just went to merely obese just here recently...who would have thunk it..that we would be so excited about being overweight and obese! :-) Keep up the great work!!
  7. Jay, as a suggestion, you can go out to www.room42.com and it will give you a guideline to follow for all of that and it varies from person to person, because it is taylored to you. I personally try to keep my carbs between 25 and 30 percent and not go over 130 grams and my fiber at 25 grams...I let everything else fall in to place based on that. That is taking into account that I have managed to get in 1200 calories a day.
  8. Best wishes Kelly on the gorgeous new you!!!! I can't wait to see the after pictures.
  9. You are beautiful lady with a fabulous smile!
  10. Sorry to hear that you have had to go through so much is such a short time and still end up losing your band. I wish you a speedy recovery and wish you all the best. This is still a great support site for the non banded as well. You can still practice the band rules even if you don't have a band. (huuugs)
  11. What kinds of foods are you eating? Do you track all your food intake on fitday or some other tracking source? Everybody is different on where their restriction takes place. Are you getting all your water in? Protien first and then veggies?
  12. I am ok with used bras..I also have some myself that haven't been worn a whole lot...fashion bras...bought at Lany Bryant.
  13. Vines, I am so glad that you finally have an answer...even if it is a tentative one...I am wishing you all the best and sending lots of healing light your way!! (huuugggs)
  14. I had got off track with my eating, but am back to 1000 to 1100 calories..but so far the scale hasn't budged. I picked back up with my daily exercise and I feel good about that. I took my measurements yesterday and have lost 7 inches since my last fill and over 50 inches since my banding in Sept.
  15. Congrats Gradma Penni!
  16. You might try some Water Sensations, you can buy them at Super Target or some Krogers. They come in a single packet and have several different flavors and you just add it to a 16 oz or 20 oz bottle of water and you are on your way. No calories or carbs...just a little flavor in your water. i add it to mine and as a rule have no problem getting my water in for the day.
  17. Good question Jean. I have had good responses from everybody that knows that I have had the surgery. The only negative comments I have had is from a relative who had bypass. She said I wasted my money and I wouldn't lose all my weight...I just smiled and said I disagree an walked off.
  18. Congratulations!!! You will be in bandland in no time!
  19. Come' on Doll!!! Today is a great day to do inside videos. It is sunny here, so when I get home, I think I go for a 6 mile ride on my bike. You get one of those videos out and get to sweatin"!!!! :-)
  20. 1/21 and 1/22, Saturday and Sunday were too ugly to mention. Let just say there was some chocolate and nuts involved and it wasn't pretty. I did manage to get a 30 min. walk with the kids on Saturday and a step video on Sunday. 1/23: Back on track. B: Cottage cheese L: Chunky chicken salad with lettuce. D: W: 3 cups E:
