  1. Awesome job - keep working that ARC trainer and you will be at your doctors goal in no time
  2. That's what I already dread because I never had a big stomach my entire overweight life (no rolls - muffin top) . I put on this weight and I look at my waist now and think - YUCK!
  3. two plus years later??? sorry I must be missing something.
  4. I was told I could take my BP meds - I got my approval letter last Friday and now I am getting ready to schedule the surgeon apt to set up a date.
  5. I have a co-worker who doesn't have a weight problem and he drinks Peanut Butter Greek Yogurt smoothies. I am not much of a milk fan but I did discover that mixing the PB with the plain greek yogurt was tasty!
  6. I did my last required class on March 20 and received my letter on April 3, 2015. I haven't seen the surgeon yet to schedule my surgery. I have some personal things I need to get a hold of before I set up the apt because I was told I have 30 days from seeing surgeon to have the surgery.
  7. @@JustBeth13 I just received my approval letter. I don't really know what happens next. I called and left a msg at doctors office. I believe that I schedule another appt with surgeon and at that point a date is determined. I am currently living in a 25' RV with my adult son and husband. we are waiting to have our house built and delivered. it's a modular.
  8. I think I would come here and ask for some help like you did by posting. I have a lot going on personally right now too and I am waiting for approval. Its a l-o-n-g story about my day to day life right now but I come here and read a few posts, sometimes I add a comment and then I go back to getting through the day you aren't alone.
  9. I LOVE Popcorn and Peanut Butter (especially crunchy) and that was a question I asked my surgeon about and he said neither was completely off my list of foods - just need to eat healthy version & small amount and chew, chew, chew. We didn't go into a lot about movie popcorn vs popcorn from home but I got the idea. I am looking forward to seeing F&F 7 this weekend and the smell of popcorn is going to be hard and I haven't had surgery yet but I am trying to get the mindset of post-surgery and forgo some of those favorites, for now. I would be scared to death of what the hulls would do to my healing stomach. I would bring some string cheese and Water and watch the movie!
  10. that's a great idea about the cups, I usually just get it with no condiments and ask that the lettuce and spinach be in the bottom and top so I can pull it off the bread. I will definitely try out your idea with the friendly subway folks here.
  11. I am waiting as well I have high BP so I am "in" for just that but I am pretty sure I have sleep apnea (I snore) but the weight thing worries me too. I was told I could lose to 240 and still have a high enough BMI to make requirements but that the BP was the ace in my sleeve. I am just waiting........
  12. How are you feeling today? It will be interesting to see how much you weigh on the 13th
  13. My doctor request pretty much the same thing. I am working towards that now, I don't have approval or a date as of yet.
  14. @@LipstickLady - you have nailed all of those feelings I have now. Maybe one day I feel like you do now. Thanks for saying exactly what you feel. I don't hold back either and I enjoy your posts too.
  15. Are you eating only what you are told? I believe, I haven't had the surgery yet, that if you are eating "off program" you would develop diarrhea. I think 4 days is more than what would be considered normal after surgery.
  16. I think I would not go to have plastic surgery where medical students are supervised, but that is me. I would want a licensed (sp?) surgeon to do that. I would be afraid of waking up and looking like human piece of silly putty. Did you ask your WLS surgeon?
  17. Sounds like how I hope to spend my day or two in the hospital and the first few days at home. When is your first post-op visit?
  18. I gave it to myself in the meatiest part of my upper outer arm. You could probably go into a walk in clinic and get them to show you like at Walgreens, CVS or something. Maybe even a fire station.
  19. Digital from walmart, bought it years ago. I don't move it around the house it pretty much stays in the same spot and its pretty accurate. will be nice to not stress test it by hopefully 2016.
  20. I think that is what is going to motivate me and also eliminate my fear that I did something I may regret in 5 years. I have steadily gained in the past 10 years to get me to over 100lbs over my norm. I want to move and feel human again. SJD2015 YOU are on your way~
  21. I think both were right Jerr_Bear & BLERDgirl. I would mix it up and still put in the call to the nutritionist:D
  22. you look great - have fun! rest now so you can enjoy the prom
  23. my thoughts are with you and I haven't been cleared yet for surgery but I think from what I have read here that what you are feeling is pretty normal. You are not alone.
  24. I did a stress too and I realized how bad I felt just trying to walk fast. I did find out that the heart valve issue I was told I had years ago (1988) doesn't exist. Don't freak out just yet. I think our surgeons know that some of those issues you felt are directly related to the excess weight. Are you on BP medicine? Did you go totally caffeine free atleast 12 hours prior to testing?
  25. I am in the same boat except I don't have a date yet - I started my journey on Nov 4th...
