Weight loss?
Were you by any chance self pay? Unless you have other medical issues, co-morbidities or are extremely short a starting weight of 195 doesn't seem like it would qualify for surgery. If that is the case, I would google online for a bariatric handbook. I would also call my primary doctor and get some bloodwork done and/or have them follow up on the nausea and discomfort you are experiencing after eating.

Weight loss?
I would say first off you aren't eating enough and you aren't meeting Protein goals. I would add at a minimum an afternoon snack something like yogurt with a bit of fruit and a tsp of flax or wheat germ sprinkled on top would also address the constipation issues you previously mentioned. I would look into something like the the Isopure nocarb drinks or Syntrax nectar to help increase your protein and Fluid intake. I would also try walking for at least 15 - 20 minutes a day. Exercise helps jump start your metabolism and appetite. I would also call the doctor. Still having trouble eating at 8 weeks out is not a good thing. ETA: If you can tolerate it. I would even add a tiny bit of spinach to that 1 egg. Spinach had Vitamin A, K, folate, Fiber, Iron and protein. I would also add a tiny bit of Protein powder to the the afternoon yogurt. That would increase your protein intake.

High Protein Pasta
My local Whole Foods carries it. You could buy 1 pack and see if you like it before investing in a larger shipment online

How invested are you in the idea of healthy weight loss?
AMEN to this. I am amazed at the folks who are constipated but refuse to add any healthy fiber to their diets. I refuse to constantly take laxatives and potions when adding a bit of flax powder to my yogurt will work just as well and much more naturally.

Soups
Liquids do not wash food out of your stomach, they actually fill you up, therefore you are unable to eat as much at that particular setting. So, the less food you are able to eat, the less nutrients you absorb. That's not true for sleeve patients. It's one of the main reasons why we have to separate eating and drinking in the early stages. There are several; Isopure, GENEPRO, Syntrax nectar (I think) and Unury to name just a few. I personally like Isopure, but taste buds and palates vary.

Weight loss?
What's your height and starting weight? Lower BMI's often lose slower. How many calories a day are you eating? Do you work out? How about meeting your protein goal? What's a typical food day look like for you? What does your doctor/NUT say about this?

Frustrated
Normal, normal, normal. Touch base with your doctor regarding pain. Sip Water anytime you aren't sipping Protein. suck on ice chips if necessary. You may need another or stronger dosage of PPI (carafate, omeprazole, etc....) Walk as much as you can. Stay off the scale if it makes you crazy.

Pre Op Exercising
I am absolutely convinced that taking aquafit classes played a large part in my recovery being pretty much pain free. If I had not been doing core strengthening exercises I doubt I would have been able to get out of the bed in recovery on my own. My advice is do what you can. Any little bit helps. Check your insurance policies. Many have wellness components that may either pay or reimburse for gym memberships. Check out youtube. There is a series of workouts for limited mobility and chair exercise on there. Many people go to the treadmill, often because it appears like an easy way to exercise but my orthos says that's the worse thing someone with a knee or back injury can do. Instead look for ways to strengthen the core and improve balance. Yoga and pilates, even modified are better alternative. Utilize your flexible spending accounts to pay for gym memberships. Find something to do and make out a schedule to do it consistently.

Love after sleeved. Question for my single sleevers
I get the gay subculture and vanity issues. I think it will partly be your attitude and partly depend on the amount of work your put in. I see a little melanin in your user pic so that may work in your favor as far as genetics are concerned . I was really big pre-op. I have lost over 100lbs and *still* am a little under midway to goal. So far my upper body doesn't really have any loos skin. My lower body is larger, but it's not bad either. It's too early to tell if I will need plastic there yet. However one thing I have been doing since 2 weeks out is wearing compression yoga wear as much as possible. Combined with eating well and moisturizing religiously with heavy duty products (coconut oil and baby oil gel w/ coco butter, my skin looks pretty good. No stretch marks and only 1 or 2 of the incisions are really noticeable. I haven't ruled out plastics as an end goal, but I am doing everything in my willpower to not need to resort to that. Besides, I am a firm believer that there is a pot for every lid. ETA: Just took a peek at your profile. I find it hard to believe no one wants a cute bear like you!

Love after sleeved. Question for my single sleevers
I can't say things haven't been much different for me. I was always fairly popular and had lots of friends. That hasn't changed for me. I will say this, Now that my weight is notably different people comment more on how much I go to the gym. Since I go nearly daily my neighbors and friend have noticed and compliment on that.

Aloha protein
I get emails offering to "try for free just pay shipping" every day. Those types of ads are usually an red flag for junk science. I don't think I will be trying this.

How invested are you in the idea of healthy weight loss?
Speaking from past experience, I never felt unwelcome on this site. I am a bit against the grain since I am a vegetarian with many food and medication allergies. I try to eat as clean as possible. I am very much against GMO's and processed foods. I use this forum as an informational tool, but I also do my own homework regarding my healthcare. If someone disagrees with me, that fine. I know what things work for me and my body.

Very Slow Recovery
First of all good for you continuing to try and sip. This is important so you do not end up dehydrated. Are you on a PPI of any kind? Prilosec, omeprazole? Have you spoken with your doctor about this? Perhaps you need an anti nausea med. Have you been able to get up and walk for even short periods of time? Walking will help as will continuing to sip.

Soups
My Protein shakes fill me up, but they are shakes I make myself typically before heading to the gym. It's usually Protein powder, greek yogurt, and whatever mix in I have on had. Sometimes that's nut butter, sometimes a bit of rolled oats, sometimes a handful of spinach. I've even added baked sweet potato or pumpkin puree. I think 41lbs at 10 weeks is a good weight loss and eating 500 calories a day is fine. I was eating between 400 - 600 at that point as instructed by my NUT. I was allowed Soup during all liquids and always added a scoop of unflavored protein to it. I am allow regular soup now and have been since week 6 when I was allowed to eat whatever I could tolerate.

2 years post op, not doing well :( sleeve redo/duromine?
Diet pills are at best a temporary fix and dangerous on your heart. I would start with seeing a bariatric doctor and getting their opinion.

Question
My doctor had me on colace for the first 30 days post op. I went on day 5 and have been regular ever since. Try adding a tsp of flax or psyllium powder to your Protein drinks. Here's an interesting article I came across on Fiber.

No protein & no vitamins, is it a problem?
@@Melvyn96 - The answer is yes it's a problem. You will be tired, you will be malnourished and eventually you will stop losing because the body will go into starvation mode. You have to find some way to get in Protein. shakes, RTD, yogurt or any other food. You also need to sip Water whenever you are not taking in protein and you need to be moving. This board cannot replace your program. Every program has a slightly different protocol and none of us are your medical team. They gave you a handbook. READ it. If that's too much, call them.

Energy level
Depends on your body and how you heal. Everyone if different. A week out I was pretty much back to normal energy wise. Make sure you are getting as close to your protein and fluid levels as possible, along with taking your vitamins and supplements.

Clear liquid post-op
Honestly this will pass. Of course you will be hungry. You're only drinking liquids. It will get better as you transition to regular food, but if you are not having head hunger and you are on an effective dosage of PPI, you should not get ravenously hungry. Normal hungry, sure. That hunger that makes your eat half the refrigerator? Hopefully no.

Anyone else feel scared they'll gain it back?
@@Babbs & @@CowgirlJane - you're both are right. I am tenacious. I also have always loved myself no matter what my weight is. I do use that fear of not succeeding to motivate myself, instead of paralysing me. I think a certain amount of fear is healthy when kept in proper perspective.

Protein drink issues
FYI if it turns out to be an allergy, check out some of the vegan protein alternatives. Bob's Red Mill has just come out with a collection of vegan powders that have 20gms of protein. It's not as high as the traditional powders and drinks, but it may help get you through the early liquid stages. I plan to try them as I would like to cut down on the amount of dairy I consume.

No protein & no vitamins, is it a problem?
In the September thread you said don't like the shakes and eggs make you sick, but you find the things in your program binder "extreme". What exactly did you expect from a surgery that removes 75% of your stomach? My advice is to call your nutritionist or doctor and review things with them.
